I think The Aristocats is one of those films that people recognize but don't really buy into without the publicity. I think that a pretty silent release of this film would be dissaterous because it's not really one of those films that people think of first when they think about Disney. But with the recent attention that Marie has been getting overseas and now crossing over into the U.S. i can't see how disney could resist not re-releasing the film. I'm excited though, I really do enjoy it.
I personally am expecting that the release will actually be a singe disc, and that something like what happened to our Tarzan Special Edition will occur. I hope i'm wrong.

Wait a minute. Groovin Jazz? HEY!! I came up with that!

I suspect we'll see one on some of the mid-February releases, and likely most definitely on the Peter Pan: Platinum Edition.
danfrandes wrote: "The Aristocats: Special Edition" should've been a 1-disc edition instead of a 2-disc edition
Bah, let's throw that suggestion out the window and instead suggest that previous titles should have been 2-disc editions along with Aristocats (*cough* Dumbo, The Emperor's New Groove, Tarzan, Robin Hood, The Fox and the Hound *cough*). I may not like Aristocats as much as the previous five, but I hope this is a sign that Disney is coming to their senses and re-releasing quality two-disc affairs (after the disappointing TLM Platinum and the even more disappointing single-disc double-dips of 2006).

Whatever floats your boat, man.
danfrandes wrote:or "40th Anniversary Edition".
The 40th Anniversary won't occur until 2010.
DisneyFan05 wrote:That is strange how they don't have a review for it yet.

There's no review yet for the following reasons:
1. We just learned about this release a week or two ago.
2. It's two whole months before the title is released in stores.
3. Review Discs usually come in at most a month before the street date.
4. BVHE has been giving UD the short end of the stick for the past couple years and only having review discs out to UD reviewers a mere week or two before street date.

In Asian countries Marie is a lot more famous of a character than it is in thye U.S. I coud see a 2-discer in Asia, but not in America.

Not what I was aiming for, but okay. Sorry. Just don't like ideas getting taken. Well, at least it wasn't my videos.

I was originally going with Groovin' Jazz Edition for The Aristocats, but it keeps gtting taken by a user. So how about this: Since it won't be getting an edition title, what would YOU have named it?

Oddly my reply wasn't showing up since it was posted almost as soon as the thread was moved. Thankfully, I copied it...
The Aristocats: Undeserving-of-a-two-disc-when-Robin-Hood-should-have-gotten-one-but-I-don't-mind-it-having-a-two-disc-because-this-bodes-well-for-later-catalog-re-releases-to-possibly-be-two-disc-editions Edition - because that'd make a heckuva long inane marketing banner.
The Aristocats: Jazzy Groove Edition

- because I want to see TonyWDA's reaction
The Aristocats: Let's-Praise-Cats-After-40-Years-Of-Praising-Dogs! Edition - because when you think about it, up until this movie, the cats always got the short end of the stick.
The Aristocats: Special Edition - because inane marketing banners are unnecessary.

Whoa! You'd rather have a one-disc than a two-disc? And why,
why would you want an Amazingly Annoying Name Edition rather than just a Special Edition?
I very much disagree with you...
Perhaps
danfrandes was being sarcastic........

Yeah, I noticed alot of Marie items from the asian Disney parks on eBay. I wonder why she's popular there

I wonder if the movie is big there or something

It's a two-disc edition, so it might not even get a wierdo name...this is the first non-PE two-disc in a while. Disney also has no apparent reason to release it. Perhaps we'll see a 35th Anniversary Edition? Sure, it'll be a year or two behind, but still...
I don't honestly care what name we get. It's two discs for crying out loud!! I just want to know what the features are going to be! I wonder what music video we'll have...Disney has no other products to coincide with this release, so I'm betting they'll plaster a music video all over the Disney Channel.
On a side note: according to Wikipedia, March has been set as the release month for DisneyMania 5. The only "confirmed" tracks are, I think, Ashley's "Kiss The Girl" and a new rendition of "Reflection" by EverLife. I'm guessing we'll also see Jonas Brothers' "Poor Unfortunate Souls," "T-Squad's "Second Star To The Right," Cheetah Girls' "Route 66," perhaps Hayden Panetierre's "I Still Believe," and whatever song they shuck out for this release.
Mason_Ireton and I might just be the only UDers excited about this release, though

who in their right mind would say this should only be a 1-disc re-release!!! ARE YOU CRAZY! even if you dont like the movie we should still be glad disney is making a GOOD special edition for once. well I dont know how good it will be but it will be better than the 2006 single discers. UGH I just cant believe someone would say that.
