I might go check it out tomorrow.

My Sister and nephew whet to go see it the other day and really liked it. My sister says that he wants to go see it again actually, and he's not the type of kid who necessarily likes to go see a movie twice in a row. So I take it that the film is pretty good! lol

I'm glad you liked it, and I'm looking forward to seeing it myself. It's probably pointless to ask, but was there a preview or any mention of the DisneyNature series continuing?

Hey guys....Chimpanzee had the biggest opening ever for a Disneynature film...over 10 million... So I hope they havnt pulled the series cause clearly there is still a market for nature docs!

No. The previews I saw were for films like "Brave" and the third "Wimpy Kid" movie. I was going in hoping there might be something, but nothing.

Take a look at this article on the film:

I hope not, but my worry is this series may end up a victim of the Rich Ross fall out. It is very chaotic at Disney right now, and who knows what will be when all is said a done. Crossing my fingers we see more of these films that said.

Thank you for linking to that article, Milojthatch. It doesn't exactly say that there will be more movies, but the tone of the moviemakers gives the impression that they have an ongoing relationship with Disney. That's a hopeful sign.

Ya, there just does not seem to be any news on any new DisneyNature films. However, "Chimpanzee" does seem to have strong reviews and as had been mentioned, it now has the best opening for one of these films. So hopefully, that will end up meaning something.

I think we may have to just wait to hear what (if anything) is next.

I finally got to see "Chimpanzee" and enjoyed it. This was the first Disneynature film that I saw in theaters.

Tim Allen had an interesting way of narrating this film, and I did spot the Home Improvement reference. I'll leave it at that, for those who have not seen it yet.

And I also did not see any trailer for a 2013 Disneynature film, instead showing Brave, Finding Nemo 3-D, Madagascar 3, and Lorax.

Here's hoping they are just needing more time to make more, with the next one for 2014.

Chimpanzee did end the downward trend at the Box Office. It's doing well.

Maybe it'll convince Disney to continue making new films for DisneyNature. Might take a few years though.

Disneynature's Chimpanzee - on Blu-Ray August

Post by Barbossa »

Add another Disney Blu-Ray to the list in August. Disneynature's Chimpanzee is coming out the same month.

I just hope this isn't the last Disneynature flick we see. And I still hope Pollen gets some release in North America, even if it is straight to Blu like Crimson Wing.
