There is a blu-ray of a tv movie called A Christmas Visitor. That is 4:3. Why couldn't Pinocchio be ?

No, it will be PAL speed-up.

Basically because PAL uses 25 frames per second, a 24 frames per second film is speeded up to run in 25 frames per second (approx. 3.75% faster). NTSC (used in R1) has 30 frames per second, so they repeat every third frame, making extra frames but keeping the original run-time.

Blu-ray doesn't have PAL speed-up issues, but sometimes the publishers use the DVD timing by mistake on the back of the box.

So does anyone know if there is a country where the 2-disc platinum dvd has Jiminy's missing lines on the soundtrack?
Or is it just on the European Blurays?

It's for sure missing on the US Blu-Rays. I haven't heard if any country got the missing audio, but I'm assuming not since Disney should be using the same transfers for all releases of this edition.

No, the missing audio is on the European Blu-ray. That we know for sure, as various sources have confirmed this. But the same sources stated that the audio is definitely missing on the dvd. At least in the UK and in Germany.
That's why I was wondering if by chance some country got the dvd with the missing audio on it.

The Dutch DVD has the audio missing. But the Dutch Blu-Ray has it. It gets even stranger, some Blu-Rays have it and some don't, even around Europe. But the DVDs seem the same everywhere.

We were talking about cause and effect and internal logic and things that happen effecting or having to do with later things in the film?

Okay, well, there is something else. When Pinocchio catches his finger on fire, Gepetto sticks his finger in the water of Cleo's bowl. It makes black smoke. And then Cleo comes up for air coughing.

This obviously, without a doubt, is supposed to foreshadow how they get out of Monstro. I personally would say Pinocchio learns from this first hand how to make a fish, or something that breaths under water, come up for air and cough out something, even if it is kind of subconsciously.

I'll be getting my first Blu Ray player soon and have been looking at Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio... however I'm curious about the missing dialogue on the US version of the Pinocchio Blu Ray.

Basically I'm wondering if at this stage Disney have admitted there was a mistake and if there is a chance that there will be new copies pressed with the same audio track used in the UK?

Hello Douglas! I believe that the UK Blu-Ray (not the DVD) has the missing lines. Though don't back me up on that though as I'm not 100% certain (I don't have the Blu-Ray, sadly).

I know I'm asking the never ending question here but... does anyone know if Disney has corrected the "missing lines" issue on any of the dvd's? Has anyone purchased it recently? Is this still an issue? Does anyone know if Disney has said anything regarding this (I realize it's not a life altering issue, but I thought they might have something to say about it)? If it hasn't been fixed are there plans to fix it?

I apologize for the mass of questions but I've held off on buying this release in hopes it would be corrected. I know to some people it's not a big issue but to me it's like selling me a Rembrandt but telling me "Oops, sorry I tore the corner off by accident." It may not be a huge piece that alters the overall picture greatly, but it's a missing piece nonetheless.

They might've announced a reissue if they did correct those lines.

I think that if Disney would have done something, they would've done it by now. It should be easy, the correct version is already on the market albeit a different region.

I recently bought Pinocchio´s Platinum DVD and the discs are printed without the shinny holographic effect....and I´ve seen pictures of the discs on the web and it seems that they are supposed to be holographic...any of the owners knows how the discs are supposed to be?

The pics you saw might've been taken with the cameras' flash turned on, cuz it's not on my blu-ray's dvd.

I feel the same way. Maybe they'll fix it for the Diamond Edition coming out in 5 years. That may be the only way they'll get me to purchase it as I can't the the PQ/AQ getting any better.

I don't know about the DVD's but I bought the original Blu-ray when it came out and it never had the holographic (piracy protection) on it. It was normal looking and the only DAC on Blu-ray that has that seems to be Snow White.

I was just wondering, did anyone's BD come with a Blu-Ray guide like the one in Snow White? I'm curious because my Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio BDs didn't come with one.
