Also, at Comic Con, Once & Galavant have their own castle !

Here you are, it looks like Elsa is talking to Kristoff in this scene. So , I'm assuming that it's a flashback in Arendelle.

So, the Frozen plot line is pretty much Frozen 2.
The clip opens with Frozen's Anna (Elizabeth Lail) and Elsa (Georgina Haig) putting flowers on their parents' gravestones, with Elsa telling her sister, "Anna, they would be so proud of you." But that's not all, Elsa breaks the news that she has a surprise for Anna — but not just any surprise, it's for her wedding. The Frozen story line on Once will take place after the events of Disney's Oscar-winning film.

Doesn't surprise me but I do wonder does this take place before or after the first curse.

The "official" sequel of the movie?

This is definitely done only for the money.

They look exactly like the characters and sets in in the movie! Seems like Once really doesn't want to change anything about these characters...

Am I the only one who finds this series completely unwatchable?

I've tried. But it's just soooo... bad. What do people see in it?

Beats me. I watched S1 all the way through hoping it would get better but gave up afterwards. It's the worst form of fan-fiction -- and one that is fully supported (or rather pushed) by the official creator -- with some of the lowest production values I've seen on television. And the dialogues are just beyond cringe-worthy.

Sad thing is, I honestly think the show could have been really good if it wasn't an ABC show and if it lost all connections to Disney films.

No. I hate it too!

I wholeheartedly agree. And I only saw eight episodes of the first season.

And look how desperate they've become!

'Galavant' and 'Into the Woods' will hopefully save the day.

That doesn't really surprise considering how popular Fozen is, Disney probably wanted the characters's look on Once, be very faithful to the film. Once is walking a fine line doing a Frozen arc and they don't want to mess it up butnat has to be better than Zelena for the last half of season 3. I swear, Zelena is right behind Greg and Tamara as the worst Once Upon A Time villain.

No, I also watched like a few episodes of it, I thought it was just stupid. Normally i'm not so harsh towards these type of fairy tale "reinventions" but this was just dumb...

I think Fable Comics did a better job of the "modernizing fairy tales" storyline.

I ended up ordering the the DVD for season 3 .... I have a multi-region bluray player, but I've never actually tried R1 DVDs in it .... Will it still be the same principle and work even if it's DVD?

And extremely interesting they're doing the sequel of sorts!!
No surprise they look the same; Makes comeplete sense because of how huge frozen is in the world.

It's so nice to have a bunch of non-viewers drop a load and then fly away (if only they'd stay away). We need to give them a hate thread, just like with Glee, so the actual viewers don't have to sort through the bait.

well Ive been watching since season one and Im still hanging in there, but sorry, its really gone downhill since the first season. Mostly Im watching b/c Im hoping they bring back August, a character with great potential who was compelety wasted. Also it kills time before I tune into Walking Dead. :D

I also started watching the show from the first episode and I really liked the first season. However, halfway during season 2 I just lost interest so I stopped watching.

I did watch some episodes when I heard that a character I liked was going to appear (like the Ariel and Tinkerbell episodes). So I was vaguely aware of the general storyline but I also missed a lot of things. For example, somebody posted about two characters a few posts back (Greg and Tamara?) but I've got no idea who they are..?

Then during the second half of season 3 I heard they were doing Oz and since I love Oz stories I started watching again. So now I'm watching the show again.

I ordered season 2 on dvd and I've been wanting to catch up but I haven't done it yet. After that I also have to watch the first half of season 3.

I doubt it. Grimm was much worse. I personally feel the show only works as well as it does because it's on ABC; the average person associates these stories with Disney, so it's nice for them to be able to use ideas/looks from Disney when they want where another show would have to be careful to tiptoe around any similarities.
Old Fish Tale wrote:

Only someone who has no idea what they're talking about would consider the use of Frozen "desperate." You've admitted you haven't watched beyond the first 8 episodes which was 3 years ago, so how would you of all people have any idea about what the show has become? It's perfectly fine if you don't like the show or feel it's a bad, imo (and good riddance, I say), but there is nothing desperate here. If anything, you could say the film was possibly pushed for by executives, but there is also the slim possibility that the creators of the show were inspired by the same movie that blew up in the media and enjoyed it just as much as most people. Another thing that is beyond understanding for you, apparently, if the Frozen thread is any indication.

Into the Woods will unquestionably be superior to this show, but Galavant? The show will only be good for the music and will probably be cancelled before the season's over. The actors and the humor already look unimpressive. It is what it is, but to pretend it's going to be something profound is beyond hopeful wishing and breaching delusional. I wish it well, however, for Alan Menken's sake if nothing else.
thedisneyspirit wrote:Normally i'm not so harsh towards these type of fairy tale "reinventions" but this was just dumb...
I find that very hard to believe since your hatred of fairy tales is pretty much nonstop. It actually reminds me of another member here you always complain about who repeats the same thing over and over.
Atlantica wrote:I ended up ordering the the DVD for season 3 .... I have a multi-region bluray player, but I've never actually tried R1 DVDs in it .... Will it still be the same principle and work even if it's DVD?
I wish I could help, but I unfortunately have no experience ordering DVDs from another country and understanding regions, etc. I do hope you enjoy season 3 though; I would say I enjoyed it overall, much better than season 2, but not equal to the first season, of course. Not that the first season is the holy grail of TV (before the above quoted decide to have another go), but I thought it was decent quality. I consider very few shows on TV anymore "high-quality," just niche pandering.
supertalies wrote:I also started watching the show from the first episode and I really liked the first season. However, halfway during season 2 I just lost interest so I stopped watching.
I don't blame you for that. Season 2 really spun off its wheels. I've noticed that's pretty common with hit shows, for whatever reason. I will say season 2 is better watched all at once, but I would agree it was a big downgrade from the first year.

I don't if this has been posted here but Ginnifer Goodwin taped a special message for Comic Con, she was on set in Vancouver with her and Josh Dallas's son. It's really funny and cute. Also watch all the way through for a special cameo.

Micheal Socha aka The Knave from Once Upon A Time In Wonderland appears at the end of the video getting knokced out by Ginnifer. This pretty much confirms The Knave will be on season 4

Very happy about that! OUATiW was much worse than the hub show, but I enjoyed several of the actors. I wonder what role he will play?
