The thing that also surprise me was that all special features from the 2002 Special Edition has it on the 2011 Special Edition too. Even the "As Long As There Christmas" by Play music video.
Glad to hear the quality was great! I got my copy on release day, but I haven't watched it yet. I think I'm going to watch it this week, though. :)

I've never watched this before, but am a huge BatB fan. I think I'm going to pick it up this weekend, and I'll try to keep my expectations down, although thats hard to do in a movie where Tim Curry plays the villain. Specifically a vengeful ORGAN named Forte. Wow, that sounds awesome.

Did anyone here order these from Amazon?

And if so, did they arrive with slipcovers?

(the dvd editions)

Yup...;)

All my Disney's have a slipcover...and I like it to stay that way.
Especially because I'm ordering from Europe and prolly have to import duties and such, I just like em to have that little extra....;)

Yes, I did order through Amazon! I pre-ordered it so it came on its release day. I know it's a limited number of copies that have slipcovers but I'd imagine less than a month after its release, there should still be slipcovers in stock.

I see what you mean. Do you like the American releases better than the European or have they just not released the sequels there yet?

They did release the sequels last year, but no slipcovers and dutch titles on cover. However, they also released a 4 Disc Trilogy box set, that I did buy though.

I do like the American releases better and prefer them over European releases. I don't like the spinal numbering they do here. Plus, I also think the American slipcovers are a lot more shinier and nicer.

BUT...importing is a b*tch... Next time I'm in the States, I should really befriend someone who could order with Amazon (free shipping within US) and then send it to me through regular mail. 8)

Wow, so they keep the darker color hues on the DTVs but they brighten them up on the original? That’s not right. Somebody didn’t get the memo that the DTVs are supposed to have the Saturday Morning color scheme, not the theatrical features. What I would give to have Cogsworth brown like he is here (and in NeverLand’s official replica of him) and not red like he is on the Blu-ray.

BTW, this is playing in HD on Disney Channel. I watched it, mainly to observe the use of colors, and was really taken away with just how bad this movie is. Throw it back in the vault with Song of the South and we’ll all pretend it never existed.
