I made a character and played for a few minutes. I even had trouble walking and running lol- I'm not much of a gamer. I'm glad you are having fun with it and that the patch works! I totally agree that there should be a base level on games that can be playable no matter what.

Yeah, I just wanted to geek out a little. :P I do play some games, but they're few and far between like this--mostly just Kingdom Hearts because it's Disney-related and Final Fantasy (KH lead me to that series since some of its characters were in KH).

I'd read something the other day that they were giving the Lego Harry Potter games some kind of "update" for the PS5. I enjoyed those as mindless collector fun (and they were funny in how creative they were in telling the story without any dialogue  ), so I'm looking forward to that. The downside is they were working on some major Lego Disney game--something I'd hoped they would make for years--but cancelled it to work on the HP thing. :/ Why not make both?

This article has more info on the canceled game:

It's like when there's a cancelled film- it's amazing how much work goes into something that gets cancelled.

Yesterday night, I bought “Fall of the Eagles” on DVD from an eBay seller. It’s an old BBC miniseries about the downfall of all the great European monarchies (Russia, Germany, Austria) leading up to WWI. It’s a blind buy, but over the past year I’ve been watching all of the BBC’s 70’s Tudor series and just finished I, Claudius (previously watched it as a teenager 10 years ago and have to say I think I appreciated it much more now, despite still liking it back then). I’m so excited because “Fall of the Eagles” has episodes on the Romanovs and Sisi, two subjects which I find endlessly fascinating.

The eBay seller seems like a colorful character. Their messages are sort of odd, but enjoyable reads. They sent a message today that because my 1 DVD didn’t max out the weight limit, they stuffed the package with extra, random discs. I’m excited to see what unexpected finds are waiting for me. Had a truly horrible day at work so that was a welcome surprise. Looking forward to leaving the seller positive feedback when the package arrives.

*Hug* I'm sorry you had a tough day. Can you compare the tone of the miniseries to anything? Is it "dry," or does it have humor?

*hugs* Thank you, I hope you are doing better, too.

They are very dry, each episode is basically a mini-play. Mostly talking scenes, but it’s all high stakes drama. I feel like I, Claudius has more funny scenes than the shows about the Tudors, though. These miniseries are just really good vehicles to watch great actors act. I’m convinced that if you took a time machine back to Tudor times, Elizabeth I would be the same as Glenda Jackson in the TV show. And my god— the actors in I, Claudius are stacked— Derek Jacobi, John Hurt, Brian Blessed, Patrick Stewart, John Castle (even Magenta from Rocky Horror!) . My favorite performance though is Sian Phillips as Livia who is probably the greatest villain I’ve ever watched. And she is funny, sometimes, but always wonderfully wicked. She is responsible for the most heinous acts and yet when she’s on her deathbed, fearing she’ll go to hell, you pity her as much as her grandson in the scene. She’s every Disney villainess rolled into one— again, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a better villain in anything.

Here’s a (very darkly) comic scene where Livia, a Roman empress, gives a “pep talk” to a group of gladiators about to fight: https://youtu.be/Q-prpMKQboA?si=NoW-qLj_seQgN071 I wonder if Ted Elliott and Terry Russo didn’t have this scene in mind when they wrote Farquad’s “Some of you may die, but that’s a risk I’m willing to make” line!

I've been picking up a bunch of things I've had on my list lately since I've finally had the chance. CDs, games, and books, too, but these are the movies:

The Boy and the Heron 4K Blu-ray
Cats Don't Dance Blu-ray
The Slipper and the Rose Blu-ray
The Glass Slipper DVD
TransAmerica DVD
Unconditional Love DVD
Beauty Shop DVD
Poltergeist Blu-ray
Gone With the Wind Blu-ray
Legally Blonde 1 & 2 Blu-ray
Mrs. Doubtfire Blu-ray
Matilda Blu-ray

I want The Virgin Queen (Bette Davis), but it seems to only be available in one of these really expensive DVD sets (and probably only used...). A shame. :/ I bought a few of Kathy Griffin's and Ron White's stand-ups. They used to air Kathy Griffin's old shows on Bravo years ago, but I suppose I need to buy them if I want to re-watch them these days. I also bought the little documentary she had of everything that happened to her in the 2017 area, I've never seen it. Too bad Leslie Jordan's stand up isn't available anymore, maybe I can get a used copy somehow. I watched it once back when my family had DVD Netflix years ago and it was hilarious.

I still need to pick up a few various animated films I haven't yet (the Spider-verse sequel, a few of the Dreamworks movies like Kung Fu Panda / Megamind, misc. Disney stuff I haven't got yet like The Tigger Movie, etc.). Unfortunately, I must've waited too long to get that set that included The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea because it's unavailable now. :( Hopefully it'll come back into stock at some point. I'll probably move on to picking up more anime stuff soon (Bleach, One Piece, Naruto: Shippuden, etc.) that I haven't seen in full yet. Those were things I always put on the backburner, whereas I would always buy Sailor Moon, My Hero Academia, and Demon Slayer.
