Not sure if there is a more relevant thread, but we have our first image of the underwater motion capture from the set of the Avatar sequel: https://twitter.com/officialavatar/stat ... 54592?s=21

Don’t know what I’m seeing exactly but looks pretty kewl. I’d watch this in theatres, y’know if those still exist next year.

I assumed it'd be a fully-rendered frame when I clicked on it, so I'm disappointed. At least it's photographic evidence that they're actually making the film!

Same, I thought we would get our first movie still for this film. But I like blackcauldron85's positivity, because at least this means the film is being worked on!

I was actually quite looking forward to an Avatar sequel even though the first one isn't exactly a favorite film of mine. I wanted to see what Cameron would come up with next. It feels like the only news about this film is always that it's getting delayed over and over although at least it has a legitimate excuse this time.

What does that mean? Is there an Avatar-related series planned for Disney+ or something?
James Cameron wrote:The entire company is 110% behind not just the sequels, but also the rest of the franchise content we already have in the works.

Yay! I can't wait to see it. I'm not an Avatar superfan or anything, I was just casually interested in what they might do with the story going forward--particularly the mother tree and Sigourney Weaver's character. I'm happy it's finally finished.

Avatar producer Jon Landau has announced the identity of the composer who will take over scoring duties for the Avatar sequels from the late James Horner. The following was posted on all Avatar-related social media channels.
Wanted to officially announce that Simon Franglen will be composing the score for the Avatar Sequels. Our relationship with Simon started when he was a critical part of James Horner’s team on the scores for both Titanic and Avatar. Our personal collaboration was cemented when Simon composed the music for Pandora —The World of Avatar as well as the Na'vi music that will be heard in the upcoming films. Excited that Simon will continue to be a part of our #AvatarFamily.

My husband said, "They made the same movie, just underwater?!". And he's a fan of the first one. He'll still watch this. I think it looks excellent; I can't wait.
