This is a pass for me. I was rather disappointed with this film and much perfer the "Planet Earth" documentaries. Though there was some new footage in the film, most was just recycled from the series.

I've looked it up before, but never read about it in language I can understand. In little kid language, what is an O-sleeve?

I don't know if this will be an immediate buy, but I did enjoy the film (except for the death moments). I wonder how/if Planet Earth's sales will dig into Earth's sales.

From what I understand, an o-sleeve is a slipcover in "Disney-marketing language".

The DVD looks awesome! I'll definitely be getting it.

I'm so disappointed that Disney isn't going with the eco-friendly DVD/Bluray cases! They should've done it like they did with the WALL-E release or atleast go with the cases that use less plastic (i.e. Mall Cop)! How could they claim themselves to be "environmentally concious" when they are mass producing a unenvironmentally friendly product. I hope they change thier minds before the release. But regardless this is a definite buy for me.

I like how they present the inclusion of a slipcover on the ad in the same fashion as an extra disc of bonus features or lithograph. Who wants that other crap when people can get another slipcover to add to their kid's collection of slipcovers used to make bridges in the sandbox. I must have almost enough slipcovers to build a doghouse for my family's Shetland pony-sized mixbreed.[/snark]

The movie is marvelous but I'm debating whether to get it or the Planet Earth show DVDs.

I really want to see this one. I got all the "True Life Adventures" on DVD and look forward to this new line of nature themed films.

It's nothing. I just love the fact they call them "o-sleeves"! So professional, you know, I'm sure nobody wants to pick up a DVD without an "o-sleeve"!

unfair! us aussies missed out on the all-mighty o-sleeve!

anyhow, did anyone else misread the quote at the bottom? I kept reading it as "MUCH BETTER THAN MARCH OF THE PENGUINS" and subsequently couldn't stop laughing. Read correctly, it's still pretty funny, albeit synical.

I am not sure if I want to rent this or not after hearing that it is just a recycled version of Planet Earth.

I'll probably be picking it up. Saw it twice in the theater. It would be great if partial proceeds of your purchase would go to some environmental conservation/sustainability efforts.

I'm looking forward to the other DisneyNature movies and am still wondering when the heck they are releasing Crimson Wing in North America. That was supposed to be the second one comng out and I still haven't seen any info about it. All I've seen was the trailer for next year's Earth day movie Oceans.

I am never able to find these coupons on my own - the only place I've been able to access them from is this forum!

Same here. I tried finding that one for Witch Mountain and couldn't find it. So if anyone knows if there is a coupon availale, let us know.

I've searched thru Disney's website and just don't know where they post those coupons.

Planet Earth was my first Blu-Ray.

And my new wife and I had already purchased an HDTV. We have a "big screen" event every single night. We just watched Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates and it was glorious.

All I'm saying, all I have been trying to say in this entire thread, is that the Disney name has to stand for something, and the Disney company has such a profound heritage when it comes to nature films, that it is disappointing to see Disney release a 90 minute clip reel of a famous BBC series that airs pretty much every 6-8 weeks on cable. Disney should be leading this field, not slapping their name onto someone else's work. It seems deeply and almost disturbingly cynical to me.

Here's looking forward to Disney actually producing nature documentaries on their own again.

I only recently learned this, but the coupons are located on the Disney Movie Rewards website. Scroll through the options at the top, and I think find and click on "Special Offers". I'm not sure if the Earth coupon would be there yet, though, since the movie still has a couple weeks (?) before it's out.

Coupons are on the DMR page? I've never seen any there. The Witch Mountain coupon was on the regular Disney home entertainment BluRay/DVD page. I tried searching for it myself but couldn't find it. If it wasn't for one of the members posting a direct link to it, I wouldn't have had a coupon.
