I loved the new trailer too! Can't wait for the end of March (when it premieres in The Netherlands).
Also loved what we heard of Beauty and the Beast by Ariana Grande and John Legend. It sounds very nice and I also think Ariana's voice fits the song well.

I love Ariana but I wasn't keen on her singing for this film until I heard her voice in the trailer. She sounds absolutely beautiful! I'm also liking how the trailer showed us a little of Belle's childhood with her mother. Also was I the only one captivated by that gorgeous shot of Paris? Seeing Notre Dame in the background gave me the chills and hope for a future Hunchback live-action movie.

Are you sure that's Belle with her mother? I'm pretty sure that's just Belle with another child, or have I missed a scene?

New shot from the film in a video that shows the difference between the IMAX and the standard aspect ratio versions of the movie:

Well, I guess in that aspect the change can be positive, but I prefer the way it is in the original film. It's somehow more beautiful that she falls in love with the Beast despite his appearance and not knowing he can turn into a prince. And we don't know how much the objects tell her about the curse, I hope they don't tell her how to break it, then she would feel forced to love him in order to break the spell.

Oh you're right. Silly me. I was so fixated on thinking that I was seeing young Belle learning to read that I didn't notice that the real Belle is the one teaching her.

Same. I like her as a pop/R&B artist, but nothing she's done seemed like a fit with B&tB. I was only holding out hope because she's done imitations of other singers so well, that she could probably do something classical/Broadway if she tried.

You're right, but she should know she's falling in love with a man's soul in a beast's body, and not think she's really falling in love with an animal. It could be that case in the original film, but she doesn't know it as much as she will in this film.

In the animated movie, Belle enters the west wing, sees the painting of the prince and finds an enchanted rose...although maybe not explicitly mentioned, she definitely knows he was human once...

Don't worry, I thought it was Belle and her mother too at first, until Mmmadelon pointed out it wasn't. I kind of wish we did see her with her mother, but whatever.

I don't think she knew he used to be human. I think she merely pondered what the painting and the rose meant but I doubt she could have figured "Oh he used to be human and now needs to fall in love before the last rose petal falls." I think in the original film Belle had an idea there was a human soul in the beast but I like that in this movie she may be way more sure.

Maybe we will in the movie, I hope so too!

You can now listen to the whole 'Beauty and the Beast' Song by John Legend and Ariana Grande on YouTube and Spotify.

I liked it more in the trailer to be honest :P

Same here. It's certainly not bad, but the orchestrations/backings in the trailer were so much nicer. I've probably re-watched the song in the trailer like 20 times already, I loved that version, so I'm a bit disappointed we're not getting that version.

Looks like they got rid of the Gaston reprise... or they somehow incorporated it into one song. I'm actually most curious for the Aria in the opening scene. Will it be a complete new melody?

Anyway, Fandango is reporting pre-sales are outpacing Finding Dory. So a $150 million opening weekend seems more and more likely. And with no noticeable competition for nearly two months this is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year. And easily the biggest live action musical of all time not adjusted for inflation.

Looking at the length of the Gaston track I'm hoping they just combined them, though the extra length could just be a dance break like on the Broadway cast album (and as seen in the final trailer). I just really can't see them getting rid of it.

I love the way they've depicted the Enchantress/beggar woman here. I know the DTV sequel TEC had her at the door, but I like what they have here much better, with her on her knees begging for shelter before being denied by the beast.

I was finally able to watch the trailer and it looks amazing. I'm disappointed in Ariana's take on B&tB, but that's the only bum note so far. I LOVED the ballroom peak :float: with all the candles/lights!

I think both Ariana and John did a great job with the song.

"Be Our Guest" and "Gaston" are both significantly longer than the animated songs, so I'm guessing the reprise was incorporated into the latter. I wouldn't be surprised if the former has an extended "dance" scene for the dishes, etc.

I'm glad "How Does a Moment Last Forever" is relatively short. I'm guessing it'll be similar to Lansbury opening with the music box "Once Upon a December" in Anastasia, for a better version sung by the main character later. Funny that Groban is doing "Evermore"; he'll have done both of Beast's songs now (with "If I Can't Love Her" on his Stages album). I'm glad Audra McDonald will open and close the film. I'm definitely getting the deluxe/2-disc.

All jokes aside, I do like how Belle's dress moves when she dances with the Beast in the trailers. I think that will be a magical scene for sure.

Isn't that the same one which was launched some months ago?
