Or Thursday, since the first Wish trailer dropped on a Thursday.Pokenonbinary wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:08 amMost trailers don't do this, they simply get releasedD23ExpoVisitor25 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 6:50 am
I’ll believe it when Disney puts out a tweet with the new poster saying “trailer tomorrow.”

Re: Wish
New activity books covers and back covers.
Not fond of the characters illustrations : they look drawn weirdly.

Re: Wish
Asha mom design is very romani inspired, maybe she's part romani and Asha is basically a mix of many races-ethnicities of the actual Iberian Peninsula (her grandfather has a Jewish sephardic sounding name)
Re: Wish
I know, but that article didn't look too professional, I should've known it was probably wrong. Anyway, at least they cast someone with some Spanish heritage, like you said.MoonMarc21 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:49 pm It's alright D82, I already know that it was just a rumor. I was voicing out on how I'd feel if it did happen.
According to Wikipedia, Angelique Cabral's father has Mexican and Native American ancestry and her mother has English and French ancestry. I don't think I've seen this actress in anything. Yeah, a famous Spanish actress would've been cool, but perhaps this one will do a good job.Pokenonbinary wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 3:27 am I'm sad they didn't had an iconic actress like Penelope Cruz, Paz Vega or even people like Salma Hayek (who has direct spanish ancestry, I mean like all people in LatAm but I think her grandparents are directly spaniards)
But at least assuming by her last name she's hispanic, not like Chris Pine (a very random choice, Magnifico is very clearly brown skinned, in all the pictures we've seen of him)
I agree, especially the ones on the back covers. Thankfully, the characters look better in the film. Dahlia is also shown baking here and Sabino playing the lute, like in the Lego sets. Plus, Asha is writing or drawing in her notebook. I wonder if she'll be a bit of an artist like Rapunzel. I mean, we already know she likes to do little animations, but I wonder if it'll be an important part of her character or if it won't be explored much. And does the Sneezy-inspired Teen have a crush on the Bashful-inspired one? The last image seems to suggest so.Prince Kido wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:24 am New activity books covers and back covers.

Now that you mention it, it's true she looks a bit Romani in those illustrations. Who knows, perhaps you're right about that. I'm curious who they've cast in the role. That might give us some indication about what ethnicity she's supposed to be.Pokenonbinary wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:39 am Asha mom design is very romani inspired, maybe she's part romani and Asha is basically a mix of many races-ethnicities of the actual Iberian Peninsula (her grandfather has a Jewish sephardic sounding name)

Re: Wish
Asha is looking good as always in those book illustrations, Dahlia looks good as well. The others look so off-model, especially Asha's mother in that one photo, she looks like a muppet
I dunno, I think it's the opposite with the Bashful-inspired teen having a crush on someone but it's the Happy one instead of the Sneezy one because I get the vibes that they secretly like each other since the Happy teen is the confident one and the Bashful teen is the shy one.

The dolls are starting to appear in stores. The basic one looks really cute and the dress has the sparkles that can be seen in one of the artworks posted a few days ago

Re: Wish
Well, I thought early on there was some talk that she traveled through various Disney film-inspired worlds at one point and was pursued by a great darkness or something. At least, I wouldn't have expected her to spend much time in the "world" of other films, mostly a quick detour through maybe a design from another film or bumping into a character or something. Think the level of, say, Sebastian and Pinocchio appearing briefly in Aladdin via Genie's magic, for example.D82 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 8:00 pmOh, that hadn't occurred to me. Who knows, perhaps that's what she does. I wonder what those worlds would look like. She could also travel thanks to Magnifico's magic book. When the Teens break into Magnifico's castle, perhaps that's what they're after. Although, maybe the latter would be too similar to the book in the Beauty and the Beast remake.Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 7:59 pm I wonder if perhaps, if she travels anywhere, it's through various wish orbs (perhaps she goes inside them and they are their own imagined "world" in a way).

Re: Wish
I'll believe it when I see the heads up from Disney on social media.
If I don't see confirmation by tonight at 10-11, that means it's coming during the last week of September, kind of like how Disney rolled out the marketing for Frozen 1 at the end of September back 10 years ago in 2013.

Re: Wish
It's pretty obvious that Dahlia works at the Royal kitchen and the teens will make a plan to infiltrate the castle in the third act to steal all wishes from Rosas
Maybe Dahlia is an adult (not by much but like 19 since Asha is 17) and that makes Dahlia the mother of the team

Re: Wish
The Bashful-inspired Teen looks kind of creepy in the illustration on the back cover of one of the books because her eyes are too big for her face. Also, she’s really thin, almost too thin.

Re: Wish
That’s kind of like the scene in The Lego Movie where Emmet and the MasterBuilders sneak into Lord Business’s tower to put the Piece Of Resistance on the Kragle.Pokenonbinary wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 12:37 pm It's pretty obvious that Dahlia works at the Royal kitchen and the teens will make a plan to infiltrate the castle in the third act to steal all wishes from Rosas

An Asha Adventure Dress and a Petite Set with Asha and Queen Amaya are also listed , but don't have images yet. And here are a Cosplay Sweater Dress and a Birthday Pop-Up Card, the latter from Amazon.
The expression of the Sneezy-inspired teen is what made me suspect so, but maybe I'm mistaken and it's another character who has a crush on someone, like the ones you mentioned.MoonMarc21 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:26 pm I dunno, I think it's the opposite with the Bashful-inspired teen having a crush on someone but it's the Happy one instead of the Sneezy one because I get the vibes that they secretly like each other since the Happy teen is the confident one and the Bashful teen is the shy one.
Oh, I see. Yes, there was a synopsis featured on a couple of sites after the D23 Expo that mentioned Asha visits several worlds in the movie:Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 12:01 pm Well, I thought early on there was some talk that she traveled through various Disney film-inspired worlds at one point and was pursued by a great darkness or something. We weren't sure where that synopsis came from and didn't know if it was legit or not, especially since it said Asha was a princess, but now that we know there'll be some kind of journey in the film, it looks like it could be accurate after all.Wish follows Princess Asha and her goat Valentino from the Kingdom of Rosas as she meets a literal star and goes through an epic adventure among the stars through the various worlds to help save her people.
I think you're right. That kitchen looks too big to be a normal one; it has to be the one from the castle. Besides, the "King Magnifico's Castle" Lego set already featured the castle's kitchen and Dahlia was included baking a pie; I don't know why I didn't make the connection back when that set was revealed.Pokenonbinary wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 12:37 pm It's pretty obvious that Dahlia works at the Royal kitchen and the teens will make a plan to infiltrate the castle in the third act to steal all wishes from Rosas
Yes, she looks much better in the film itself.ElMaximo13 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 12:54 pm The Bashful-inspired Teen looks kind of creepy in the illustration on the back cover of one of the books because her eyes are too big for her face. Also, she’s really thin, almost too thin.
Re: Wish
I'm still amazed how the biggest next Disney movie is set in Europe, using culture, clothes etc and all that white people invented, with all main characters being non white, erasing them while using their own country and culture, and the only prominent white character being the evil guy - the first Disney had in a while.
Mind blowing. I can't imagine them making a movie set in Asia or Africa with all good main characters being white, so why do they think this is fine and everyone acts the same as well, when people would be screaming genocide if Disney had a white character in a setting where white people were a minority?
And if the goal was to have non white characters, what' the reason for even going out of their way to intentionally use a european setting and not set it in fictional China, Morocco or Kenya with the same diverse cast, especially since they could use the same flawed logic that these place were historically diverse at some point in the past and it would actually align with their agenda in putting non whites in front and the main characters would make more sense?
