I definitely think that the Diamond Edition refers to Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs because of the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Mine , and if you check out the Snow White trailer on the Pinocchio Blu Ray it has myriads of twinking jewels from the Diamond Mine , and the title of the movie is set in Silver text not gold as on all the Cover Art thus far up to press!

I think people are getting confused. My bet is by "Diamond Edition", this will be the new titles of all rereleased Platinum titles... maybe saying they sold the best of the platinums and now they are diamond, just like in record sales.

Today is May 17, 2009, and we still have yet to see a Press Release for "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" on Blu-ray and DVD. Hopefully when the press release is announced, it will explain what the hell a Diamond Edition is.

Well at least this release is something both DVD and Blu-Ray people can look forward to. :D

The economy being at the South Pole has something to do with it. Several DVDs aren't announced until only a couple months before release.

Wouldn't it make sense to announce it in advance so people can start saving. Just saying

Do people really need to save up for DVDs? They're not HDTVs or blu-ray players (unless they plan to buy the whole home theatre experience along with SW).

Maybe saving up is required for the collectors sets, but those people intent on buying them are more concerned with the physical features, which have already been listed.

It's nice to know they are giving the DVD plenty of attention.

On the bright side the DVD is a restoration..

Because it makes perfect business sense to advertise the format which is getting a large investment by Disney and is new for the film begin released.

Even a Blu-ray hater like you should get that simple logic.

That is the crappiest looking press release I've ever seen (for such a well loved treasure as "The Shrill and the 7 Bearded Children"). The last half of the list is completely useless. The Hyperion Studios could be interesting, but at most it would be 15 minutes of actual information that could be appreciated. Hopefully this isn't it because there would be absolutely no reason to upgrade to the Blu-ray.

I think the press release doesn't mention enough good bonus features and no dvd press release. Disney- don't discriminate, appreciate us dvd owners.

That's one crappy press release. The Hyperion Studios feature sounds cool, and some of the interactivity could be pretty neat. That said, we still have zero idea what bonus features from the 2001 DVD are getting carried over. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that the text features and gallery commentaries will be dropped. I'm sure Disney Through the Decades also will be left out since it's now dated itsef. Hopefully those will be the only losses.

Looks like the features are going to be cool. Love the Magic mirror hosting again.

The Hyperion Studio looks like another cool walkthrough.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall actually sounds much better than Disney's usual BD-Live trivia game.

All-in-all, a must have! :D :pink:

I'm hoping (big emphasis on the word hoping) that they'll include an updated version of Disney Through the Decades that also includes a more in-depth 1940s segment. The 1940s segment on the last DVD only got through the first half of the decade and didn't mention the package films, SOTS, and So Dear to My Heart.

Also, I hope Disney will release in-depth info on the box set.

When I saw a Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs Press Release on the Front Page of Ultimate Disney I thought great and yet after I read it I thought what a let down !!

It's like they missed a page out no mention of :
( A ) Snow White Returns : The Sequel Walt Disney Wanted as mentioned on the Disney Store website.
(B) No mention of a Making Of Snow White Featurette !!

They should have been much more thorough in the listing of the Extras on this very important Blu Ray release!!

And so starts the Diamond Collection...

lets hope that they keep their name on this bank, and let it live up to the name. Deco I hope you have the other releases on Blu Ray as well they are wonderful.
