I didn't read the book yet but Miyazaki doing it sounds divine!

That actually sounds like something right up his alley. I'd be all for that.

This movie never recieved any home media release in Scandinavia because of low box office results. Any other countries where this movie never was released on DVD or Blu-ray too?

Really? That's unfortunate. Crazy to think a movie's release is dependent on how popular it is. I mean, I get that thinking with older films that are being re-released less often than more popular films, but you'd think a new film would get at least one release regardless.

Do you remember if films like Treasure Planet, John Carter, The Lone Ranger, or Tomorrowland were ever released on home video in Scandinavia?

Yes, those movies were released here. But not "A wrinkle in time" and the first, last and only "Disneynature" documentary we got on DVD and Blu-ray was Chimpanzee.

I'm surprised a film like John Carter was released since I thought that was even a bigger flop. Although to be fair, John Carter got a lot of negative press in the media, I don't remember A Wrinkle in Time getting as much attention. Most people didn't seem to even care or realize it had come out and the few articles there were about it were usually comparing it to Black Panther and trying to gauge how realistic it was for mainstream films with a black lead or cast to be successful and if Black Panther was the exception.

I do remember reading that Disney didn't bother giving A Wrinkle in Time a theatrical release in several markets. The movie ended up making only $32 million internationally, which is a little sad for a special effects-filled fantasy film with a $100 million+ budget.

Here is a list of the countries where the movie opened and how much money it made in those territories. Outside of North America, its biggest market was Russia, where it grossed only $6 million.

Disney's treatment of the film outside of the United States and Canada was definitely an odd one and you can tell they unfortunately didn't have much confidence in its international performance.

This is an off-the-wall question and I'm not sure if anyone can answer it. On Amazon, there's only one page for the CD version of this film's soundtrack and for some reason the it's labeled "(German)"... I'm not sure why. I was thinking of buying this for "Warrior" by Halle & Chloe, plus I kind of liked the vibe of the film's music, but I'm just wondering if the song wouldn't be in English if I bought it through Amazon? Or maybe the soundtrack was the same for every country and it wouldn't matter?

It's strange that it says "German", but I don't think the songs were recorded by local artists for other countries in this case. I searched for the soundtrack on Amazon Germany and the titles, performers and snippets are the same, so I think the one on Amazon.com will be the same as the US soundtrack as well.

Thank you so much! :D :pink: That's what I was assuming was the case, I just wanted to double check, if possible.

No problem. :) Enjoy the soundtrack if you end up buying it!

^ It turned out fine. Got "Warrior" on repeat right now. :) It was one of those soundtracks I planned to get at some point because I enjoyed "Warrior" when I checked it out around the time Halle Bailey was first cast as Ariel to get a feel of what she'd sound like. And the album was available at a low price recently, so that was the time if I was ever going to. :D

This passage from book i use to support my headcanon that Charles Wallace and Meg are both Autistic ! ”“Don’t worry about Charles Wallace, Meg,” her father had once told her. Meg remembered it very clearly because it was shortly before he went away. “There’s nothing the matter with his mind. He just does things in his own way and in his own time”

“I don’t want him to grow up dumb like me,” Meg had said.

“Oh, my darling, you’re not dumb” her father answered. “You’re like Charles Wallace. Your development has to go at its own pace. It just doesn’t happen to be the usual pace”

“How do you know?” Meg had demanded. “How do you know I’m not dumb? Isn’t it just because you love me?”

“I love you, but that’s not what tells me. Mother and I’ve given you a number of tests, you know.”

Yes, this was true. Meg had realized that some of the “games” her parents played with her were tests of some kind, and there had been more for her and Charles Wallace than for the twins. “IQ tests, you mean?”

“Yes, some of them.”

“Is my IQ okay?”

“More than okay.”

“What is it?”

“That I’m not going to tell you. But it assures me that both you and Charles Wallace will be able to do pretty much whatever you want when you grow up to be yourselves. You just wait till Charles Wallace starts to talk. You’ll see.”

How right he had been about that, though he himself had left before Charles Wallace began to speak, suddenly, with none of the usual baby preliminaries, using entire sentences. How proud he would have been!”

There so few canonly Autistic Characters :( :( (and even few accurate ones   ) , so i and my other Autistics make tons of headcanons instead!

Also Meg has dyslexia which fairly common in autistics.
