Well the good news is you don't have to watch the show anymore, right?

Sorry Prince Ali! I should have put a spoiler warning up first (or maybe there should just be one in the thread title). I had last week's results read to me before I got a chance to watch, so I can relate.

Okay, I still watch American Idol but when Sanjaya Malakar is on I'll turn it to a different channel. LOL

Horrible night.
I still can't believe that Chris and Stephanie were the bottom two. What are the voters thinking.
Sanjaya in the top 10. Amazing, and not in a good way.

Personally I do not know what those girls see in Sanjaya. I don't watch the show much, but I have heard him, and he cannot sing at all. I think that they are voting for looks.

Good news for anybody who missed the performances on Tuesday (This means you,
MICKEYMOUSE!). I have found them on Youtube! You might want to check these out soon as I'm fairly certain they will be pulled. You can purchase the performance of each song for 99 cents at the American Idol website.
Haley Scarnato: Tell Him
Blake Lewis: Time of the Season
Chris Richardson: Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying
Chris Sligh: She's Not There
Gina Clocksen: Paint It Black
Jordin Sparks: I Who Have Nothing
Lakisha Jones: Diamonds Are Forever
Melinda Doolittle: As Long As He Needs Me
Phil Stacy: Tobacco Road
Sanjaya Malakar: Butchering You Really Got Me
Stephanie Edwards: You Don't Have to Say You Love Me
Those are of course in no particular order. If I had ranked them in order of preference, you know Melinda would have been number 1. I thought the contestants overall gave great performances. It's sad to see Stephanie Edwards go so soon. She deffinatley deserves to still be there, however something wasn't clicking for me with her. I like her and I think she is a great singer, but I wouldn't buy an album from her. I think I'm just not into the Beyonce sound. So it doesn't pain me to see her leave, but she deffinatley should still be there. Also, it's kind of interesting to search Youtube for these people. You get a ton of results for Melinda. Surprisingly, that was the only copy of Phil Stacy's song available. I think that might be a good indicator of things to come for him.

What's funny is that someone I know is going on a hunger strike until Sanjaya is voted off

I think she's gonna have a hard time since I'm afraid Sanjaya will be there for a while.
I don't hate Sanjaya as much as I used to. Maybe because I'm shy like he is, and only when people get to know him he comes out of his shell (kinda like me). I did hear online that when he hears the bad stuff about him (and he's quite aware of it, I'm sure), he really gets hurt by it.
But this is a singing competition. I mean Sanjaya is really sweet, but he should have been the one to go instead of Stephanie. Anyways, I voted for Melinda six times and Blake three times, so hopefully they won't be leaving any time soon

I'm kind of upset that Sanjaya got to stay because that means now that he's going to be part of the top 10 concert! Also, did anyone catch the dirty look that Chris Sligh gave to Sanjaya when Ryan told him to sit down?
Ouch!

Didn't catch that the first time, but I found it on YouTube. Kind of hard to see his facial expression, though.

sanjaya also gets most of his votes b/c howard stern is campaigning all over the radio to his viewrs to "save sanjaya", not because he likes him but b/c he hates the show and is messing with the voting by telling everyone to vote for him......BOOOOO, he even said he is the worst contestant ever, yet b/c he hates the show he tells everyone to vote for sanjaya....dont know if this could really make a difference, but he does have LOTS of viewers......

No worries, Aaron. It wasn't your fault anyway. I should have been smart enough to know that I shouldn't be looking at anything
American Idol related before the results show is about to air.
On a different note...
When will America learn? Sanjaya is a terrible singer!

I will now DVR "American Idol" and fast forward Sanjaya Malakar's performances until he is eliminated.
On a local talkshow here in Wichita, they are saying that there are enough pre-teen and 'tweens that are voting for him he could end up in the final four. I hope not!!!!
I still think that Blake is the cream of the crop of the male talent, and unless Melinda does something really dumb, she is the new "American Idol".

i am really beginning to pull for jordyn too...for 17 she is amazing with a natural talent and is very idolish......but i would prolly only buy a cd from chris r, blake or jordyn.....

I like Jordin alot, too. Her voice is incredible, reguardless of her age. I would most likely buy cd's from Melinda Doolittle (Mindy-Doo as the magazines are calling her), Gina Glocksen, Jordin Sparks, and Blake Lewis. I would possibly buy albums by Chris Richardson, Chris Sligh, and Lakesha Jones (KeKe) depending on how much I liked what I heard from them.

Every Wednesday and Thursday morning in my marketing office, we have to talk about Idol (I guess cause we work in marketing we think that we are like, on the pulse of stuff? Or it just works out well over coffee, I guess. )Anyway, I was really surprised after polling all my coworkers - not ONE of them liked Sanjaya. Out of something like fifty people. Who is voting for him? I don't understand!! I mean, usually when there's someone that everyone's all, why are they staying?! you can find people who like them. Who likes Sanjaya? Is it all young girls like the one that was crying this week? Aaah (he's so terrible!!)
Personally, I think if anyone other than Blake and Melinda are the final two, it's going to be wrong.

I think Melinda has such great talent, and Blake is already such an awesome performer (and so cute). I'd buy a CD from him today if I could!

Does everyone actually think that preteen girls alone are enough to make Sanjaya one of the most-voted-for contestants? That would be possible if they all were doing it, but I highly doubt that. They aren't one single-minded unit. I'm neither a preteen nor a girl and I have voted for Sanjaya many times each week (along with Lakisha). I actually know quite a few people who are voting for Sanjaya every week (admittedly, I know a lot of people who can't stand him too) and it has nothing to do with his looks or wanting the "worst" to win. He had a couple of weak performances that erred on the side of quiet, but he obviously has a very good voice. He's especially suited for studio recording-- just go listen to his mp3 samples on americanidol.com. He also comes off as the type of person that a lot of people would like to see go far on the show. I can understand people not liking him, but the angry reaction that people have taken on over the last two weeks is baffling. It's not as if any amazing talent has left in his place. Granted, Sabrina and Stephanie are good singers and left before their time, but it's not as if they were the best or had any chance at the finals. Had Melinda or Lakisha left before Sanjaya, then I could more easily understand outrage at such a major upset. Until then, all this media fuss and hunger strike nonsense only encourages me to send in that many more votes for Sanajaya.

Okay, I'll probably not make a lot of friends on here for saying this but - I really want Sanjaya to win. Not because he is a good singer, but because it makes the show much more entertaining when he's on. Think of past seasons of Idol when they get down to the top 5 or 6 and all of them are excellent singers. How boring is that?? Who wants to see all good singers compete with one another? That's not entertaining! Enter Sanjaya and his weekly butchering of any song he sings. It has made me interested in the show again.
Sanjaya's not going anywhere. He's got the tween vote, the gay vote, the votefortheworst.com vote, the Hawaiian vote (never underestimate the power of the fabulous Hawaiian people - once Sanjaya said that he lived there and he knew how to Hula - he's got their votes) and the Howard Stern fans vote. The guy is here to stay!

how can you like the show, which IS a SINGING competition, and want sanjaya to win??????? he cant sing better than anyone ever on the show! if you only like the show cause people are screwing it up, then you and all those other people should watch something else

I personally think it would be much more interesting to see 5 extremely talented vocalists duke it out for the title rather than 4 really talented singers and one who by no means deserves to be where he is and who will aggitate me even more. Grrrrr!
