I don't hate Melody, but I don't wanna see her again. I want Ariel to be the star of the next movie.

I love the musical sequence, and I think that all that things happened before the TV series, because Ariel and Flounder are surprised for seen Sebastian singing. And they seem younger than the 1st film.

I can't wait until 2008. :( :x

I agree that Ariel did look considerably younger than she did in the The Little Mermaid. Her hair also appeared to be a bit shorter, too.

I'm a bit confused as to the whole TV series bit. I do remember watching episodes of it when I was younger, but at that time I didn't care much for continuity. Were the TV series episodes intended to be little side stories that took place before or during The Little Mermaid?

Yeah she did look a lot younger...her hair was shorter, and she had no lip stick

The TV series takes place just before the movie. But that also begs the question as to why Ariel would trust Ursula after what she did on the show?

Because she felt alone and desperate. Because she was in love and was offered a chance to make her dreams come true, even if it meant making a deal with a sea witch.

I hope that the pictures of Ariel that we have from TLM3 do not represent how she's gonna be like in the whole movie. I really like the fish, Sebastian, the colours and everything, and I really love the logo because of the 3-d sea as a background. I tried to watch the trailer but it didn't work for me. There is a picture, though, where we can see Ariel looking at the fish with Flounder-not the very first one- and she looks quite nice!

Ive never liked disney sequels, so I don't expect this one to be any different.
but I will say the teaser looked awesome. but then I saw the musical sneak peak and cringed the whole time. its weird how much different of a vibe I got from both of these. when I saw the trailer, I seriously thought it might have been a theatrical release (I thought they only used the picture rating screen for theatrical movies, not dvd releases). I guess I just missed that part at the end where they clearly state its a dvd release.

its a shame john lasseter didn't come on board earlier. he tried to have it cancelled but it was too far into production to do so.

EDIT: wait, was that all recycled animation? its been over 10 years since Ive seen the original movie, so I wouldn't recognize it if it was. either way, it was still a nice teaser.

Sequels Produced on Princess Popularity

Actually, I read that the real reason The Little Mermaid III wasn't canceled, just like Cinderella III, was because it was a princess film. The company said that the princesses were too popular, too much of a money-maker. to not make their sequels.

I hope they do a nice job with it... based on the preview however, I guess we won't see Ariel as a young girl.

Wow. This is the first I've heard about TLM3. Normally I disslike sequels but I've seen some that weren't all bad. Unfortunately, I missed TLM2 and never saw it. I've since read all about the story so I'm not completely in the dark. I can't really say whether I like or hate the idea of a third. I'll try to watch it, but only after I get around to watching the second.

Keep it that way. TLM2 was abysmal.

Disney Duster's Discovery for The Little Mermaid III

Now that I've finally watched The Little Mermaid III Sneak Peek on DVD, I can say I've noticed two things no one else has mentioned or seemed to notice.

But before I get to what those things are, I'll answer a big question: Who's locket falls from Eric's ship?

It is indeed Melody's locket, not the one Ursula wore that contained Ariel's voice.

Image Image

But now, I'll reveal what I noticed. First off, I noticed what looked like a black fog coming toward a fish in the very beginning of the sneak peek. This could be black octopus ink! Or just some evil magical force...

Image

Second, I know some people asked "Who's eyes are those?" in the sneak peek. Well, I don't know if they meant the eyes toward's the end, that fade in after the locket falls, because those are definately Ariel's, from the last part in her grotto where she sings "Part Of That World".

But what I noticed is that there is another pair of eyes, which flash quickly just when the storm hits the ship.

Image Image

I thought they might be Ursula's eyes, but they are actually the eyes of Morgana, Ursula's sister from The Little Mermaid II. If you look closely, you will see that in the shot Morgana's eyes are more slanted than Ursula's, just like the slanted eyes in the sneak peek.

From this, I predict that Ariel, Eric, and Melody will be sailing on Prince Eric's ship, and Morgana uses magic to conjure up a storm and destroy the ship. Then, the locket will fall...and Ariel will find out Sebastian sneeks off to sing at nightclubs. :P

If you need to see the pictures side by side to tell, here you go:

My daughter loved the movie and she's looking forward to the No. III. I own No. II (and Limited Ed. No. 1 and Special Ed. No.I) and I'm planning on buying the third one. This entertainment and money making taken by the hand. I love it!!!

My opinion. As far as DTV sequels go, TLM 2 was meh. Not good but not complete crap either. So until we have more on TLM3, I will reserve judgement.

When I saw the Preveiw to the movie, I laugh my ass off so hard as if Ariel met the Beetle Juice. I have to say that musical preview made me think of Ariel differently as she like as if she was high on something, and her love for Sebastain  . Since this might talk about the past, doesn't any of you think it might explain Triton's dislike for human? Maybe a Human killed Ariel's mother and that's why Triton has a strong dislike for them. I dunno.

Those were great informations Disney Duster, thanks a lot! :)
I just hope Morgana is not the 3rd movie's villainess!!! I want Ursula back!!! Or just some other villain- but not Morgana again!
