I wonder why the guys at Pixar bought up the Animal Lovin' Ken dolls. I mean... what would they have to gain by doing that, or lose by not doing it? lol

The animators could use them as reference models (how it looks, moves etc.).

I still have yet to see this, but I really really want to. I haven't read any spoilers and I really only know what happens based on the trailer. But by reading what everyone else has said, it must be pretty awesome. Hopefully I can convince one of my friends to go with me.

I smell the makings of not only a joke....but quite possibly a Toy Story Fan Fiction on the identity of Andy's Father and possibly Molly's as well. I wonder if Andy and Molly have the same father....I know who woud be perfect for this fan fiction to figure this out...

Um...that's a joke right? Or did I leave the credits early? I was there for all the scenes where we learned what happened to everyone at the end and then regular credits started rolling and I left. I guess I shouldve stayed for the whole thing just to double check but I was quite exhausted.

The only Pixar movie that has ever had me in tears was Finding Nemo. Toy Story 3 came pretty close though...not even Up moved me like Toy Story 3 did in its final scenes.

To date I consider this and The Incredibles to be the darkest Pixar films. Did anyone else get a post apocalyptic vibe by the fact that the main Toy Story characters were the only toys left in Andy's room?

Yeah, it was a joke. I didn't expect this much discussion over that comment.

Definitely. I don't remember exactly how it went, but the dialogue like:
WOODY: OK, staff meeting, everybody!
(Awkward Silence)
REX(?): This is everybody.....

....Yeah, that gave me a sort of feeling like Stephen King's The Stand. But not as much as the scene where, for a minute, before the LGMs are "crushed" by that machine, they are all standing there in silence at the dump, and everything looks all desolate.... Now that was post-apocalyptic!

Andy's father identity is just as mysterious as Ash's father.

Maybe Andy and Ash's fathers don't exist. Maybe, just maybe, their mothers reproduced asexually, but kept it quiet in fear that women realize that they don't need a man to reproduce and keep humanity alive.

LOL. Though in first few episodes of pokemon, Ash's mother mention to Ash about his father. That's where the whole "who/where is Ash's dad?" debate started from.

Oh dude, that I know. I wasted half my life taping Pokemon episodes up until my third year in college XD .

But in a more serious note, wouldn't it be nice if we learned that Woody is actually a present from his father and thus why Andy is so attached to him? The first movie suggests that Andy has had Woody since Kindergarten, perhaps even earlier! Maybe at that point in his life something happened to his father (divorce, death, military service etc.), and Woody suddenly became important to Andy, because its the last memory he has of his father behind.

It would certainly give a lot of heart as to why Andy wanted to take Woody to college instead of Buzz.

It would certainly emphasize the emotional part even more. The ending would have been even more sad. It seems the writers would have taken a chance at this so I think they just couldn't fit it in. How do we fit Andy talking about his past? He could have talked about it to his mom, but then she would know Andy put his toys in the trash bag and would not have thrown it out. Then in the end with Bonnie, I wouldn't be comfortable talking about a dead relative to her. Right? I have no idea why we are all itching to really wanting to see Ash and Andy's dads!

I guess now that the film's out we can start talking about it's Blu-ray and DVD release. A thing of note that might be worth discussing is the release of both 2D and 3D versions.
