Today's drop is Lucinda's 2nd night ball gown.
She says to never wear pink to a ball after she wore pink the night before, so I thought she would change into another gown, but I wanted to keep a pink-like hue, so it is magenta.
"The Prince, of course!"

And today is Florinda's 2nd ball gown!
"Never wear mauve to a ball", she says, so I gave her purple! In this pose she is shocked the Baker is going after her with an ear of corn to compare her hair to.
"Well, we would have, if that mongrel with the cow hadn't molested us!"

Today's drop is Little Red Riding Hood Post-Wolf.
She is very heavily associated with flowers, and I wanted to keep the red theme, so, red and pink and flowers on her dress. The cape her Granny made from the skins of the Wolf float next to her, and she is bloodthirsty now with the knife to never get eaten by a Wolf again!
"Stay away from my cape, or I'll slice you into a thousand bits!"

Today's drop is my favorite costume I have designed for this project, Cinderella's 3rd Ball Gown.
The third night of the ball, the original fairy tale says she gets the most beautiful of her ballgowns. I added lots of sparkly pink jewels and pearls!
"On the steps of the palace!"

Oh wow, I thought it was pretty before but the added jewels… stunning!
This would be such a sumptuous production of Into the Woods… I hope you get to make these in physical form some day!! Especially this dress. It really is breathtaking.

Brelly, your comment gives me life. I'm serious. Your comment hit my heart, because this is the Into the Woods costume of mine (that I and Marcelo made) that I love the most. I would love if I could get some production to make these costumes, or at least work with me to make come alive very similar ones. It's a dream, haha!
I wanted to do a drop today, but unfortunately, my uploading site is down. I will drop again as soon as possible. Thank you for all your continuous comments so far, they make me so happy, they mean so much to me.

You’re welcome! Like others who have posted here have written, I have really enjoyed seeing your and Marcelo’s work here. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! I hope your dreams come true and you get to costume a real production one day.

You are so welcome, and I am so glad here, with you guys, is where I am showing my work!
Ok, next drop is: Jack's Harp!
The Giant's golden toy harp, stolen by Jack, is sculpted to resemble Marilyn Monroe! She plays herself! If this were a real production, maybe Jack could wind it up like a mechanical toy, or he puppets it, or maybe I just use batteries?
"Mother, look, the most beautiful harp!"

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
Today's drop is my second favorite costume: The Witch Beautiful.
As I said before, but probably shouldn't have so you could guess without her ugly mask on, she is based on Joan Crawford. But...she is also inspired by a Disney character. Can you guess? I made her dress 17th century, instead of 18th, because the Witch has lived for a longer time than the mortals around her. I guess I really like criss-crossing pearls, and that's why I made my second favorite costume have those, haha.
Here is the inspiration for the dress, ripped from from real 17th century history!:
"...was now restored to her former state of youth and beauty."

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
Sorry I've not been on here for a little while!!
Cinderella's Prince is definitely handsome!! I don't understand the flare at the end of the coat (I don't dislike it, I just don't understand periods of clothing!).
I love pink and purple together.
I also love pink and black together, so you're hitting these colors out of the park for me!
I like the bows on Lucinda's gown.
Florinda's dress is great (I mean in real life, not in a play, it'd be not as wise lol, but otherwise I'd wear it!).
Morbid but the wolf-skin cape looks cozy! I also love pink and red together and I like Red's dress.
I loved Cindy's other similar dress, and this one is beautiful as well!
The Harp is absolutely beautiful!!
Beautiful witch is based on Gothel?! I really like her dress!

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
It is ok, Amy. I broke my promise to post every day anyway haha. I love your comments, thank you! I am so glad you like so much. Is Disney's Tangled's Rapunzel dress one of your favorites, because it is pink and purple?
The flare of the Prince's coat is taken from these 18th century images I found:
I wanted Cinderella's Prince to be a little fancier and almost have a skirt like Cinderella, hence that flare.
Well, I have waited long enough before I reveal who the Witch beautiful is based on - Vanessa from The Little Mermaid! And Joan Crawford, as I said before.
Today's drop is the Stepmother Home
I thought the stepfamily would not wear their ball gowns at home when trying on the golden slipper, hence this outfit. I wanted her in a reddish pink and black, to signify that she, with the knife, is very evil and violent in this scene! As some of you know from the Grimm's version of Cinderella and Into the Woods, the stepmother cuts parts of her daughters' feet off to fit the slipper!
"...Cinderella's stepmother took the slipper into Florinda's room."

Today's drop is Florinda Home.
She is not wearing a ballgown, but what she would wear just hanging out in her house, while she gets her toe cut off haha. Signature purple-loving and flower-loving motifs.
"Careful, my toe!"

I meant wide!blackcauldron85 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 1:28 pm Florinda's dress is great (I mean in real life, not in a play, it'd be not as wise lol, but otherwise I'd wear it!).
I think Rapunzel's dress is cute for sure. I don't know that I've ranked the dresses.Disney Duster wrote:Is Disney's Tangled's Rapunzel dress one of your favorites, because it is pink and purple?
I actually quite like the one on the left, it's like his own party dress. The one on the right is...I don't quite understand it!Disney Duster wrote:The flare of the Prince's coat is taken from these 18th century images I found
Oh, it was Vanessa! I guessed Gothel but it makes sense!
So lime green also goes with hot pink and black so I very much approve! Did women back then really wear the wide dresses just lounging around their homes?
Florinda's dress - love the purple and her hair still!

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
Thank you for your comments, Amy! That you would wear any of these is a wonderful sentiment, and I love the 2nd ballgown Florinda gets, personally,, too. If I was in drag I may consider that one, lol. I think the 2nd pic of the guy with the huge, wide flare in the coat is a bit strange, too, but I think it's to make him look rich and powerful. Speaking of, if you were a well-to-do woman, you indeed wore wide dresses even at home! I mean, unless you were in your underwear, like I have shown earlier! Also, they did not always go quite as wide as perhaps I have made their at home dresses, but ballgowns did sometimes get very wide!
I am doing today's drop very late, it's more for tomorrow, unless you guys see it this late: Lucinda Home!
In pink and bows, as she loves, for her at home heel-cutting to fit the golden slipper!
"Why won't it fit?"

Today's drop is Cinderella's Father Home
The guy would wear a different outfit at home than his fancy one as well! I kept the purples, but they are a little grayer because he is a gray character. Also remember his saying "The closer to the family, the closer to the wine!" Haha.
"I always wanted a son."

Thank you very much, I care so much about the embroidery and give it special attention!
Today's drop is: Cinderella's Prince Wedding!
I gave him the same silhouette (other than the added crown), but added more ornate stuff and gave him white silver colors.

Haha, I believe muscley is a word! Thank you!
Today's drop is another of my favorites: Cinderella Wedding!
I used references from real historical 18th century wedding gowns, as well as The Slipper and the Rose:
Cinderella is in silvery white like her prince, and wears her crown, I guess she got coronated the same time as her wedding? Haha I don't know if that's historically accurate.
"I see your prince has found you."
