In 1943, Warner Bros did a Fantasia spoof, A Corny Concerto, with many WB charaters acting out the musical segments (even Elmer Fudd did an impression of Deems Taylor). Then, in 1976, Italian animator Bruno Bozzetto released his own Fantasia parody called Allegro non troppo.
Interesting! I've never seen either of these, but would like to. Anyone here seen them?
Interesting you should ask, I watch a Corny Concerto last night and loved it. It is on the Golden Collection V2(good thing I started with Disk 4).
One thing I have noticed about the Warner Brothers parodies of Disney, there is a whole lot more respect than you get of say Shrek which seems to be just trying to belittle the work.
I notice the Corney Concertos background animation was way better than the normal LT standard. Probably to try and keep up with Disney.
Between the Warner Brothers Golden Collection and the Walt Disney Treasures we are cerninly living in a wonderful age. Really, both companies had people were far more interested in their craft than the $ and loved what they did.
