Someone did an in-depth analysis of the Variety article that I found interesting.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Absolutely.
I loved her when West Side Story was released but right now She's one of the stars from hollywood that I hate more. I don't know her obviously but She gives me these feeling of beeing a person who think that is more smart than what She actually is. Se doesn't know anything about beeing polite and someone must show her how to be quiet when nobody is asking for her opinion.
With her behaviour this movie has been transformed into a political thing.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
She just loves playing the victim and never take accountability for anything. And I don't believe for a second that people showed up to her apartment. She's just making that up. If that were the case, she would have called the police and it would have made the news. Or she would have recorded them on her phone and posted it online. She wouldn't have missed an opportunity to paint herself as the victim. And how did those alleged people even know where she lives? That information has never been leaked online. I call BS!
Source: https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainm ... view-2024/Q: What’s your favorite thing about yourself?
Rachel Zegler: Probably my ability to say no, which is newfound, and also my resilience through knowing when to hide to rebuild myself.
Q: Oh, interesting. Give us an example of the last time you hid.
Rachel Zegler: Last summer.
Q: Why?
Rachel Zegler: Because the internet was raging on about something beyond my control.
Q: You got fucking canceled?
Rachel Zegler: For being brown. For having brown skin. For playing Snow White. There was a lot of harassment from a certain group of people—they were showing up at my apartment and screaming profanities.
Q: Were you responding?
Rachel Zegler: Where I wanted to, in a way that made it seem like it was tongue in cheek. Then it got to a point where it was not funny anymore and I really hated myself for something that other people were telling me about myself. But my ability to bounce back from that and still be passionate about the work I did for that project is something that I admire about myself.

Shades of Jussie Smollett!
Not buying a word of it!
First of all, the backlash is NOT about her being “brown”. Hell, I’m Italian American and actually “browner” than she is.
The backlash is about how she disparaged and mocked the 1937 original classic and, while not her fault, all the “woke” changes made to the story and beloved character of Snow White.
I can’t wait until this disaster bombs, loses Disney millions and deservedly is relegated to the dustbin of film history.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
I don't know. Does every instance of celebrity harassment make the news? I'll admit here and now I don't necessarily have a gameplan for how I'd handle the situation if people started beating down my door and throwing profanities at me. My first instinct might just be to go hide under my blanket rather than record it for posterity.
While I think the general frustration toward Zegler encompasses a lot more than just the racebending thing, I also don't think it's necessarily untruthful to say that the reason she has been singled out was because of her skin color. She has been uniquely targeted among other celebrities who have dumped on Disney Princesses--including those who have worked for Disney.
Kiera Knightley: "I would never show my daughter Cinderella or The Little Mermaid because I don't want my kids to grow up to be fragile little China dolls." Not Canceled
Kristen Bell: "Disney Princesses teach kids that you don't need to ask for consent." Not Canceled
Emma Watson: "Belle was the first Disney Princess not to be a wuss." Not Canceled
Rachel Zegler: "Yeah, what they said." Hardcore Canceled
They got degrees of pushback, yes, but they were not raked across the coals like Zegler was. You didn't see them getting death threats--and YouTubers laughing about them getting death threats. It was only when a woman of color started echoing what other people had been chanting for years that the internet suddenly rediscovered their passion for classical Disney and felt emboldened to be just vile. I think Zegler is totally justified in airing her frustrations over that.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Zegler hasn't been canceled. If she has less films in the future, it'll be more because this and Shazam 2 bombed (I don't recall how WSS performed). She personally is not the reason this film will bomb, the decisions were made by Disney and would've been the same with a different actress, but she didn't help by fanning the flames on Twitter all the time. I do think she has an unlikable personality though unlike Watson, Bailey, Scott, Kristen Bell, or Knightley. That's the reason I wouldn't call myself a fan like with those others even though she's got a good voice.
I can believe some racist crazies might have possibly shown up at her door, which anyone would find frightening even if they didn't do anything except yell things just because you can never know what people might do.

The 2021 West Side Story was a box office bomb. With a budget of 100 million, it needed to make 300 million to break even. The film earned 76 million in theaters.
It has been critically acclaimed, however, as one of the best musical films ever made.

Oh, like Kristen has room to talk. She voiced a damn Disney Princess. Especially a princess who was all for marrying the first man she talked to.PatchofBlue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 9:29 am

A fan account claims a new trailer will be released this Friday during D23 Brazil. We'll soon find out if it's true or not. The film does have display at the expo, so it's likely we'll get at least some new info about it.

She looks better here than what she did in the trailer. The hairstyle is a mess btw.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Her proportions are completely off in that pic, her feet look gigantic, like she’s cut down at the knees and I seriously miss the red ribbon in her hair which would give structure to the hairstyle… many “choices” were made for her look, and I’m still not fully digging them…

Dreadful...
Snow White is supposedly the fairest in the land.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Description of the trailer shown at D23 Brazil:
Source: https://www.laughingplace.com/w/disney- ... ve-action/• The film features scenes of young Snow White and her father, the King, before his death.
• Gal Gadot’s costume as the Evil Queen appears to be heavily inspired by early concept art from the 1937 animated feature, with a taller crown silhouette than the one fans are used to from the first Disney Villain.
• The prince, Jonathan (Andrew Burnap), seems to be a foe of the Evil Queen before Snow White is forced to flee the castle. A clip showed the Evil Queen having him escorted to the dungeon by guards, with Snow protesting her stepmother’s decision.
• “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.” In a sequence where the Evil Queen summons her prismatic servant, it was revealed that the production design stayed very close to the theater mask face used in the animated classic.
• “Bring back her heart in this.” The Evil Queen’s keepsake box looks almost exactly like the one in the 1937 film, except this one is painted solid white, save for the heart-shaped clasp.
• Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman) have contributed new songs for the film, and the footage included snippets of one called “Waiting on a Wish.” Sung by Rachel Zigler, she appeared to be singing the song from the castle, implying that it has replaced “I’m Wishing/One Song” in the film.
• Footage of the dwarfs in the mine features them riding mine carts on a winding path that looked like a roller coaster. It felt like a nod to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction at Walt Disney World and Shanghai Disney.
• Lastly, we saw the Wicked Witch arrive at the Dwarf’s cottage. Unlike in the animated film, not even the ravishes of time could destroy Gal Gadot’s beauty as the Evil Queen.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
The dwarves look even worse when you're seeing them in multiple lighting settings. The new song seems cute, though
