Wow. I can't believe these complex emotions that have been envoked by this film.

omg i know, but you know something i came home thinking i need to let go. I still have barbies from when i was a little girl and this movie is making me want to donate them, what is the point of having them in storage?

Oh yeah, I forgot to post about Day & Night- it was really cute! Doesn't top Boundin' for me, but it was really well done. Definitely not boring, IMO!

It's slowly sinking into me. But I loved. Toy. Story. 3.
I don't know how Pixar is able to make a FUN film that feels just SO GREAT after seeing it.
"The orphans!" I CRACKED UP SO MUCH.
My dinosaur eats force-field dogs I laughed so loud that the people in front of me turned around and stared.
Jessie yodeling! <3
Barbie's moments in the box when they're in the van!
I know Pixar had to get the toys TO Sunnyside to trap them, but the toys have been through so much in 1 and 2 that I felt they should have believed Woody when he said Andy was going to store them in the attic.
TORTILLA MR. POTATO HEAD. I didn't think they could do it, but John Lasseter knew losing his pieces in the first two was hilarious, so for them to think of tortilla Mr. Potato Head is f*cking so smart!! So refreshing and new.
I laughed every time Mrs. Potato Head opened her mouth. The actress, I am so sorry I can't recall her name right now, who voices her, I love her in Suite Life of Zack and Cody!!
"Everyone, slide to Buzz!" (because the dumpster is dark and Buzz glows) I AM SO HAPPY they use his glow in the dark paint to use in this movie too.
Furnace scene was SO INTENSE. The green aliens got an applause for saving everyone whilst chanting, "The claaaaw!"
I am so glad the TV fell on buzz to make him normal again...as painful as it probably was for Buzz.
Now I feel so dirty for buying Lotso.
Really...what happens when a toy gets put in a box?
I felt there was not enough of a strong pull of "Andy is leaving tomorrow!" to rush home.
Lee Unkrich says Sid makes a cameo in this movie. Is it possible he was the garbage man playing on an air guitar?
From chasing a van, to jumping off a plane to GETTING INTO A FURNACE makes this climax the best yet.
I'm so glad all of you loved it! I think as time goes on, I will love it more. It just has to sink in.
Edit: I was so sad when the toys got hold of a cell phone and Woody was on the phone and was sooo close of saying something to Andy. Their desperation got me so worked up!
Oh, and who said Woody flying the kite and Andy talking about Woody were dream sequences? They feel so right in the movie and not at all cheesy or "Andy is a grown-up, it's weird he's talking about Woody like that!"
Tiny tiny gripe: Totoro plush owned by a kid who isn't asian?

Margos and I are both referring to the scene where Barbie had Ken tied up in the giant paddleball

Yeah, that was him. He was in two scenes, the second one actually doing well by the toys (unknowingly).

I was thinking about this and figured it was something the family either got from a Japanese friend or on a Japanese vacation. Maybe a daycare center owners convention in Tokyo.

Or maybe a Japanese toy memorabilia shop? There's a shop in my local shopping centre that sells Asian imports, including toys like stuffed Hello Kitties and Stitches. Also, I don't know if anybody else saw this, but I noticed that Hayao Miyazaki got a special thanks credit. First for a Pixar?

Yeah, Toy Story 3 made me so glad I never gave away my toys, even when I stopped playing with them upon entering secondary school. I have most of them in boxes, but I do have a couple that sit around or near my computer (Tony the Tiger, a crocodile stuffed toy, Goofy, a small Happy Meal Hamm, a gigantic Toy Story alien). And when I got home, I just had to hug that alien.
Also, when the lights come up at the end, I noticed that the couple sitting in front of me had an stuffed toy of Eeyore with them.

I saw
Toy Story 3 this morning and it was awsome. I love the beginning of the movie. Estelle Harris the voice actress who does Mrs. Potato Head is hilarious.
I wished that Lenny, Wheezy, RC, Etch, Bo Peep appeared on this movie. I was dissapointed that we didn't get to see more of Trixie, Dolly, Buttercup, and Mr. Pricklepants but still this movie was great. Can't wait to own
Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray.
Toy Story 3 made $41 million on Friday night.

Also it looks like it's going to be making $100 Million or more this weekend alone and if it does that it will join Shrek 2 and Shrek The Third as the only animated feature filims to top $100 Million in their opening weekend debut.

And my thoughts on Jonah Hex bombing....Good movie at the wrong opening weekend....
IF Jonah Hex was going to do any good...they should have released it in the fall like august or september or even October....

Sometimes you don't realize that a movie needs a sequel until you've seen it. THIS is that movie. A perfect ending to the overall story, so glad that they made it. Pixar does it again!
That short was really cool. Funny and well done, great use of traditional and cg animation.

Don't know if I was the only one, but I was one of those people. it seems to be they had a dream filter in the trailers. maybe it was removed or toned down in the final version? As for Andy talking about woody, I had two guesses on that, it was either a dream sequence, or Andy talking to a kid. and I called it on my second guess. I'm just glad he wasn't talking to himself, another adult, or his toys. That would have been cheesy. thankfully it turned out for the best.

Okay, here is my review. You can tell from my username how much I love the series. The entire franchise has been a big part of my life. I remember faking being sick so I could leave school early the day the first one came out. I remember my Mom getting up at 5 a.m. and standing in line for 3 hours to get me a Woody and Buzz for Christmas (even though she could not afford anything that year).
I remember being sick that Christmas, so sick I had to go to the emergency room on Christmas night. I had Woody and Buzz with me the two weeks I was in the hospital. I was almost deathly sick, but those toys put a smile on my face the entire time.
I remember watching TS1 and TS2 on VHS so many times they wore out. I've now graduated from college and have my own job and my own family. I still proudly display my 1995 Woody and Buzz (even though they were played with to death they are all worn and tattered, and I can't find Woody's hat or Buzz's helmet). Basically, these films are part of my life and I was very worried they would screw up a perfect series by trying for a TS3.
Now, my thoughts on the film itself, of course major major spoilers:
This is the definition of a perfect film. FLAWLESS. It had everything a good film needs and it executed them perfectly.
I thought one of the saddest parts was during Lotso's flashback, when Big Baby tried to walk back to Daisy's room and then was cruefully snatched away by Losto. Seeing Big Baby walking to the room knowing that a loving owner was there and getting so close but then being pulled back really got to me.
The toys linking hands and accepting their death together was so powerful it will stick with me for the rest of my life.
I read reviews saying the ending was emotional, and I thought I was doing pretty well until Bonnie waved Woody's arm goodbye to Andy. That was the breaking point for me where I began to just sob until well after the movie was over. But since Andy lives so close, I'm sure he will visit her when he comes home for break and will play with them
I hope there isn't a TS4. Just leave perfection alone and don't risk screwing up the best triliogy of all time. They wrapped it up beautifully.
I don't get people here saying Jessie's abandonment issues weren't developed. Wasn't that the point of TS2? They covered it fully there, am I missing something? Unless they meant for a new person seeing TS3 without TS2 they wouldn't get what she meant by it, but the film was full of those, like the aliens and the claw and the "you saved our lives, we are etenally grateful" lol.
The only SLIGHT critiscism I can give ... and this is so slight I feel foolish for even bringing it up when the rest of the movie was so brilliant ... but there were way too many new toys. So many just had one line or were ignored. Twitch, Sparks, Crunch, Dolly, even the girl dinosaur were just kind of "there...." and I know the movie isn't long and some had to not be featured but it felt like a huge pool of characters that just popped up but never had any impact.
Overall, very satisfied. Pixar has done it again. I've seen it twice now, and both times the theatre applauded at the end. It's the only film I've ever been to where they applauded at the end. I actually took my mom the 2nd time I went, because she was with me for TS1 and TS2, I took her to the same theater to see TS3 just like old times. She did tear up at the end too. It was hard seeing the toys say goodbye after they've spent 15 years as part of my life.

For me, it was because
Jessie's experiencing abandonment all over again. And she mentioned that it was "Emily all over again," but I mean, I thought for some reason that she would have another flashback scene this time around, maybe with both times she shared with Emily and Andy. But you're right, it was a big point of TS2...I just expected it, that's all, for me personally.

Oh, and I laughed so hard I nearly cried when Barbie started quoting Natural Rights Philosophy, OMG! I had a government class this past year in school, and we had to listen to "Consent of the goverened" lectures over and over again. So hearing it in TS3 was hilarious, especially in Jodi Benson's voice, coming out of a Barbie doll. Classic.

You forgot to mention how terrible this movie is. I went to see it and almost walked out about half-way through. It is horribly filmed, the acting is very wooden, and Josh Brolin is atrocious in what was supposed to be very graphic retelling of the novel. Total waste of time and money. I wish now that I had saved my money and time for something better like seeing "Toy Story 3" for the second time.

Yeah I havn't seen Jonah Hex myself....I thought it looked kinda interesting but not worth for me to see it in theaters. Maybe a rental someday.

I LOVED it. And I honestly wasn't expecting to, at all. I would rank the first as my favorite, then the third, and then the second, though all are high-quality stuff.
