Several films coming up including Iron Man 2, first Marvel film to be released since that acquisition was completed.
And at the shareholders meeting, they showed the trailer.

I didn't know that Iron Man 2 was through Disney; the trailer says Marvel & Paramount...? I guess I just don't understand how the Disney/Marvel thing works for movies.

I thought the films themselves were being produced by Marvel Studios - which obviously is a division of Disney now - while Marvel individually (before the acquisition) had already made a deal with Paramount to distribute a certain amount of films including this one. I'm not sure if this is correct, but it seems to make the most sense.

The X-Men, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Punisher and Spider-Man films however are not produced by Marvel Studios themselves, which is also the reason Disney wouldn't promote those. Or so I've been told.

So it's just assumed that it's a Disney movie; since the Marvel banner is there & Marvel is a part of Disney, Disney doesn't need to have their name there? So it's like Touchstone in that sense?

Yeah, I guess. With Marvel technically being a Disney brand now. I would call it a movie produced by a division of Disney - only distributed by Paramount.

Now that Disney owns Marvel, does that mean they can release Muppet Babies, or is that already a given since they own The Muppets already?

What in the world does Marvel have to do with The Muppet Babies?? :? Did I miss somethhing?

Weirdly enough, Muppet Babies was indeed produced by Jim Henson Productions and Marvel Productions. Though Marvel Productions was sold to New World Entertainment, who in turn sold the Marvel produced shows to Saban Entertainment. Meaning that Disney already has the rights to Muppet Babies since 2002 - when they bought Saban Entertainment.

But as for releasing the show. I'm afraid the acquisition of Marvel will not help to get Muppet Babies out on dvd, since the show relies heavily on live-action sequences from other movies. Meaning that the episodes would be cut up so badly, with most songs removed - which makes it a useless effort. So I think it's safe to say that Muppet Babies will not become available on any home video medium - well at least not all of the episodes.

And this is Disney we're talking about, I mean truth be told, I don't think they actually care about their own animated television shows, let alone the ones they got through acquisitions.

That lawsuit was based on nothing. I'm glad Disney didn't have to pay any money to freeloaders. I always wondered why they waited so long to sue Marvel, but now it makes perfect sense.

Iron Man Visits Disneyland

http://www.mouseplanet.com/9237/Lot_of_Anger
With the Disney Company’s acquisition of Marvel, the Disney Stores and the Disney Store Web site are now carrying Marvel superhero clothing, toys and figures. And beginning next month, locations within the Disneyland Resort will begin selling merchandise tied to the new Iron Man 2 film.

As far as which shops will carry the merchandise, one worker speculated at the World of Disney, as well as the larger locations inside the parks. “Judging from history, the Emporium and Star Trader are likely places,” he said. “When the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were popular, those locations sold their toys.”

Even more interesting will be what Walt Disney World decides to do with the merchandise—since the Marvel superheros are among the signature characters of their archrival, the Universal Resort.
