Yes, that's exactly what happened. Hans Zimmer didn't like the original mix of the score, which were made by Jay Rifkin, so for this release, he took all original recording tapes and Alan Meyerson, Hans' long partner for recording and mixing, and they remixed to the way Hans think it should sound. That's why this release sounds different than the movie and previous records.

And WOW, the Sleeping Beauty cover looks nice. So that's why they stopped releasing the Lost Chords.
I was hoping that they would release some films that don't have a soundtrack yet, like The Rescuers.
Can't wait for The Little Mermaid.

Looking at film release dates, excluding sequels, package films, and everything after 2000, I was just looking at the coming anniversaries (if they continue to follow the ending in -5 or -0 rule):

Alice in Wonderland 65th in 2016
Bedknobs and Broomsticks 45th in 2016
One Hundred and One Dalmatians 55th in 2016
The Fox and the Hound 35th in 2016
The Hunchback of Notre Dame 20th in 2016
Beauty and the Beast 25th in 2016
Dumbo 80th in 2016

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 80th in 2017
Bambi 75th in 2017
The Jungle Book 50th in 2017
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 40th in 2017
Aladdin 25th in 2017
Hercules 20th in 2017
The Rescuers 40th in 2017

Peter Pan 65th in 2018
The Sword in the Stone 55th in 2018
Robin Hood 45th in 2018
Mulan 20th in 2018
Oliver and Company 30th in 2018

There is also the The Great Mouse Detective 30th and the Tarzan 15th in 2014, and The Black Cauldron 30th in 2015 although they were all ignored. Honestly, that leads me to believe that TSitS, Robin Hood, TF&tH, The Rescuers and Oliver & Company will be ignored. Hunchback and Hercules are up in the air, since Pocahontas was included, but they have been ignored more than Pocahontas in the past as well... Then again, there's The Aristocats, but maybe that's because it's popular in other countries outside the U.S.?

I really hope The Black Cauldron is added in the post-August area next year.

But Intrada already released the Black Cauldron (probably the same for the other titles not on the list since it could mean Intrada will release them) unless you think there was more that needed to be added.

Another title that needs to be in the 2016 list is Monsters Inc., The Great Muppet Caper, and Muppet Treasure Island which turn 15, 35, and 20 respectively that year.

I wonder if this line will include Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Nightmare Before Christmas though?

Haha Divinity I went through and did the same thing with all the anniversaries. They *better* extend this thing. I hope sales are good.

For the sake of consistency, I'd like to see *all* the films included in the Legacy Collection... but I doubt we'll ever see a better release for the Black Cauldron than Intrada's, which is as complete as it's gonna get. I just wish Intrada was a little more active with their Disney license. They made a big deal about it when they started, but haven't done much with it. Black Cauldron, 20000 Leagues, Black Hole... anything else? I wish they'd get into more of the obscure animated stuff... it definitely seems the perfect outlet for those films that most likely won't be getting a Legacy release.

Also I don't know if this was posted already but Lion King Legacy is now available digitally, including iTunes and Spotify!

Oh, my bad, I just glanced over the first two pages and didn't see anything that looked like a list, so I went ahead and posted. :P I had done them for myself, but just thought I'd drive-by while I had them written out.

About Intrada (which I already knew about)--they don't sell through Amazon, do they?

Oh I didn't mean I had posted the list, just done it for personal reference.

I believe they only work through their own online store unfortunately. On the forum on their site they recently teased two "big Disney projects", so hopefully they are animated scores.

I try not to spread my financial info. to more places than I have to, but if Intrada does TSitS, I'll definitely have to buy it. I'll probably get TBC (and any others) at the same time if that happens and they're still available. I hope TGMD is one of those projects being talked about, if it concerns their animated films.

Actually they do. That's where I got the Muppets Most Wanted/Muppets score.

I hope the price comes down before the release date or a few months after; it amazes me how overpriced Disney things are. I thought $15 for TLK was also high, but the packaging/extra score was worth it. Hopefully MP Legacy will come down to 15-17 (at least) eventually.

I dont know why they wouldnt do Oliver & Co considering how nostalgic people are about 80s pop music right now...
maybe Intrada will do it...do they make physical releases or digital only?

$15 too high?? It was a 2-disc set. $6.99 a disc. That's not overpriced at all.

I just can't wait for The Little Mermaid to be released in this collection … to hear it all remastered etc will be breathtaking I'm sure ! I hope they include the theatrical version of 'POYW' instead of the soundtrack one.

And the theatrical 'A Whole New World' too, instead of the soundtrack version.

Maybe it's because I just don't think music without voices is worth as much. *shrug*

Meanwhile I'm gearing up for $30USD for a standard jewel case aussie version.

Ever watch an orchestra or symphony perform or record these works? Certainly doesn't feel like their worth less than vocalists when you do.

Well. It looks like Hot Topic will be continuing their collection of Vinyl LPs.
The latest are Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin:

They're already out on their website:
Beauty and the Beast: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/WhatsN ... 255838.jsp

Aladdin:

And I actually played the lion king and mermaid vinyls that they released and they are pretty good. Definitely worth the purchase, especially at $27 each.. Better than the $80 Frozen vinyl.

Ahahaha!!
I completely forget about the release because I'm not getting it.
I really hope that at least some people bought the soundtrack, as I would hate to see this collection end because of one bad release.
