Tangled reference in
The Princess and the Frog:

It was back when the film was still called
Rapunzel. It even has the magical flower on the book!!

That's so cool
TPatF has a
Tangled reference!
Maybe two
Tangled references. When Dr. Facilier conjures an illusion of Tiana's resturant, the freestanding lamps bear a strong resemblance to the magical flower.

The book with the picture of Ariel from The Little Mermaid on Broadway poster at the bookstore during the Kingdom Dance montage isn't even on the trivia page and it was mentioned in this thread
two months ago.

There is a little mermaid poster in Tangled ?!?!?!? I've been away from this thread for too long !!
And the short ?? I think that is a wonderful idea; a happy compromise between having a sequel/not having one. (Though why Pixar are allowed sequels left, right, and centre, and Disney aren't, is not something I understand......).

And I will also really try and go to the official Princess ceremony !! It's just down the road from me, so there is no excuse

I think it's because their sequels are generally high quality. I think both the TS sequels surpass the first, and that's saying something.
But the Cars sequels do feel like milking because of the successful merchandise. Of course, maybe Pixar was disappointed that the film was their least successful film (critically/financially), so they wanted to make up for it and bring more out of the characters? Possibly.

I hadn't really thought of it that way, but to be fair I've always liked the original and think the sequel looks fun regardless. Cars seems well-liked by the general public; it's harshest critics seem to be the hardcore Disney animation fans. I know a lot of more casual movie fans that simply can't wait to see the sequel.

I think Pixar also gets a pass sequel-wise, because their films are original concepts nor are they done by a secondary department. Most of Disney's animated features are based on old stories, not to mention their sequels are done by their television department and with little to no consent by the original filmmakers.

WOW! SHE LOOKS AMAZING IN THIS! I have no doubt that it's fan made.
It's not fan made because it will be in a book:
More books with Rapunzel:

You know what really annoyed me about this film? Before this even came out, some people were bitching just because it wasn't being done the way it "should" have been; hand-drawn.
