Alan Ladd, Jr. (1937-2022)

Post by NeoSuperBlissey »

Alan Ladd, Jr., the former head of creative affairs at 20th Century Fox who convinced the studio to take a chance on a little film titled "Star Wars," has passed away at the age of 84. No cause is known as of posting time.

Other noted films Ladd supervised during his tenure at Fox include "Alien," "The Omen," "Young Frankenstein" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Later, as a producer with his own company (The Ladd Company), he won an Academy Award with Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey on the 1995 Best Picture winner "Braveheart," which was released by 20th Century Fox outside of North America (the film was released by Paramount Pictures in North America).
