I love seeing Tiana with her hair loose! I hope we see more of this look in the upcoming series.

As for the commercial, the little girl says "Mum, you know Tiana? The Disney princess? She's wearing her hair loose. Just like mine!" and the text says "Girls, in today's class we will wear our hair loose"

D23 Down in New Orleans- Celebrating 15 Years of The Princess and the Frog event

This sounds amazing, but I just cannot afford both this AND to go to the D23 Expo this year. If anyone here lives close to NOLA, though, I hope they get the chance to experience this.

I liked the pictures of the bus wrap at Disney World, though :) Nice art :)

If Disney still did direct-to-video sequels to this day, imagine if we were to get this?

They have now indeed hired an official show runner and directors for the Harry Potter TV show (man that’s so painful to even say and think about!

It’s also Unfortunately interesting, because you may have heard Eddie Murphy reconfirm that they are indeed Doing a fifth Shrek, And a donkey spin off that’s gonna come out afterwards, that could very well be released in 2026, which I realize my friends is going to be one of the biggest movie years ever that’s unfortunately ruined by the plan release date of this planned series, And what’s “interesting” about this is that you may remember over a year ago that literally the same day that Eddie Murphy first talked about the donkey spinoff is also when they more officially confirmed moving forward with this, so they are intertwined in someway, being an opposite ends of the spectrum of continuing a franchise one with the original actors/Continuity and one without!Another thing with this that I literally just realized is, and I apologize if this is hard to follow, but with the second Moana coming out, being reworked from what was originally a series, you may have possibly heard that many Disney fans are wondering if the Tianna Disney+ series is gonna be reworked into the second Princess and the frog movie once the second Moana does so well, also especially when you consider of course Tianas bayou adventure and everything else it’s coming out with that. Well, do you think that if the lunatics at WB see this go so well, will they try to possibly rework this show into a new theatrical movie for Harry Potter, which will also help them completely eradicate the original series which will also maybe even help them with the whole issues that the theme parks are going to run into with the original continuity/version?

There is a glimmer of hope that Might reverse this as you may have also heard that the second freaky Friday is indeed going to be theatrically released and coming out next year, so like I sang about last year, Maybe if it does well it might also help them reconsider that? Either way, we must make sure that the second freaky Friday does really well and again do whatever we can to try to stop this show (yes it’s so painful for me to literally acknowledge this!!!!) From happening

Currently watching the special presentation of The Princess and the Frog on ABC as part of The Wonderful World of Disney, with the special look of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World with the cast of ABC’s Greg’s Anatomy.

So far the hand-drawn animation still holds up.

Ron Clements wrote: We also pitched that we thought Randy Newman would be a really good idea to to do the music.

A lot of people think that probably came from John, but it didn't. It came from us, although I think John liked the idea, but that came from us because we knew Randy Newman, that he grew up in New Orleans and we knew music was a part of his soul.

So, so we really felt that that he would be great at that and we approached Randy even before our trip to come on and do the music.

And he was very interested. So all that was said even before we went to New Orleans.

I remember Ron and John have said this before. Maybe he's telling the truth. I wish Alan Menken had been the composer, but though I don't like Randy Newman nearly as much as Menken, I do like him too and it was interesting to see his take on a Disney musical. In my opinion, he did a decent job.

Yes, they've said that before. However, I'm not sure I believe them. How else could you explain a literal press release directly from Disney in early 2006 saying Menken was going to work on the film? Something doesn't add up.
Menken is also developing a new animated musical, "The Frog Princess" for Walt Disney Feature Animation.

The trades had reported on it too multiple times.
Menken is also developing “The Frog Princess” for Disney Animation.

Mouse House previously confirmed its longtime composer Alan Menken, who signed a multipicture deal in February, is working on music for “The Frog Princess.”

Alan Menken, who wrote the music for many of Disney’s ’90s toon musicals, had previously been attached to write the songs when he re-joined the Mouse last year.

Furthermore, a reliable insider back in the day, Jim Hill, said it was Lasseter who wanted Newman. He was the one who broke the news about the songwriter change on the film.
Late last week, rumors began flying around the animation community that WDFA staffers were allegedly upset with John Lasseter. Supposedly because the chief creative officer of Disney Feature Animation & Pixar Animation Studios had over-ridden Ron Clements & John Musker's decision about who the studio should hire to write the songs for their next film. As the story goes, Ron ‘n’ John reportedly wanted Disney favorite Alan Menken & his new lyricist, Glenn Slater to handle the “Frog Princess” score. Whereas John wanted this plum assignment to go to Pixar’s house composer, Randy Newman. And since Lasseter is the ubermeister of both WDFA & Pixar, what he says goes. Which is why Randy is now writing the songs for “TFP.”

As you might expect, as news of this decision began to spread, the angry e-mails began to fly. According to messages that have been forwarded to me, there are animation professionals out there who accuse Lasseter of having little respect for Musker & Clements, given that he just forced Newman on this acclaimed film-making team. There are even those who are suggesting that — by making Randy the “Frog Princess” composer — that this is the first real sign that John plans on turning WDFA into Pixar II.

Yeah, it's true that Ron's words that they pitched Randy Newman as the composer from the beginning contradict those reports. Do we know if Menken actually got to work on the film or had he simply been announced as the composer and was replaced before the music process began?

Jim Cummings revealed in a new interview that his character Ray was initially not going to have a song and Randy Newman decided to write one for him when he found out that the actor voicing him could sing too.

Well, it was an inspired choice. I liked Gonna Take You There and thought it was a very catchy and fun song.

Oh 1 more thing before I go 2 bed. As part of my plans to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic masterpiece The Princess And The Frog and my continued push to have #Tiana’s Disney+ series be turned into a theatrical, fully hand-drawn animated film sequel for a Thanksgiving 2029 release, I pre-ordered the last copy in stock on Amazon of the 3-disc Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack of the OG movie, as an encouragement for all of you to honor and highlight the legacy and urgent importance of this film and the urgent, important task to ensure that #PhysicalMediaMatters in today’s world, still.
