They're worse than the slipcovers - just silly extraneous bits of paper, and yet another step to opening to the whole damn thing. I dunno about you, but I think it's enough to pry the tins open without damaging them, then digging the double amaray out and opening its two separate sections just to get the discs, without having to worry about keeping track of where you left the silly band.
You're lucky then, because many of the cases don't stay together without the band. The cases have developed twists in the metal etc, and they pop open as soon as they have some free space.
As Ciaobelli also pointed out, the bands are the spines, detailing what the dvd is so you can tell them apart.
You don't like 'em, fine, you can toss them. But don't mock those of us who think they should be there, especially for continuity.
Sucks that the back won’t be printed. Though I like tins and have tins for all of them I keep the tins in a box it’s just easier for me (and IMO it looks better).
Though this packaging change is disappointing, I suppose we should be grateful that we’re getting them 100% uncensored.
Next year there might not be treasures at all
Also, I'd say wave 1 is the least "collector" one because 3 of the 4 have censorship in some form.
Probablly by 2005, they won't even make treasure anymore think of that. Or maby by 2005, they will come in those cheep little Paper DVD Cases. Because then Disney could save even more money without having to do the cases.

Just read the MMBW2 review and the packaging details wre cringeworthy. Whats up with the back?? Its glued on paper slip
Soon these things won't even be limietd cause they are losng everything.
They'll prabably turn to slipcovers next and ditch the tins, kinda like the platinums, we all know they could.

Did I miss something? How do we know that wave four will have no blue bands?

There was a link on the front page to a write-up from Animated-News.com which discussed changes, which include the deletion of the blue bands.
