A decade ago I would have been excited to see this film, but I don't think I care about these "The villain is not actually bad, they actually have a point" narratives anymore. I still plan to watch it but I'm not as excited about it as I would have been. It's definitely not going to be better than The Wizard of Oz.

The film doesn't want to be as good as The wizard of Oz and is not fair to compare them because they don't even have the same plot.
To be honest and fair this story is much older than all the new stories of villains that are not actually villains and are good. The musical has 20 years and the novel is much older, it is from 1995.
Big part of the films that used these kind of plot is thanks to Wicked.

I agree, well said, Thumper! I am sorry you are leas excited, Farerb. I am less excited than I would have been in my late teens as well, only because I have depression, and it's two movies so they may bloat it. The same reason Thumper and Brelly were worried about the two movie thing.
