Rise of Resistance is fine enough. Like, I get why people like it. But if I must wait in line for an hour for a relatively new ride at the parks, I'd much rather spend it for the new Mickey Mouse ride, which I genuinely love.

My guess is they're going to try to either try to wedge COCO into Pixar Pier (which poses the question of what it's going to replace) or it'll somehow be a part of a park expansion.

I've only perused the news reports for the new park stuff, but I haven't seen anything yet about how much of this is "expansion" and how much is paving over old stuff. Ideally, they'll be pushing the boundaries of the park, but that kind of thing has been rumored for as long as I've been following Disney fandom, and I'm not totally sure if/when they'll ever follow through with that.

I don't know how I feel on the Walt AA. I'm torn. I agree that it has to be 100% on point.

I haven't been on Rise of the Resistance yet but I rode the Millennium Falcon ride. I need to get back to WDW at some point.

You must go! Rise is one of the most amazing rides that I've ever seen. I rode only one time because the second time it was broken so we left the line.
The millenium falcon in my opinion is worst. The Millenium Falcon is really great inside but the ride is not so good as Rise.

I've seen clips of the ride on YouTube but purposefully haven't seen the whole ride-through in case I get to go on it some day. When I went last, it was before Lightning Lane and all that, I don't know if it even had FastPass, so I think the wait was just too long. But I'd love to go on it!

Joanna Miller, daughter of Diane Disney Miller and granddaughter of Walt Disney, has publicly come out in opposition to the upcoming Walt Disney animatronic at Disneyland: https://wdwnt.com/2024/08/walt-disneys- ... imatronic/

Like I said before, I’m conflicted. I would not want an animatronic of a family member (or myself, after my death) in a theme park, even my own theme park. It’s sort of ghoulish to me. But on the other hand, Walt Disney made the Abraham Lincoln AA… Lincoln has living descendants to this day. Of course, you could say Lincoln is a part of American history so it’s a little different but Walt was a very famous public figure, too.

In a Facebook post in the article, Joanna shares that her mother (Diane Disney Miller) stopped the company from doing an AA of Walt sometime before her death, which is very interesting. I’d like to hear more about that— if Walt’s daughter was against an animatronic, then I really don’t think it’s appropriate at all, even after Diane’s passing.

It has to be creepy to see an animatronic of someone from your own family
