Mary Poppins...never seen it. (Recommendation thread)

Post by lolopimp »

Yepp, some of you might think I've been hidden in a cave for years but I've never seen the world wide famous Mary Poppins. I've heard of it but never seen it. I'm willing to get the DVD but before that I want some opinions on what makes this movie so great and Disney's "Crowning Achievement".

Comments and opinions...anyone?

How do you feel about dodgy English accents?

I feel that could swing you one way or the other on this issue.

Great songs, great animation, great acting, very imaginative.

Its a Wonderful movie . The settings are so pretty and the songs are extremly catchy you cant help but love them. Defintley check it out. If I were you I would go rent like the Gold collection and buy the Anniversery Edition when it comes out in December. Just so that you are extra sure. :)

I own the Gold Collection of Mary Poppins and plan on upgrading it to the 40th Anniversery Edition. So, you should get it too. It's worth the upgrade or adding it to your collection if you don't own it.

This movie, in my opinion, has the same Disney magic as some disney animated classic such as Snow White, Cinderella or 101 Dlamatians, only in a live action (well, almost) way.

I recomend it sooooooooooooooo much :)

dont wait for the DVD! go find a copy now!!! Iis walts masterpiece! im sorry your life so far has been without it! mary poppins is a 10! you may think its a little long, but try to watch the whole thing! its a very sweet movie in terms of what mary does for the banks family! she visits them for a reason. and not only was its walts masterpiece, but it was also the sherman brothers masterpiece! so in short, mary poppins is practically perfect in every way.

p.s. the accents arent at alllll annoying!
