"Oh dear" - HER ACCENT!!!
And by the way,
this commercial spoils the fact that the king is 'the bad one'. I have seen enough of footage by now, I just hope Disney will not release a lot more and spoil the entire movie.
That new TV spot was really good, it could make people excited to see this. So far from all of the footage, I really like the designs of the creatures in the movie, reminds me a bit of
Neverending Story and
The Dark Crystal. Not to mention those wolf-like creatures attacking the guards with Maleficent using her dark magic.
EDIT: Is it me or is the change of the curse from "and die" to "sleep-like death" actually a really evil way to do it than the original? Why? Because Maleficent thinks love is a joke and that Aurora will still be alive but the kingdom can't do anything to save her when that happens, namely to make
King Stefan suffer.

Well, in the interview Angelina Jolie did with Entertainment Weekly, she says that it is more evil than cursing her to die, because she doesn't believe in true love so she thinks true love will never wake her. Personally, I think she should have still said Aurora will die and a good fairy will say she will only sleep and be awoken by true love's kiss, to be more faithful to the film and we feel more like it's
the Maleficent.

When the movie comes out and there
is a scene of her great evil, I'm sure that nothing would matter. When I saw Angelina Jolie finally talk in one of the trailers I was like: she IS Maleficent.

In the Japanese trailer you can hear the dialogue when she is watching baby Aurora from the cabin window. She says "It's so ugly I almost feel sorry for it". I thought that was a pretty funny/cool line and shows that Maleficent actually does go to that evil place and truly despises Aurora....at least for a while.

Yes, I do think it's more cruel. If they believe she can be awakened by true love's kiss, they'll always have hope that she'll wake up.

It's funny that you said that Divinity, I think that while there's hope in the kingdom, Aurora will be young and beautiful in her "sleep-like death", while Stefan and his kingdom withers away in despair and death if the "true love's kiss" never came.

In the leaked script she actually does curse her to death but the good fairy lays that counter curse. However
Maleficent lifts her curse however the good fairies counter curse still remains and Diaval tells Maleficent and rushes to save her and end ups waking her with true loves kiss
So yeah the part of Maleficent saying a sleep like death is differ from the original script.

Reflecting Disney Duster's comment, what is a sleep like death?
A death where you can wake up? Well that's not so bad. A death where it felt like you just fell asleep? Again, not so terrifying (yes it's tragic, but there are much worse afflictions in real life which are much more painful).
A death like sleep surely would be more frightening. She's alive, but she might as well not be...

Maybe the term "sleep-like death" means that you have fallen into a coma-like status that the victim is sleeping but showing no signs of life (pulse, breathing etc.).
That sounds frightning to me.

New French poster …. don't like how Aurora looks like Alice from Alice in Wonderland.
The usual cluttered 'Let's plonk all we can on the poster' poster.

It's still a nice poster regardless, I think that all of the
Maleficent posters have been better than the posters we got for
Alice in Wonderland.

After the other fantastic posters we've been getting, I do think this one is a let down.
I loath the usual copy and paste as many people and backgrounds onto one poster as we possibly can type of posters that all films seem to default to. It's almost as if they're scared of being minimal or even … shock horror … artistic !
The simpler the better I feel.

I don't know why I just now realized she would be called Malefique. That's kind of awesome.
