Seeing it 3 times. first in 2D, again in 3D, and a third in IMAX 3D. I want the best of everything. the only thing I'll miss out on is seeing it with 7.1 surround sound, as unfortunately there just isn't one close enough to me.

Printed the Movie Certificates. Got a 7:00 showing tomorrow night with my Dad. 3D.

I just got back from the midnight showing, and I will now post my thoughts below. My thoughts are in no particular order. It's just random things here and there. Because there will be spoilers, I will post my thoughts in white:

Well, first off, they didn't show the short beforehand because they paused it on the castle logo before showtime (I'm seeing it again at 11:45 AM, so I'm good. Haha). The film itself: WOW! I didn't think the first two could be lived up to. The third starts out greatly. I loved all of the references to the first and second films, as well as the "95" on the train that symbolized 1995. I loved the little girl that the toys were eventually given to. The whole dump scene had me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to punch Lotso in the face or have someone flip him off or something. Haha. I don't really know how I felt about Ken. It was a good idea, but I don't know if I liked how he was executed. Maybe it's just me and my dislike for dolls. Haha. The baby was creepy. I know that was the intent, but still. *shivers* I loved Lotso's backstory with Big Baby and the clown. I didn't think the Buzz en Español thing would work, but I was laughing the whole time during that sequence of events. Overall, it was an excellent sequel and (probably) end to a great trilogy of films. Pixar has proved itself worthy once again of praise, and I expect this to win Best Animated Feature at the Oscars.

WOW! What an absolutely incredible movie. That scene where they were in the incinerator was absolutely INTENSE!!! I was like sweating after watching it! And I had to use every bit of willpower to keep myself from sobbing really loudly at the end when Andy was explaining all the toys to Bonnie. That was incredibly touching and well-done. I hated Lotso though, what a douche. I had no problem with the Prospector in Toy Story 2, but this guy just really pissed me off. I loved spanish Buzz and factory-reset Buzz. Always gotta have a diluted Buzz in there xD I was really glad at the end that Woody stayed with Buzz and the gang. But what happened to Bo? Was she broken or did they give her away? That was soo sad. The tiniest nit I have to pick would be that they didn't mention RC or Lenny... but at least they mentioned Wheezy and Etch. I loved the beginning, I was hoping it would word-for-word how the opening of Toy Story was, but I like the way they did it. Overall it was an absolutely amazing movie and I plan on seeing it many many more times! This is definitely one of my favorite trilogies now. Wow. Well done, Pixar, well done.

I'm guessing I probably won't be able to see this until Saturday . . . really looking forward to it though.

I've been avoiding major spoilers so far (oh Little Golden Book, you looked so tempting), so I'll wait until after tonight to read people's thoughts in white...

I got my tickets (I'm taking two of my nieces) for a Noon showing today! I am so excited!

Just got back from a early morning showing this morning, and have to say that this is definitely my favorite of the three movies. It packs a ton of emotion between the toys, and not just the familiar ones. I was rather disappointed in the absence of Bo Peep, but honestly didn't really notice her absence in the entire film. Most of the new toys were engaging, but none had the impact on me as Ken did.

First, I'll be blunt and say that I always loved Ken and Barbie, and played with them a lot as a young boy and I still have most of those dolls. But after seeing this film, I love them in a whole different light. Michael Keaton as Ken just epitomizes suave cheeseball, and I love the interpretation as sort of a 1970s metrosexual playboy. Jodi Benson proved herself great as Barbie, here having a much larger role than her one in Toy Story 2. I was really surprised as well in the development of Ken, as we see him go from being a sort of croney to Lotso, to standing up for himself and the others in the end. Also the bondage scene of him tied up in the paddleball by Barbie was priceless.

All in all, a great addition to the Pixar cannon and one of my favorite Pixar films.

I have to say that we just came back also from the morning show. This has to be the best Pixar Movie, and the only thing i would have to say is that WHAT A TEAR JERKER!!! Love itt!! 5 STARS!!!

My son started crying i am wondering what happened when the gang tries to open the box with Rex's tail? i missed how they ended up inside the sunnyside box and how did Woody also wind up in there? thanks a lot would appreciate it!

My favorite parts:

would have to be when i thought woody and buzz and the gang we're going to die but they didn't and that almost made me cry...

i loved how they played "you got a friend in me" in the beginning nice surprise!

when ken is changing for barbie and she holds him hostage soooo funnyy

when andy finaly says goodbye

and woody says goodbye to the toys i thought he was going to leave them but he actually lets go of Andy, even hubby felt like crying and he dont cry easily

Thoughts:

i have to say i like how Andy's character develops because in the 1st and 2nd you don't see that as much, i am so happy buzz finally got with jessie i was waiting since the 2nd part for that to happen lol and it's sad that boo peep got sold away

Got back from watching it and I enjoyed it. A perfect end to a great trilogy.

I'm serious. This is one big emotional roller-coaster. If you feel absolutely nothing through the course of this film, you are cold and heartless. Not even joking.

They manage to get out of the sack and sneak towards the garage, with Woody following them. There's a discussion with the toys being disappointing, because they think Andy threw them out. Jesse then sees the donation box in the car and decide to hop in them. Woody tries to push the box out of the car, while trying to convince the toys that Andy didn't throw them out. But, then Andy's mother comes in and closes the boot/trunk.

I give it 8.5 out of 10. It was my least favorite of the series but I thought the other 2 were flawless. I thought the story flowed better when the emphasis was on the original characters. My biggest gripe was that there were TOO many characters introduced to seemingly sell more toys in stores.

The last 2/3rds of the movie were great like the other movies and it did have a satisfying (and emotional) ending. This was "Return of the Jedi" for me in the trilogy and I hated the Ewoks too!!

I've been out of theatre now for about half an hour and the tears are still trickling out every now and then. Say what you will about the first ten minutes of "Up", but for me personally the last ten minutes of "Toy Story 3" are among the most heartbreaking minutes ever put on screen.

On a personal theatre experience note I gotta say I've never had a worst time at a movie. Some brat was kicking the back of my seat the whole movie and when I turned around a polietly asked him to stop his mom said if I talked to her child again she would go see the manager.

That and a few women thought it was a good idea to bring infants obviously under the age of six months to the movie (our theatre has a weekly matinee for moms and their families every saturday afternoon they could have gone to) and not take them out of the theatre when they started to scream. I'm sorry but when your baby is louder than the movie's soundtrack you should be curtious enough to remove the child till it has calmed down.

Now back to the actual movie: I'll need to see it a few more times before I rank it agianst the other two movies... I loved it, but I love the other two so I don't know...

Alright time to type in white (AKA SPOILER ALERT):
I loved the opening scene. It was an awesome throwback to the very first playtime with Andy.

The Potato Heads were really stars here. Mrs Potato Head's eye was a brilliant plot device. Mr Tortia Head was hilarious too. I was in stitches that whole scene.

Didn't miss the toys who were gone. Some of Andy's choices on who to save puzzled me (the aliens mainly), but I can't complain. Love that the aliens were the heroes in the end.

Ken and Barbie's interactions were awesome. Barbie being a crucial character to the plot surprised me. I be Mattel wishes they could make a Barbie movie and have her be as awesome as she was in this film.

The other new characters were all good, but spread to thin. I was hoping we would get to see Trixie more since I loved her in the trailers. Ah well. Lotso was a great villian, though I was hoping he'd get a worse fate than he recieved. Big Baby was hella creppy as was that frickin Monkey Doll... Move over Chucky...

The scene in the garbage incinerator made me feel guilty about every toy I have ever thrown out...

The ending where Andy handed down his toys made me flashback to every toy I've ever loved in my life and no longer have... I wish they could have all gone to a little girl as cool as she was instead of whatever god-awful place they ended up.



Amazing movie all-round. Going to see it again as soon as it leaves the 3D screen. 3D added absolutely nothing except ticket cost to this movie. It wasn't a distraction really, but there was no need for it. I don't see it the same way that most people do, but I could tell it wasn't worth the money.

Just saw TS3! Color me blown-away! OMG, I cried a few times, and was on the edge of my seat almost the entire time.

I loved how the beginning echoed Andy's play sessions from the first two movies. "And I brought my dinosaur, who EATS force-field dogs!!!"

I actually loved all of Bonnie's toys, loved to hate Lotso, and thought Ken was awesome! The paddleball sequence was hilarious! And that Monkey was just plain creepy. Oh, and I loved Big Baby, too! The part where he turned his head, I seriously jumped! But when he said "Mama," ooohh, that was sad.

And the whole garbage/incinerator scene.... Ugh. I dunno. It was so epic and dramatic, and I loved it! But.... oh god, I'm such a pyrophobe, nearly started crying and hyperventilated, probably going to have nightmares now. But all of the toys joining hands and accepting their fate.... oh my god, talk about powerful.

And I just love Bonnie! I know she'll take good care of the toys, I was so happy to see them go to her, but I did start crying when Andy left. Oh well. Oh, but Rex and Trixie are the great "nerd couple" of the Toy Story universe, with their computer/video game obsessions, they're so cute! IDK if it was romance exactly that they hinted at, but, who knows? Possibly!

And yeah, I agree with Estefan, those were my EXACT facial expressions.... except that one part I mentioned above where I was more like: .......

Saw it just an hour ago. Loved it!

spoilers: I love how Andy's opening play scene is a collage of things. The western opening deleted from the original-given the TS2 treatment-One-Eyed Bart and Evil Dr. Porkchop. The ship was hilarious!

The "reveal all" trailer didnt do so. Andy still loved them all.

Bonnie was a really well-developed character. you can definitely sense Andy in her personality and you like her from the start.

I thought for a second Woody would die in the fire

Lotso's behavior at the end was tricky.

The whole Stepford Wives/Prison Break Movie vibe was fantastic.

Spanish "You've got a friend in me"

Spanish Buzz was HILARIOUS! The way he tried to court Jessie and how she ended up attracted to him.

Regular Deluded Buzz was not just a side this time-He was made a threat.

Barbie turning on Ken in the Wardrobe Room....and Ken's Wardrobe

And people still lol'd at their first meeting.

Night and Day: really nice short.

Totoro was in a lot of shots

The whole Trash Dump sequence was great!

The clown's story.

And the sweet ending.

The flaws: Jessie's abandonment issues werent elaborated on. Also, not as tear-jerky as I was expecting. Having a little bit of UP injected into it might've done some good.

This was absolutely freaking epic. It's definitely my favorite of the trilogy. They just crammed everything imaginable into this movie: romance, action, suspense, drama, comedy...I'd say out of all the Pixar films done to date, this is perhaps the one that appeals to the widest demographic. There's something for everyone here. Some thoughts...



* The intro was fantastic. I love how they referenced the play scenes from both Toy Story movies, especially the opening to the original. Death by monkeys is just awesome.

* Ken. Oh, Ken. There was no contest: he was the best new character. All of his scenes with Barbie are hilarious, especially the ones that take place in his clothing room. The high heels and sparkly letter gags were priceless.

* Lotso takes the cake for the best Pixar villain. Usually I find myself liking their villains in some way (Hopper, Syndrome), but I truly loathed (aka loved to hate) Lotso. He's the most manipulative and, dare I say, vicious character they've turned out. His reaction when Woody brings up Daisy was chilling, and that "psyche!" moment at the dump was just flat-out cold.

* Bonnie was so adorable. I kept hoping throughout the film that her character would get a nice sort of closure. The idea of her getting Andy's toys somehow never occurred to me even though it makes so much sense now. I almost wish she and her toys had more screentime. Perhaps we'll see more of them in that short film Lee Unkrich said will be before Cars 2.

* Gaaah, the baby and the security monkey creeped me out.

* I wasn't expecting much from Spanish Buzz based on the trailer, but it ended up being more hysterical than I thought. The tango scene is just brilliant.

* Oh my gosh, that climax was amazing. I honestly thought the characters were going to die. I can't even remember the last time I felt that way when seeing a film, let alone a Disney/Pixar one. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire dumpster climax. The use of the claw was absolutely brilliant.

* That has got to be the most emotionally satisfying ending I've seen in a Pixar film, and that's saying a lot. It just felt so right and was squeezed for every bit of emotion it could. I kept myself spoiler-free for this movie, so before seeing it, I kept expecting that Woody and the gang would be passed down to Andy's kids. Instead they managed to pull a surprise that still felt natural. I can't think of a better way to end both this film and the trilogy as a whole.



Third installments have a knack for either sucking or, even if they're good, being a noticeable step down in quality. Outside of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Toy Story 3 is the best third installment of any film franchise I've seen. I don't know what Pixar does to make their movies so wonderful (even their weakest entries like Cars and A Bug's Life are still great), but Hollywood could really use a dose of whatever they've got.

For me, that's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Temple of Doom was terrible but Last Crusade saved the franchise with the amazing chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery.

^ a ton of people will disagree, but I'm not one of them. I never liked any of the indy movies, but last crusade was the better one.

For me, it's HP, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars as well as this franchise.

I agree (except I've been out of the theater for more than half an hour...but you should see all the makeup I had to use to hide the fact that my eyes are still puffy ).

I agree- I had been so looking forward to Trixie, Buttercup, and Mr. Pricklepants so much, and I was glad that they all lived together. I absolutely loved Bonnie and her toys. So much. And what short film are you speaking of...? *edit* Nevermind, I just found the article...I'll post it in the Cars 2 thread.

I agree. I also was thinking that Woody and friends would be handed down to Andy's kids. But I like the way it was handled, and Andy can always go and visit them!

I just loved this movie. My favorite Pixar film by far. Well, not by too far, haha, but my favorite. Definitely one of my favorite films ever. Seriously, it's so perfect. I loved it.

Some highlights for me not mentioned above:



*The orphans. <3 it!

* Just the suspense of the whole thing. I didn't read too many spoilers, so I didn't know how it'd end up too much. Definitely on the edge of my seat throughout.

* Already mentioned, but Mr. Tortilla Head. O.M.G. Sooooo funny.

* I didn't think that Big Baby was that creepy, especially not after the flashback scene. But that monkey, holy crap.

Has anyone else been hit by an intense feeling of guilt after seeing this? I worked all night and for the whole eight hours and even now there is this gnawing in the pit of my stomach... I can't stop thinking about all the toys that I had and loved as a little boy that ended up in trash... or donated to some thrift store... or the one's that were lost over the years due to my carelessness... Shouldn't something that I loved so much been given a decent sendoff...?

Wow. I can't believe these complex emotions that have been envoked by this film.
