Thanks, worked perfect for me.
I really hope, this is due to a mastering or pressing error. The artifacts in those scenes are distracting and shouldn't appear with a 90 minute film on Blu-ray- even if they'd used a dated codec (which they didn't)

I hope, these issues won't appear on the other releases and would advice you to contact Disney about it. @lnds500

No, I can perfectly see what you mean. In the videos as well as in some screencaps. The worst is imho the one I reposted from blu-ray.com

But who knows, maybe it is really an error. Last year they messed up the German audio track on the Lion King 2 blu-ray, so even Disney isn't perfect.

OT: (At least they are not as sloppy as WB and Universal... Can't count the disc replacement programs, these two had to organize. Warner even managed to mess up the replacement disc for Sucker Punch in Germany, because in one scene the original sound effects were suddenly missing. They called it an 'Alternate mixing for the German market' to save the costs for a second replacement -.-)

The one with them touching hands doesn't bother me a actually...It just looks like a subtle film grain. The hair is so dark it didn't even grab my attention at first. Also, the fact that its meant to be raining in that shot makes it blend a bit in that scene so that's another reason it might not bother me much there.

But yeah, the rest of those are inexcusable. I think these same errors were present in the broadcast version of it I've seen not too long ago. At the time I just assumed it was do the compression comcast applies to most of their channels.

It looks looks film grain but it's not though. And mind you, no grain should be expected on digital films. If they had done it as an artistic choice it wouldn't matter, but this...

Its more apparent that its not film grain in the shot a couple posts up. When it covers a bigger space you can see its digital blockyness. Definitely shouldn't be there.

Is the Blu-ray significantly any different in terms of picture/colors compared to the DVD/VHS? Because I never got the DVD and I haven't watched the movie in YEARS. I mean, I know Pocahontas's Blu-ray quality is different in terms of colors, but what about Tarzan? The only difference that I'm sure about is the aspect ratio: 1.78:1. :?

Except the movie's more high-definition, right?

NeverLand, does the Arabic Tarzan BD exhibit the same problems as Lnds500's Greek copy? The Youtube videos you posted have to much Youtube-derived macroblocking to determine whether the annoying artefact is there.

It's there, I noticed the same artifacts in some of the songs. Plus, look here for a review of the Middle-Eastern release

http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p ... stcount=97

Plus, that was the Russian release, not the Greek one

Thank you Lnds500. Would you then consider the DVD to be a more accurate representation of the film, seeing as it doesn't have that video noise? Or is the Blu-ray, warts and all, still the better of the two?

depends on whether you like the added resolution and the extra clarity. I'll be watching my blu-ray, that's for sure. But I'm not happy with it

Well, I suppose I'll be watching the "faulty" Blu-ray too. I love crisp lineart.
