Yep! Also when good Jean talks to Wolverine, she says something along the lines of: "... before I kill someone", which implies that she didn't kill anyone.

Yes, but if we're going to nitpick...
Jean didn't kill anyone.
Phoenix did.

Ok, I saw the movie Friday right after it came out. I am a HUGE fan of the first two movies and I thought that they were superb. Since 15 minutes into the film, I could tell it was going downhill. After watching it, my first reaction was that I hated it. I didn't care for alot of the things about it. I felt that there was absolutley no reason to kill Cyclops. Even the other deaths seemed unreasonable. Since most likely this is the last film, I also didnt like the cure. Especially Rogue's aspect of it. Youd think that if your boyfriend was cheating on you you would do more than to just fix yourself. I wanted to see her put the smack down on him. Beast was awesome, I just didnt like his position in the government. It seemed too different from the first two. After the second movie showed that it was a part two of a series, the 3rd just felt out of place. Stood by its own, instead of together. But after a week's reflection and hearing other's views about how awesome it was, I need to see it again. Hopefully it will be better on it's second viewing. I just felt that with a little more effort and another 30 minutes running time, it could have been superb. And to me, it just wasn't. And it really disappoints me.

I just got back from seeing this, and I'm half and half on it. The little chess scene at the end kinda saved it for me. Can we expect.....
X-MEN: The Even More Last Stand
The whole climax with Magneeto was somewhat anti-climactic in how it was resolved so quickly. But, again, the little thing at the end made up for that. Yes, there were many unexpected (and I would agree unecessary) deaths. But it is (supposedly) the end after all.

Well, call me the last one of Earth, but I finally saw this movie. Wow! Loved it. I actually think it's the best of the three. I don't know, I just loved the whole story of the mutants trying to keep their powers.
I actually didn't think there were many deaths at all. C'mon, there were only 3, and I saw two of them coming, and the other one wasn't that important.
A lot of great characters. Storm, Wolverine and Beast are my favorites.

And the action was terrific with amazing special effects.
The only real flaw I can name is they didn't include that angel character (Warren Worthington III) more. But overall a great thrill ride.
9/10: Even better than the other two.
P.S. I stood at the end to see the "surprise", I didn't understand it. Who was in the chair?

The thread title already says it, but I'll say it again, SPOILER below:
Professor X. If you recall, toward the beginning of the movie, he was showing the tutorial video on a technology that would allow dead people to come back via their souls living on in other forms... or something like that. Anyways, the women in that video is the doctor who was with him in that surprise scene, implying that Prof. X will be back for the next movie in some shape or form.

It can be like Final Fantasy, or The Neverending Story.

Yes, but Jean wouldn't kill anyone as Jean anyway, so Jean must have been referring to killing someone as Phoenix.

I have yet to see this. I've seen the first two, but not this one. I'm not really excited about this, even though the trailer looked pretty amazing. Maybe there will be a 3-pack of all the movies, and then I'll be able to see Last Stand then, but not now. I don't have any time to see any movies.

I am reading the book right now and in the book Jean say's she killed Scott. I have a feeling though we may see Jean again. Why you may ask?. Well my guess is she is a Phoenix and a Phoenix is reborn after they die. Only a guess though

In the comic books Phoenix was a clone from Jean....but then at some point in the comics Jean did have powers like Phoenix but was able to control it....
The Phoenix clone Jean and put Jean in the bottom of the Ocean in a Cocoon and was discovered by the Avengers in the 1980's...

I watched this movie yesterday and I gotta say it was worst than how I imagine it. I thought the scene in the end was too short, the plot really didn't develope much and I wanted to see more fighting!!! But I have to admit that this movie is more dramatic than the others.
