That's not a new cover, it was already used for the special edition released in 2008. That edition had some scenes that were reworked to have better animation, I remember the Ariel transformation scene to be revised for example.
This is the cover of that version.
Edit: for example:
This changed in

Woah I love that cover!!! Ariel, Ursula, Flounder, their poses, all great! If her fins were just not huge, and only big enough to cover behind the title, then it would be perfect!

There's a chance that the 3D Combo Pack will be available exclusively through Amazon.com.

I love the leaves growing out of her tail. Nice, silly touch.
But seriously, do not give them any more ideas...

It's listed on Wal-Mart's website and Overstock
Wal-Mart

Overstock

and probably other places too. I'm too tired to look. I'm thinking the 3D combo pack will be available for preorder through Disney Movie Club on August 20th

Thank you !! When I called and they said, absolutely! I was like "pardon? Can you repeat that please??" Made my day !
First of all I will do 2D, then will go for 3D the next week just to see.
I was born in 89 so missed it the first time, then saw the 97 reissue, then again in 2012 when there was a massive Disney movie celebration and countdown in London, preparing for the 50th Classic release of Tangled. They played every Disney classic, one a week for 49 weeks, until the debut of Tangled. So managed to see all my favourites on the big screen which was just plain magical.
So I guess I am really lucky to see it 3 times on the big screen. Extremely grateful.

That's really awesome! I've yet to see TLM in theatres, but I'm sure I will in time. It must be such an odd experience to see it on a big screen for the first time.

Great. And only in the US, the El Capitan, FAR away from where I live (in NY) would only show the film in theaters there. ...
**** YOU, U.S. DISNEY!!!!

You're probably not going to be able to see The Little Mermaid in theaters in the next year, and I'm probably not going to marry Alison Brie. Life isn't fair.

Never give up on that one. Unless maybe when she files a restraining order.

It's a specialist cinema, so not a UK - wide thing. Disney are faaaarrr too busy promoting the instant classic that will be 'Planes'

to bother to promote and release TLM to cinemas the UK over.

Isn't she dating Dave Franco though?
It's funny, when I was with my last girlfriend, she and I made a list of three people each we'd still be allowed to gush about and possibly break up to be with, and when those two were reportedly together, that meant that people on both of our lists were dating. Irony, bto.
