I love that movie! It definitely is THE guilty pleasure movie in a long time.

Jarhead (2005)
Uneven. Had good scenes in it, but also too many stereotypical ones, like the opening part with the drill instructor ('Full Metal Jacket', anyone?) and far too much standard 'so-called 'cool/funny' army slang that has been done before in betetr films.

Marley and Me - Saddest movie I have seen in a while. Wow...the whole audiance reacted to the end of the film like they would at a funeral.

Last night I was feeling really crappy (I'm still not feeling too well), so I popped in:
The Truman Show - I really didn't think it was as good as people said it was. I still liked it, but maybe I should revisit it one day when I'm not all hopped up on Advil and other over-the-counter meds.

Little Miss Sunshine
I never quite got what all the fuss was about. I mean, I like the movie a lot, it is funny and weird and touching and probably one of 2006's best, but I just don't get what all the hype was about.
(And I'll also never understand why Alan Arkin got the Oscar)

Slumdog Millionaire
OMG absolutely my favorite movie I've seen in a very long time. I couldn't really suggest it more, I really hope it wins best picture at the Oscars!

Henry Poole Was Here
Even though I have little faith left in much of anything, including people, this "inspirational" movie is very touching and heartwarming, and all that jazz. It really is a great film, though the ending may be a bit too much of an easy-happy one for some (though not totally unheard of).

Two rode together (1961)
Not fantastic, but good enough for a 1960's Western. Jimmy Stewart was great in it! Interesting psychological portrait more than anything really exciting happening.
Tsotsi (2005)
Beautiful South-African drama. Gangster from the township steals a car with a baby in the back seat. Now he has to take care of him.
Io non ho paura (I'm not scared) (2003)
Amazing. Visuals are breath-taking. Camerawork is impressive. Lead actor of only 13 years old is a delight to watch, his acting both so natural and so convincing. Exciting story, yet not contrived in any way.

Silverado
I liked this one quite a bit. It was entertaining and kinda quirky yet still a serious western, and it has such a great cast. Often westerns are too serious or the characters too much of the same ol' thing.

I love that movie too! And Sophia Bush is one of my fave "young hollywood" actresses.

I think it got so hyped b/c Abigail Breslin was "so darn cute" and it was a huge breakout Oscar nominating role for such a young girl. And I don't know why Alan Arkin got the Oscar either. I was hoping for Mark Wahlberg or Eddie Murphy to get it.

This was a really great movie. I don't know if it's my fave movie, but it
was smartly written/directed. I recommend it as well. Considering the fact that I haven't seen the other Oscar nominees, I don't know who to root for...but judging from the Golden Globes,
Slumdog has a stronger likelihood to win the Oscar.
And...movie just watched...watching
Meet the Robinsons right now. I've seen it before, but I forgot how funny I think it is.

TRON - haven't seen it in a while and decided to pop it in.

And I watched all the bonus features on the 2-Disc DVD last night.

Doubt
8/10
Excellent acting, although I wish the plot was a little more complicated.

I finally popped in my Meet The Robinsons DVD that I've had for over a year and never watched.

Not a bad effort from Disney, although I called the true identity of the villain WAY early, but another major plot point concerning Lewis's future identity definitely had me all "bwuh?"

The Jane Austen Book Club - I really liked it! I'm considering picking up the book now since the film was so good!

I am currently watching Mulan on Disney Channel. I've seen it many times, but it never gets old. I think that it's kind of underrated...it is really, really funny, and it has a lot of heart. A+++!

Never Been Kissed - Very cute. It was well-written, clever, and kept a smile on my face throughout the whole thing. Drew Barrymore may not be the best actress around, but she's got an irresistible on-screen charm that makes me love just about everything she does. I'll definitely be watching this one again.
Oh, and is it just me, or was David Arquette extremely hot in this one?
Blue Collar Comedy Tour - Awful. We watched it just to laugh at how bad we knew it was going to be. If you think jokes about one boob being bigger than the other are funny, than this one's for you.
Repo! The Genetic Disappointment...err, I mean Opera - I probably would have liked it a lot more if I didn't have such high expectations. I found myself wanting it to end more and more as it went on, which is bad when you consider that it's only about 90 minutes long. The performances were mediocre, and it just didn't make much sense overall.

Right after Mulan yesterday, The Lizzie McGuire Movie was on Disney Channel, and I watched that, too! I love Lizzie McGuire, and it's a really cute movie if you're a fan of the show!

I think all the post-Lion King Disney animated features are underrated (computer animated stuff aside), with the exception of Atlantis (which I just thought was pretty weak to carry the Disney name).

(I think that Atlantis is a wonderful movie!)
I just watched The Wild on Disney Channel. I bought the DVD a while ago but never got around to watching it. I really, really enjoyed the movie! It was funny and had heart...I think I give the same review for every movie I watch, lol. But I really enjoyed it. Some parts did remind me of The Lion King, but just a little bit.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Well, after repeat viewings, I can safely say that the mass amount of blood doesn't affect me that much anymore. On occasion I still like to hold my hand up so I can't see it but I usually end up seeing it anyway. Let's just say that it is in my top five favorite musicals.
