"Gargoyles" is very different from any of the other Disney Afternoon shows-- in fact, it's very different from anything in the Disney canon. It's a mashup of police drama, science fiction, action, and fantasy genres into one show. It's not particularly comedic. That said, I would recommend it to anyone, it's an incredible show. I think it's something you can enjoy as an adult without nostalgia. It's highly mature and very literate, more so than any modern action blockbuster. But it's very different from "TailSpin," "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers," "Duck Tales," etc.

I would recommend watching at least an episode of the shoJw on Disney's official YouTube channel (username: disneyshows) where they have all the episodes of "Gargoyles." I say start at the beginning with "Awakening, Part One," and if you like that, maybe finish out all parts of "Awakening" (there are five). If you like it then, you'll know.

And last I checked on Amazon you can buy Season 1 and Season 2, Vol. 1 for just under twenty dollars. The MSRP is only $23.99, so should you decide to make the purchase, you should be able to pick it up somewhere without breaking the bank.
Thank you very much for the advice and information. I've always thought it looked interesting and even have volume 1 of the Clan Building TPB but hadn't seen it. I also didn't know Disney had a You Tube page. I ended up ordering TaleSpin 3 and Gargoyles Season 2, Vol. 3. While I probably could have gotten them cheaper I got free shipping and the Disney guarantee if something goes wrong in shipping.
Now I need to find season 1 and Season 2.1 at decent prices.

Their is currently only one copy of Gargoyles 2.2 on the Disney Ebay page if anyone needs one. They've sold through 99 copies very quickly.
Strike that, they're now sold out on there.

I'm very glad you picked it up! You're in for a treat when you do watch the series-- but I would recommend waiting before digging into S2V2. Continuity is the show's bread and butter and I think you'll cheat yourself of that by going straight into the middle of the second season.

On a different topic, regarding the eBay site, I know they've gone out of stock on "Gargoyles S2V2" once before, but obviously they restocked it. Surely they'll do the same now.

Also does anyone know where I can buy these through an official Disney Source online when they are released. I looked at The Disney Store's website but they aren't there.

They may not be listed until they are actually on sale.

If memory serves me right, these figures have always been available on a first come, first serve basis. I don't recall hearing about pre-orders for any of the previous sets.

You will have to find someone who lives close to the parks to get them for you. The small amount that they put up online at around 3 am on release day is usually sold out in 5 minutes.

Here is the complete lineup for Series 2.

So far The DuckTales set and the Rescue Rangers set has been released.

How much are these sets usually price wise on The Disney Store Online and/or in the parks?

TaleSpin Volume 3 and Gargoyles Season 2 Volume 2 are now on The Disney Store's website. This is very significant because people outside the USA can order from www.disneystore.com

Did anyone else see on Ducktales Wikipedia page that is says Disney will release the final volume on DVD in November of 2013.

Has this been confirmed?

I don't think it's been confirmed.

Now usually I say Wiki Pedia isn't a reliable news source and should not be taken seriously whatsoever.

However given we've seen some releases already that many of us never thought would happen through The Disney Movie Club, it's possible. However I'd take it with a grain of salt at this point anyway.

Don't always go by Wikipedia. It's never 100% true.

I actually personally changed it to reflect what has been confirmed at this point (which is nothing) after I noticed that the user who listed that date also mentioned in the revision that it was speculation, which it is right now.

That said, it is still possible we could get it this year and personally, with all the talk of DuckTales online mixed with our work at Open Vault Disney, I have a hard time at this point believing it won't come soon. I'm betting in a years time, if not sooner. But again, take that for what it is, an opinion.

I'd be really, really happy if it came. Ditto with Rescue Rangers' final volume.

Any new news about the afternoon cartoon series? I'm mainly asking about Darkwing Duck volume 3, DuckTales volume 3, Chip 'n' Dale volume 3, & Gummi Bears volume 2. I hope we get some sorta news soon! I'd love to add these to my collection in 2014!

I think at this point I can say that Goof Troop, Gargoyles and TaleSpin are it for 2013. However, I'm expecting more probably during the first quarter of 2014. At this point, waiting is the best option.
