I will say this, the only time I have called Disney Customer service WAS to get a slipcover, when I first joined this site and found out that the DVDs I'd bought had originally come with slipcovers but I'd managed to buy them without. Of course, now I just HAD to have the slipcovers so I called Disney and persuaded them to send me TWO different slipcovers. I think shortly thereafter they went into their slipcover moratorium mode and stopped responding to UD'ers requests for them since there was a flurry of people here at UD that started calling to get slipcovers.
Ok so last week I called them about that Silly Symphonies recall and they had me in the system - so they are like BIG BROTHER and the KNOW if you've called there before and likely why you'd called. Use your opportunities to call them wisely - too many calls from the same people over and over again about slipcovers and they are gonna tell you "no."

HI everyone,
Can the OP update the list to show 'Jump In: Freestyle Edition' has a slip?
Also, 'Pirates of the Carribean: The Lost Disc' has a slipcover. This is the reissue that is the Wal-Mart exclusive. I believe this is the latest Disney DVD with a slip. Jump In was right before that. (If you want to keep it chronological)
Thanks! And I LOVE this list!
P.S.
Oops! And we're missing 'High School Musical: Remix Edition'! Chronologically should be listed after Cars, before Robin Hood.

Not sure if anyone knows about this...I have been searching for the slipcover for A Bug's Life for about 6 months or so...never saw it, as I thought it was quite rare.
Two days ago, my friend and I were at a Wal-Mart and my friend glanced at the Disney section, and then did a double take. They had three copies of A Bug's Life with brand new, shiny slipcovers. Of course my friend and I bought one copy each.
I don't know if they are starting to produce copies with the slipcovers or not. The sticker on the set had a date of May07.
Anyway, if you are looking for this slipcover you might want to check it out. Thought I would pass the news along...

Jump In and High School Musical are added, and the latter is after Pirates (it came out on December 5, as opposed to Robin Hood on November 28.) Since the Lost Disc is a retailer exclusive thing now, I'm thinking it wisest not to list it; this is intended for easy refrence on widely available common DVDs. However, I will leave the call up to Luke on wheather to include it or not since he co-maintains the thread with me.
Thanks for your updates.

Hey Jake, thanks a lot for updating the list!
About the Pirates Lost Disc, I mentioned it because it is an official Disney release, so I thought it would be good to add it. Maybe put (Wal-Mart Exclusive) next to it to let people know where to get it?
But whatever you and Luke decide is cool.
This list should be easily updated (which is great) and is such a great resource for all of us.
Thanks Jake!
EDIT: just realized I was totally off on where High School Musical should be listed. Thanks for catching that!

New images of Pirates of The Carribean HD and lookie what we've found:
I thought this trend would actually die out on DVDs, but it seems Disney continues to set the trend of protecting your DVDs, and making them a bit more collectable to collectors via slipcovers.

I think Escapay just died a little on the inside...
I've actually seen slipcovers on non-Disney blu-ray movies and I'm surprised it took them this long to get a slip covered release out!

Employee of the Month and Crank have Slipcovers too.
Honestly I don't like the HD DVD or Blu-ray cases with Slipcovers. They look real odd on a shelf with other HD DVD/Blu-rays. I guess the same can be said for DVDs with Slipcovers though.

I never really liked slipcovers on DVDs... but I don't mind these all that much. Blu-Ray (and HD-DVD) cases are incredibly unattractive, and need all the help they can get. Cheap-looking transluscent blue (or red) cases will look terrible on my shelves, when the players become reasonably priced for the saner among us and I actually bother with the format.

I just wish they would make full use of the cover instead of having that swoosh on all Disney Blu Rays!
Was the original concept of slipcovers to give stores something to put out on shelves rather than putting the whole DVD case out on shelves. I can see some logic in this, for smaller stores who could only afford to stock a few copies of a title - having a slipcover would give them something to physically put on store shelves, and it wouldn't matter then if they were stolen.
I think the whole collectibility aspect of slipcovers has probably took on a life of it's own beyond what they were probably intended for originally.

Nooooooooo! I love slipcovers, but none of the rest of my Blu-ray discs (I have 17) have them.....it's going to look strange now.
Then again, my regular DVD collection is unbalanced too so maybe I should just burn all the slipcovers so they are all the same. (Just kidding - the obsessive-collective freak in me wouldn't allow that).

On the other hand, you could probably get Escapay to attend a slipcover burning party. He may even lead the festivities.

I am a bit surprised bythis, considering how thin the Blu-Ray cases are. I don't mind slipcovers much. Some are actually pretty cool looking.
