THis is getting childish. THere is a difference between a type-o and not knowing how to spell a word.

I made a simple mistake dude - I apologize if it offended you. DalamatiAns.

Just a heads up for parents and baby-sitters! Has anyone visited Disneyland or Walt Disney World Resort recently? If you visit one of the stores they have listed, they have coupons for PATF: buy one adult ticket, get one child in free! I just got it because it's a pretty PATF card to put in my wallet.

We've only just got Up on the cinema sreen here in the UK , and in the US it's available on Blu Ray and DVD!!!

I don't know if Disney are releasing Frog in the UK and US simultaneously but I certainly hope so!!

I really don't get Disney's policy with the UK-date... Why make us wait so long for the exact same movie? It just doesn't make sense.

Agreed. The same thing happens here in Malta. The release dates are usually the same as in the UK, or even later (as in BOLT or Up - the latter has still not been released).

Netty once explained that since we in the UK and Malta are English-speaking we tend to get the used, worn prints from US cinemas for a good number of movies (which take more time to arrive) - the logic being that if we can watch films in English, like the Americans, then why produce more prints at an extra cost just so we can see the films a few months earlier (simultaneously)?

I guess that explains why non-English speaking European countries tend to get their films earlier than us!

At least you guys don't have to suffer through dubbed versions.

In The Netherlands we also only get it by February. A shame, it would be so nice to see it round the Christmas Holiday.

In my country mostly an original version of a Disney/Pixar movie is released alongside the dubbed one (though there were times only one or two theatres in one or two towns had one) I'm quite sure there will be an original version of TPatF. Point is you musn't wait to long to go, or else only the dubbed version is left.

I watched dubbed versions of Disney movies as a kid, but it did not much hamper my enjoyment. Now I prefer the original ones. (another advantage of watching the original: less noisy little kids)

No such luck here, since 2003 we get only the dubbed versions. The only two exceptions were "The Incredibles" and "Up", mostly because Pixar films are perceived to be more for adults, whereas anything with a Disney stamp on it is seen as kid stuff .

I remember The Little Mermaid being released in Dutch only, as far as I can tell; Beauty & the Beast was at least in the original language in one cinema in The Hague; from Aladdin to Lilo &Stitch I was always able to catch an original version. After that it grew more difficult (but I was also a little less interested in the 'classic' Disney movies that followed). If TPaTF is as heavily promoted a the Disney movies of the 90's, it should be released in the orginal version too. (let's hope so!)

Ok, I'm done being childish now. Just know that the word "dalmatian" is probably the most misspelled word in the Disney canon (something I actually read in a Disney book years ago). If you're gonna point out such mistakes to others, be prepared for others to do the same to you.

Speaking of Menken's music style, I feel he would've been capable of writing good music for the film. He's shown his versatility over and over again. However, Newman has the opportunity to tread on familiar ground with all the jazzy stuff because he's well versed in it. I can't wait to hear the film's songs in Finnish and English.

As far as Finnish dubs go (especially the ones directed by Pekka Lehtosaari), I actually find them more enjoyable than the original English voices (although I certainly appreciate the originals). Our dubs have a very good quality, and the translations really shine. Over here both Pixar and Disney films get dubbed, and so far the dubs have been fine. Too bad we have to wait until February to see the film, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Well, it wouldn't have truly been a return to classic hand-drawn Disney musicals, if we didn't get a cheap rip-off, now, would it?
