So guys, I still haven't watched Encanto.

But I did watch Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising a few days ago.

In the Blu-ray's deleted scenes, this girl showed up.

If this isn't the real-life Mirabel Madrigal then I don't know who is. :goofy:

Good for Encanto! I though it and Raya both were great movies, while Strange World was 'okay.'

Count me among countless others who really loved this movie. I liked the fact that it wasn't a "buddy road trip/grand adventure" story for a change, that things were kept pretty simple and interesting like the majority of the Disney Renaissance movies. Story, characters, songs and animation were all top notch and after how Raya and the Last Dragon kind of botched its message; it was a relief that the themes here were handled much more sensitively and, in the end, felt more organic and believable.

And yes, "We Don't Talk About Bruno" has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it. Honestly, this, alongside his work on Moana, shows that Lin Manuel Miranda is really good at writing songs for Disney movies.

I have to say that I didn't like the songs that Lin made for this movie. We don't Talk about Bruno is good but the other songs are not actually really good and I can't find Disney's spirit on them.
We don't know about Bruno was pretty popular few months ago but right now the movie is not very popular and I hace the feeling that people have forgott it.

Bruno was catchy, but the rest of the songs ranged from bad to mediocre and I agree they lacked the traditionally Disney sound. The film's 'I Want' song which is supposed to be Disney's bread and butter was particularly disappointing.

There isn't much online chatter anymore, but Encanto still ranks in the top 10 of Nielsen's streaming movie chart almost every week. A sequel is inevitable. It would have probably gotten the series treatment like Moana a couple years ago, but now that Disney Plus is cutting down costs, I think it will get a theatrical sequel instead.

I'm not sure about a sequel. It was a good trend but not so powerful to receiva a new movie

I purchased the movie on Blu-ray while I was in Germany a few weeks ago. I watched it for the first time, from start to finish, and I enjoyed it. It's definitely better than Moana, but still, I miss those good old Disney movies, with villains in them. I'm kinda over this journey the characters make in each movie to discover themselves.

Meanwhile, there was a scene where Mirabel went "Bruno, your room is the worst!!!!!" that made me lol. I also liked the soundtrack a lot, and the animation was beautiful.

I agree about the animation. The movement of the skirtis is beautfiul.
I'm also bored about the stories of journeys to self Discover. I think that they need to make histories with great villains again. They need to adapt a Fairy Tale that can bring disney's old Magic back

I thought the film was enjoyable visually and musically. Unfortunately I felt like I was watching a montage most of the time, if that makes any sense.

Yup. I understand that the classic villian got played out, but after trying to subvert expectations for so long, it's no longer surprising and just boring.
