With these numbers, Incredibles 3 can't be far behind.

I'm glad to hear that. If there's any Pixar series that deserves a full franchise, it's this one. Unlike Cars.

Another Disney/Pixar teaser showing nothing of the actual movie. Yay groundbreaking

Still better than the Tangled and Frozen teasers.

Michael Giacchino didn't want a sequel to The Incredibles.
Q: Next year comes Incredibles 2. How excited are you to revisit these characters that launched your movie career in 2004?
Michael Giacchino: I'm both excited and terrified, because that was my first movie, and I spent that entire film thinking I was gonna get fired. I was like, "why are they hiring me for this? I've only done TV and video games, I can't believe they want me for this." I loved it so much. Once it was over, I thought, 'great, we did it! We pulled it off. We never have to do that again.' And then, when [director] Brad [Bird] came back to me and was like, "hey, we're gonna make another one!" I'm like, "No, let's not! We did it right, let's let it go! Why would we do that to ourselves?" [Laughs] I want it to be good -- and I know it will be. I'm excited to get back into it, but there's that trepidation of looking back at the thing you did that you hoped could just be that one moment in time.

I imagine that's a feeling most people have working at Disney/PIXAR these days.

I wonder if part of the reason behind the decision to keep the characters the same age was the excuse of allowing them to re-make all the models which they could then use to update/restore the original film. :/

Restore it to what? The original movie is already at its original beauty. The only thing they would do is render it in 4k or something. Plus, these new models are more than likely incompatible with the original animation software, meaning they would have to re animate everything from scratch. They could never justify it.
Edit: I found an even higher res shot of the pic posted earlier.

Wish I could find a version without those nasty compression artifacts though.

It was just a stupid thought that came to mind.

I'll admit I know very little about how 3D films are created or restored, and don't have much interest to learn. I was just thinking of how Kingdom Hearts updated the first game's graphics when they re-created new models for another game 13+ yrs after-the-fact. Although I think you're right, they did have to re-animate everything in that case.

Looking forward to the art book. I have the first one and love it, I just hope there's a bit less of the hyper abstract flat paper stuff and more fleshed out sketches/paintings.
