I wish some of these were coming out with the launch. Monsters University, The Incredibles, Cars, Pirates, and the Lone Ranger is a pretty weak group to start out. If it was going to be all Pixar/live action, I wish at least Toy Story was one of the first sets. And what a waste of time including The Lone Ranger was.

I hope Frozen and/or Wreck-It Ralph end up getting a playset but I doubt it. I don't know if the individual figures are worth the money considering they can only be used in the toy box mode.

Kinda hard to detect sarcasm from you. lol Sorry about that. I wasn't angry or anything over it. Just perplexed at first.

I've been thinking long and hard if or when I will get into this. For right now in time, I need to pass due to the price. Perhaps at some point I might get into this, but for now the biggest thing looking me in the eye is the price itself.

Here's why: according to IGN.com's Disney Infinity Wiki, the 3DS version WILL NOT have any of the Toy Box and world-building features of the bigger console versions. Instead, the 3DS version will only have a series of minigames, like Nintendo's "Mario Party" series.

I currently don't have anything reserved, though thanks for the tip about the 3DS. I will definitely avoid that if I eventually do get into this at some point

I'm still lamenting that they seem to have removed Frankenweenie after that movie underperformed.

But this looks great......for a used purchase later. I'm not paying $75 for a game and glorified DLC.

It'd still be an expensive used purchase seeing as you'd have to get all the pieces of the starter set to be playable.

Oh for sure, but I'm not financially comfortable enough to get it yet, and I figured the starter set would be sold used as well.

What do you think they'll do about The Lone Ranger being on there, if Frankenwenie was pulled for flopping?

I was wondering that myself.

My theory is that The Lone Ranger Playset won't be available too long. Perhaps a short supply will be made since it's too late to pull it completely at this point.

If anyone is interested in them I suggest you buy it sooner than others. Again that's just my theory on it.

If the Collector's Edition of Epic Mickey 1 is still shelfwarming at original retail price at my local Wal-Mart, then I don't think the Lone Ranger playsets will be selling like hotcakes.

However Disney could limit the number of these being made and stop shipping them given what a huge colossal failure The Lone Ranger was. Epic Mickey Video game is meant to be keep being made and made and made while Disney Infinity figures aren't just a game with a disc at all, they are very collectible. I wouldn't be surprised if some people just buy the figures and not play the game.

I'm at least gonna give the game a shot, but I'm definitely looking most forward to collecting the figures themselves.

I will give it a shot as well, just not for a few months. Perhaps in November or December, after I pay for my PS4.

just pixar characters and tangled characters. Where are Cinderella ,Aurora ,and Bellle? Are they just going to be power ups?

I'm sure they'll be in there eventually. The game hasn't even launched yet and they've already announced the second wave of characters, which added quite a bit of variety. There's more to come.

I would love a single figure from each animated film. I know some of them certainly aren't likely though.

Yeah, it seems like common sense they would start with their most relevant franchises, ie, the ones that are most recent. Then sprinkle in the classics little by little.

So apparently this is about to a lot more popular than the interest on this forum would suggest. They released it early today at Downtown Disney, and I went to pick up a copy. I left empty handed because they were already completely SOLD OUT of both the xbox and the ps3 versions. I guess there was a big line up before DTD opened this morning and they sold out before noon. The guy I talked to said they didn't expect it to go so quick. I'm glad that's definitely a good sign for the game, but I'm bummed I missed out!

Anybody else care to chime in about this game? It seems there's only about 3 or 4 of us that post in this topic. I'm curious why no one else seems interested? There's definitely a lot of interest on the facebook page, and the members of the Infinity fan forum are almost crazed over it... why not here?

I don't know. Speaking for myself, I'm neither a big gamer nor a figurine collector so this project doesn't really appeal to me. I'm not too fond of the character redesigns either.
