Have you actually SEEN this film?

(Just kidding.... I am grateful it is coming out, if only that the last few theatrical films will get a release, but it is REALLY painful to view.)

Actually, no, I haven't seen this film. However, I own almost every Disney live action and animated film to date, so I'm a bit of a completist, and to be honest, I have never seen a Disney film that I have not appreciated having the opportunity to watch and own (even though I like some more than others). It may not become my favorite, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the opportunity of being able to watch it...something I can't do currently. Now, if they would only release Amy and some of my other favorites.

Very much a lacy collar moment.

I was browsing around Disney's home entertainment site and noticed that they put something on the release schedule for October 20th. Walt Disney's 1960 adventure film Ten Who Dared will make it's DVD debut as a DMC Exclusive. The page lists it as being in fullscreen, so hopefully that is open matte.
I just got the new Feature Title package in the mail and it also has Tonka listed, as well as the Sleeping Beauty Gift Set, 101 Dalmatians 4-Movie Collection, and The Jungle Book 2-Movie Collection.

you can also add "Tonka" to the list of DMC exclusives. it's out this month along with Ten Who Dared.

That is great news in terms of Tonka! I just placed my order for it today. Hopefully they will keep releasing some of their other great older live-action titles like The Sword and the Rose, The Light in the Forest, and The Prince and the Pauper as DMC Exclusives in the coming months.

I ordered Ten Who Dared, Tonka, and the Sleeping Beauty book. My account says they have shipped, so hopefully I'll have them soon.

I've read before how people could get kicked out of the Disney Movie Club if they were caught selling Club Exclusive DVDs on eBay. If the once-DMC Exclusives are now rewards for the Disney Movie Rewards program, and you sell them on eBay, will your account not be suspended?

I'm not sure about your question, but I did find a loophole with selling DMC Exclusives on eBay. They will kick you out if you are selling them new, which would mean that you bought them with the sole purpose of selling them and making a profit. I sold my used Zorro DVDs in anticipation of the Treasures sets and have yet to have a problem. So if you sell exclusives that are "used" (meaning no longer sealed), you should be fine.

By the way, I got $100 for my used Zorro DVDs, which is more than what the Treasures will cost me.

Awesome- all of mine are used, so I'll go ahead and sell them! Thanks, Alex! :)

I got my copies of Tonka and Ten Who Dared in today, and in case anyone was wondering...they are in fact 1.33:1 ratio. I know that it was stated earlier that this was posted on the web, but I know from the past that several titles are listed as 1.33:1 when they are in fact widescreen (i.e. Big Red, The Incredible Journey, etc.).

Anyway, not only are they fullscreen (there is no way of telling if they are open matte or cropped), but they are also lacking in picture quality. Tonka even has the blue 1990s Walt Disney Pictures logo. My guess is that these were both taken from early 1990s videotape masters. It is a DVD quality film, but completely barebones and possibly no digital restoration o_0.

Scandalous John, on the other hand, is available in its Cinemascope widescreen format through the movie club at 2.35:1. ^_^`

Disney's Magical Fireplace what is this?

I've always thought fireplace DVDs were such a joke, but I'll probably get the Disney one. I know they had a fireplace bonus feature on Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical Christmas that was actually pretty cool. If it's like that, it should be neat.

They must have canceled the Treasure Planet tin. It looks like it was replaced with Chicken Little & Hercules tins.

Of course.
Why does "Treasure Planet" always have to bend over and take it from basically and DAC that feels like challenging it? I don't get it. It is made of win.

They didn't replace it with Chicken Little and Hercules. Both of those were already in the club. It's a series of movies in tins that started with Lilo & Stitch. I'm assuming the Treasure Planet tin is coming, but for some reason wasn't added on 11/3.

I am not a member of the Disney Movie Club [yet]. However, I have been reading that "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mister Toad" is part of the exclusive set or will be. Is this true? If it is I will be so glad. I love that movie.

I was very disappointed to receive the newst monthly offer and not find any new releases as club exclusives. I hope Disney plans on releasing the remaining theatrical releases on dvd and the television movies also.
