Belle is the 2024 Disney Store Holiday doll
Must-have for me. Technically, last year’s Tiana was also marked for 2024 as she celebrated New Year’s Day.
One of my biggest regrets is not buying the lovely holiday Ariel doll that was released in 2020. At the time, I was only collecting dolls from the 90’s. I still remember seeing her in stock on the website and almost buying! Now, she’s 100+ on eBay.

Re: Disney Dolls
Tiana was marked as 2024 by mistake, not to celebrate new year.
This time they deceided to mantain the actual year in order to not alterate more the collection.
I don't know how they didn't realize about the huge mistake they were making with Tiana. Now the collection doesn't have a 2023 doll.
However Belle looks amazing. They are improving dolls each year. Now Ariel and Rapunzel look very basic if you compare them with Tinker, Tiana and Belle.

No, a lot of people thought it was a mistake, but it was intentional— from the doll’s product description: “ 'Tis the season for warm wishes and dreams coming true! This special edition Princess Tiana doll sparkles brightly, capturing the glow of our festive fairytale beauty. Tiana's warmth shines throughout the bayou for this magical season. Countdown to the New Year with this 2024 keepsake doll in plush fabrics and faux furs. She's sure to be a treasure for years to come.”Thumper_93 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 12:29 pm Tiana was marked as 2024 by mistake, not to celebrate new year.

Definitely annoying for completionists, to be sure.
I agree Belle is amazing! While I love Belle’s holiday gown from the Enchanted Christmas, there are already dolls of that, so I appreciate they gave us something new, based on her winter dress from the original film. Can’t wait to pick her up!Thumper_93 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 12:29 pm However Belle looks amazing. They are improving dolls each year. Re: Disney Dolls
It was a mistake and they put this description on the website because they didn't want to recognize their mistake. Nothing from this description appear in the box. There it says that it's a Holiday doll from their Disney royalty line. They have made huge mistake like this in other ocassions like in the Alice and Queen of hearts set released a few years earlier. They putted Red Queen instead of Queen of hearts and they never said anything about the mistake.
It doesn't have any sense to create a doll to celebrate new years eve, call it holiday doll mantaining the shape of the box and the presentation.
It is another holiday doll with the wrong date on the box and now thanks to this mistake we have two dolls with the 2024 date on the box. If they really wanted to create a new year's eve Tiana doll they would have included something about it on the box description and they would have called it "New years eve Tiana" instead of "Holiday Tiana".

Re: Disney Dolls
Eh, I respectfully disagree. New Orleans is a big party city, and they took that opportunity to celebrate New Year’s with Tiana. New Year’s is a part of the holiday season, a catch all term which is meant to encompass all winter holidays even if people secretly only associate it with Christmas. Plus, the designers knew 2024 was going to be a big year for Tiana with Bayou Adventure opening and TPATF’s 15th anniversary— and if there’s anything the doll team at Disney pays attention to, it’s yearly anniversaries.
Here, further confirmation from an email from Disney a guest shared in the reviews: “Thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts with us. As this year's holiday doll was created to celebrate the New Year, our designers thought it more fitting to name it the 2024 Holiday Doll. We apologize for any disappointment.”
I guess you could argue Disney was just lying to cover their tracks, but I don’t think that was the case here. I think they just wanted the Tiana doll to celebrate the New Year. Was it the smartest decision? No, because as you say it sort of interrupts the line, and upset many collectors, but the 2024 date was 100% intentional.
As a longtime DVD and Blu-ray collector, I’ve learned to never expect consistency with releases in a series so things like this rarely bother me. In fact, I rather love inconsistencies like this because they make for good stories/trivia.

Re: Disney Dolls
As I said if this was the original intention then why they didnt' added anything about it in the box? In the box it says that it's another holiday doll so no, I don't believe them. It is a cheap excuse to cover their mistake. Even in their social media they announce her as 2024 holiday doll and not as a new years eve doll.

This one is the spanish one:

In both of them they described as Holiday doll and there's no mention about New Year's eve and they even didn't answer to the people who was asking why they put this year on the box.

I think this may be a cultural thing— in the US, the holiday season includes New Year’s. It’s really not that strange to me! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christm ... day_season

I mean you’re right, New Year’s isn’t mentioned on the box. But Christmas isn’t either. Holiday is intentionally a catch all term. They probably didn’t write New Years on the box because they wanted people to buy it as a Christmas, or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa present.

Re: Disney Dolls
It is a Holiday collection and the holiday name appears in all the boxes of dolls made until today. Tiana is a doll from this series and that's all.UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 2:03 pm I mean you’re right, New Year’s isn’t mentioned on the box. But Christmas isn’t either. I understand that they wanted us to believe this but if this were true they would have added on their social media and in the box of the doll and they didn't. They included the name "Holiday" so the doll is part of this collection and the year is wrong. As I said before they made similar mistakes before and they always search excuses to justify the mistake.
At least they didn't put 2025 in Belle's box. We will never have a 2023 doll but at least they are not still making mistakes.

Re: Disney Dolls
I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree here. Disney officially confirmed in multiple avenues the doll was intended to celebrate New Year’s 2024. Being labelled a “Holiday” doll does not negate or exclude that. I get that the “2024” on the box felt like a mistake when it first came out, but I think Disney’s explanations are reasonable and more trustworthy than fan theories.

We are not going to agree hahaha. I'm still thinking that it was a mistake for the reasons that I said and because they did mistakes like this one before and they never recognized them. But it's funny to see different points of view! :3UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 2:45 pm I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree here.
