Books on the making of “Oliver & Company”, “Little Mermaid"?

As the titles of this post says, I’m wondering if there are any books (either vintage or modern) that cover the making of “Oliver & Company” or “The Little Mermaid”. I’ve checked both ebay and Amazon and haven’t found any. If there weren’t any vintage books about the making of either film I wouldn’t be surprised since nobody could have known what kind of impact “The Little Mermaid” was going to have, and even today, “Oliver & Company” is still considered one of the Bronze Age/Dark Age films. Still, I’d think that “Little Mermaid” would have warranted a making-of book by now, but I haven’t found any. So, does anybody know if there are any making-of books for those two movies?

I know there were books made back then but they are oop and pretty much hard to find or expensive. I wish Disney had done something like they did with Beauty and the Beast or even something like the art books they make for new releases.

Besides the art book that DisneyFan09 posted, I can only think of books that mention both movies in addition to others, such as "Mouse in Transition" by Steve Hulett, "The Art of Animation" by Bob Thomas, "The Disney Films" by Leonard Maltin, "The Disney Book" (DK), "The Art of Walt Disney" by Christopher FInch, & "They Drew As They Pleased" by Didier Ghez (Vol. 5 I believe is that era); & books about the Eisner years, such as "DisneyWar" by James Stewart, "Work in Progress" by Michael Eisner, "Prince of the Magic Kingdom" by Joe Flower, "The Keys to the Kingdom" by Kim Masters.

First. a word of caution: The Art of TLM Miniature book is not very good, IMO. i have this book, and the first 90% if just a retelling of the movie, with mostly movie stills and SOME concept art here and there. A lot of it is very old Kay Nielsen concept art, so it doesn't link much to the eventual film.
The last 10% of the book IS about the making, but doesn't go in depth a lot. And the book is small, so you can't see the artwork that well. If you can find it cheap, go for it!

Hey... BlackCauldron... you mentioned The Art of Animation by Bob Thomas. I know the original version is from 1958. I have the 1991 and 1997 versions, where the second half is about the making of BATB and Hercules respectively.

Is the 1958 a totally different book? I really have never seen it in person. I know it is a collectible, and super expensive...

I will say, on first look, it looks like a totally different book than the ones he wrote later on. Good thing I can read/speak Spanish!

You're welcome! I'm jealous- I had Spanish for 6 years in school, not 6 years in a row, though, and I don't know as much as I wish I did.
