Re: Disneyland Resort Paris updates!
Announcements so far:
World of Frozen and Lion King land officially confirmed for Disney Worlds of Adventure park
UPDATE: Fans were confused during the presentation because while Josh D’amaro explicitly said that the TLK land would be based on the animated film, the concept art during the presentation showed versions of the characters from the 2019 remake.
However, the model of the land which was revealed after the presentation uses characters from the animated film: https://wdwnt.com/2024/08/pride-lands-m ... and-paris/ Based on D’amaro’s statements and this model, I’m assuming the concept art is out of date and the plan for now is to use the original 2D property.
I think this is so exciting! And I’m glad TLK is getting a ride! I’ve never understood why, with the massive success and appeal of TLK for 30 years now, TLK only got shows and never any rides. None of the hit films during Eisner’s tenure got turned into major ride attractions while he was CEO (except Roger Rabbit, I think?). But to his credit, he was still green lighting non-IP based rides which Iger has not done.
Disney should absolutely develop a TLK ride for DAK (although, not a log flume please! We already have one at MK). Wouldn’t a race through the elephant graveyard be fun?

Yeah, I noticed the 2019 TLK in the concept art and was disappointed. Very weird.
I agree that it's strange that TLK never got a ride, but I've always loved the show at AK.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris updates!
Having a TLK ride is great but honestly, are they going to build a whole land with only one ride? This ride is going to be on refubrishment and when this happen what are people supossed to do in this land? Going to one restaurant and to the shop? Another disturbing thing is that they are building a water ride in a country where 111 days of the year rain. Paris is a very cold place and only has 2 months of heat so I don't think that this is a smart decision. The ride is going to be great in these 2 months but the rest of the year is going to be hard to ride.
Another thing that I'm not happy about is the openning date for Arendelle. They have beeing with this project since 2018. In other parks they have beeen more fast building lands and this is taking forever. It was supossed to be openned for the olympic games and look how much time they have delayed it....
About the main park we expected nothing. They don't take care of it. It needs a new land or at least a new ride because this park looks really old and small right now. It's my favourite Disney parks because it was made with great taste and it's beautiful but it needs new things to be added. It's absurd that the park doesn't have a BATB ride when it's located in France and this is one of the most popular Disney's movies.
Let's see how much time is going to take them to make TLK land and how it looks.

Yeah, I noticed that too, about only one ride announcement for TLK. I don’t think they’ll build another E ticket there, but maybe they’ll add a flattop ride like Dumbo. Isn’t there a very popular TLK show in one of the French parks? Perhaps they will move that to TLK land?
I saw someone say Disneyland Paris hasn’t had a new ride in 30 years, but that sounds absurd. Is that true?

If I don’t remember well it's true that the main park didn't have a new ride in 30 years. They made some refubrishments but nothing new at all. Right now they are making a refubrishment in “Le pays de les contes de fees” adding new scenes from Frozen, Winnie and Up. I don't know Why they decided to include Up on a ride that is about fairy tales…UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:56 am Yeah, I noticed that too, about only one ride announcement for TLK. About TLK show yes, it's very popular but in my opinion the one in AK is better. They should move it to the new land to have all TLK stuff together and make another show in Frontierlane Theater. A few years ago there was a show with Pocahontas, Tarzan and Brave and it was amazing because they are not common characters in Paris. I saw jane once but she doesn't appear much. Even Esmeralda beeing a french character is uncommon Paris.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris updates!
That’s crazy!! I know Disneyland Paris has had major financial struggles, but maybe part of that is not giving guests a new attraction to return for. I hope the original park gets some TLC soon.Thumper_93 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 2:41 am If I don’t remember well it's true that the main park didn't have a new ride in 30 years. It's one of the most visited places in Europe and there's always people spending money there but it needs new things to attract more public. The Asterix park is near and they are always making new things.UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 2:53 amThat’s crazy!! Re: Disneyland Resort Paris updates!
They frequently update their existing attractions (like updating Pirates, turning Space Mountain into Hyperspace Mountain and adding scenes to Le Pays de Contes de Fées) but it's been ages since we've had a new attraction. It hasn't been 30 years though, I remember when Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast was new. I just looked it up and that was way back in 2006 so that means we haven't had a completely new attraction in... 18 years.UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:56 am I saw someone say Disneyland Paris hasn’t had a new ride in 30 years, but that sounds absurd. I get that most of the attention now is on the Disney Studios park, but I do hope they eventually decide to expand or add something new to the original Disneyland Paris park, cause it desperately needs it!

and some of the rides had a refubrishment because they were built with asbestos and it was really dangerous. I'm sure that they wouldn't have done anything to these rides if they weren't buid with this material.supertalies wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 1:51 amThey frequently update their existing attractions (like updating Pirates, turning Space Mountain into Hyperspace Mountain and adding scenes to Le Pays de Contes de Fées) but it's been ages since we've had a new attraction. Re: Disneyland Resort Paris updates!
Coperni is going to celebrate their new fashion show in Disneyland Paris next October 1st. The park is going to close early this day, at 20:00PM so this day the night show is not going to be celebrated. I hope that at least they compensate people with tickets for this day. I understand that they want to make things in the park but Guests are more important. Also the Studios park use to close early and Disney Village is in refubrishment so I hope that at least WDS close later this day because guests doesn't have anything to do if both parks are closed.
