Pretty soon, they won't be replacing our damaged slipcovers unless we give them our damaged ones for a new one! :headshake:

Precisely! If too many abuse the complimentary service; they will have to implement measures to reduce the exploitation by some. In the end, it will be harder for those of us, who are honest and only occasionally request a new slipcase

I ordered 2 slipcovers on FRI the 6th (Beauty and the Beast, Pirates) and 1 Slipcover on Monday the 9th (A Bug's Life). Today (Monday the 16th) he mailman buzzes my door and says he has some mail that can't be fit in my mailbox. So I go down and get mail he was talking about..it was the 3 Slipcovers I ordered, but in two envolopes. Everything was going great until I opened the BUGS LIFE to see there was a crease in it. So I call them and report I got the slipcover but it was damaged!!!! I was on hold for 2-3 mins. I had to explain what had happened, and on hold again for 2-3 mins. I had to expalin that one of the envoloped had a crease it it, and it mess up the slipcover. So I went on hold for the 3rd time!!! Lady comes back, and says thanks for waiting.........She said they will send another cover but they wont anymore for that movie (one slipcover per movie). I really got lucky, anyways as a token of appretaion I went ahead and asked her IF I buy MARRY POPPINS $19.99 from them that it will come with a slipcover. I was on hold for like 10 secs, and she said yes it will..So I bought it from them. Thats is my story..........

I called Disney Customer Service today and was told that they will only send slipcovers if the DVD I owned previously had a slipcover and it was damaged. I am a little upset. I joined Disney DVD Club and ordered 5 DVD's. What surprised me the most is that Mary Poppins had no slip cover but Alice in Wonderland did. I could have gone to my local Circuit City and bought Mary Poppins with a splipcover had I known this was going to happen. I was hoping to order slipcovers for Mary Poppins, Finding Nemo, and A Bug's Life. However, I won't be able to do this. Anyone else had a similar experience lately? Are they getting tougher with the slipcovers? How would they know if the DVD I owned previously had a slipcover? Are they requiring people to send back their "damaged" slipcovers now?

No, you don't have to send them back, I ordered 3 slipcovers, an only had one of them, which was damaged (Marry Poppins), the velcro didn't meet up. They just said is there something wrong w/your other ones, and I go "yeah" (there was, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY!), but I omitted that part. Just tell them you need them, if they say "why", then go bc my were damaged. I think bc of this forum, there are ppl calling everyday and maybe it's bugging them. Usually if you get direct from DMC you get a slipcover... *shrugs*

Disney hopes to sell lots on the week of the DVD's release therefore they do the 'limited slipcover' deal. Which is pretty stupid in my opinion.

Leave the slipcovers on so the Disney DVD fans can stop calling the Disney Customer Service, otherwise it's just gonna keep getting abused.

I don't know what the BIG DEAL is with SLIPCOVERS!!!! Disney should make like a million more SLIPCOVERS then the DVD they release. So if there is a damaged Slipcover, they will just send it to us. I mean are they really losing money when they send us the covers??? They are making millions on DVDS the lease they can do, is not make it hard and just send what we want!!! They send me everything that I want, but yesterday my BUGS LIFE slipcovers was damaged when they send it to me, and it was HELL trying to get a replacment!!! I got one though coming along with MARRY POPPINS DVD(with slipcover)

I called them again since I am not one to give up easily. I only managed to order a slipcover for Mary Poppins though. The rep I spoke to this time was actually pretty nice. I didn't want to push my luck and ask for A Bug's Life or Finding Nemo. Maybe i'll call back in a few weeks for those two. Although if I don't get those two it won't bother me as much as Mary Poppins since that one actually opens into a book.

I ordered MARRY POPPINS DVD (5/16) from the number where everybody gets the SLIPCOVERS. The women told me it would come with a slipcover, and it did'nt!!!! Does anybody know if the DVD 1st then the Slipcover??? What I am really asking is whoebver ordered from that number...does the slipcover come with the DVD together?

Normally everything comes at once. Don't see why they would make 2 different shipments. If the DVD has a slip cover it should come as a total package.

When you order from Disney, it should come as ONE shipment...the DVD together with the slipcover. I don't see why your Mar Poppins wasn't shipped with the slipcover if you were told it was. :?

Question about Customer Service

If I want to call in to Disney Customer Service to get a Sleeping Beauty DVD slipcase, do they ask your ages? I'm fourteen and still live in parents' house, so do they care how old you are?

Posted: Sat May 21, 2005 7:50 pm
by Nala
I've never been asked my age. All they ask for is your address and I think your phone number and possible e-mail address.

You needn't start a new thread that relates to the Disney Customer Service; all questions, comments, and concerns (if any) should be directed to this thread:

http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... php?t=7216

In answer to your question, no they do not ask for your age.
Name and Address is all.
And e-mail address if you have.

how many DVD slipcases can you ask for at a time ?(the maximun amount you can get at one time for free)

Posted: Sat May 21, 2005 9:16 pm
by PMcOuntry
Depends on the person you get I think, but I think the max at one time is like 5 and if you call back w/in a month, it's noted and they'll say something.

Heard anywhere from 3 - 5 total you can get from them at all.
Doubt if they would send you that many at once. Best thing to
do is ask for two and then try again at another time..
