While I enjoy all these characters, I chose Pluto, Goofy, + Daisy.

Pluto's a dog with a lot of personality, and he feels all the emotions. From an animation standpoint, they did a remarkable job with conveying how he feels. He also has some really funny moments. And I love dogs.

Goofy is very versatile, from the How-Tos, to George Geef and Goof Troop, to being part of the gang, to holding his own in other Goofy shorts. He's always enjoyable, and like Pluto, has really funny moments, but also has heart.

Daisy is very underepresented. I always get excited to see her, from Donald shorts to House of Mouse or even Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She has to put up with Donald's shenanigans- give this duck some credit!! Where Minnie has her trials with Mickey, for the most part he's an easy boyfriend to have, but where would Donald be without Daisy?!

1. Figaro ~ I always thought it was a bit odd they just re-used Figaro for the shorts, but I love Figaro, so I'm happy about that. :D
2. Scrooge McDuck
3. Donald Duck
4. Max Goof
5. Clara Cluck ~ This character always made me laugh growing up.
6. Pluto
7. Goofy ~ I like him better in A Goofy Movie and Kingdom Hearts than the old shorts.
8. Chip n Dale ~ I liked them in the shorts and in Rescue Rangers. Their shorts were always hilarious, just for driving Pluto or Donald berserk.
9. Mickey Mouse ~ KH is the only time I ever really liked Mickey, tbh...
10. Ludwig von Drake

Looking on Wikipedia, I suppose the DuckTales characters count as core characters, too, just like Max. But it still feels weird to include them aside from Scrooge and the nephews, who are featured in other things besides DuckTales... Magice de Spell would definitely be my #1 if we were to include them.

^ I've always wondered but never looked up why Figaro was in so much besides Pinocchio; The Disney Wiki says: "Like so many characters from that film, Figaro became a popular character with audiences. In fact, Figaro was Walt Disney's favorite character in Pinocchio, he loved the kitten so much, he wanted him to appear as much as possible."

Good to know Disney loved Figaro, too! I still think he's one of the most adorable "sidekicks" in Disney's history. He just makes me laugh so much.
