What's up with Ranger Smith's face? It looks as CGI as Yogi and Boo Boo do!

If anything, at least Timberlake can do a decent Boo Boo. And at least there wasn't any poop or fart jokes in this trailer.

Personaly I think Steve Carell should've been casted as Ranger Smith, he would've been completly perfect for the role.

Just recently watched The Yogi Bear Show and found it quite interesting and funny, SnagglePuss's segements were kinda dry in humor and he came off annoying, not to metion seemed like a rip of Bert Lahr's Cowardly Lion.

Yogi's segments were fantasic and refreshing to see the chemistry between Yogi and Ranger Smith, Ranger Smith seems harsh with Yogi but you can tell in his emotions that he truely cares bout Yogi.

Okay back on topic....This movie doesn't seem too bad...not 100 percent sure if 3D is even needed. I'll save my 3D movie fund for Tangled and Harry Potter and Tron

Oh great, my childhood has been raped by Warner Bros. with the trailer. I will admit, even though I don't like Justin Timmberlake, he does a good job doing the voice of Boo-boo. Either way, the movie's gonna suck!

This looks ridiculous. (Not to mention that they used green-screen technology for the rangers in one scene, which is highly unneccesary.)

They target it mostly towards kids, yet Yogi Bear hasn't been on television with anything new since the early '90s, and only old repeats on Boomerang, which doesn't attract many young viewers. It looks too awkward and filled with obnoxious jokes to get adults to go see it, the kids won't care either way since it doesn't involve squeeky chipmunks who can sing showtunes, and the nostalgic folks who are curious will not make Warner their budget back, let alone make them a profit. On top of that, it's going head to head with Tron: Legacy. It'll probably have the same fate as Cats & Dogs 2 (why they waited 9 years to make a sequel is beyond me).

I'll withold my final judgement until I've actually seen it, but something tells me this is going to be trainwreck in every sense of the word, except for the voice-work which seems okay.

Funny you should mention that DisneyBoy, *presents Yogi's new trailer* Behold of the 2nd trailer, so far no sign of Cindy Bear (which I'm lookin forward to seeing) there's some new scenes.

I still can't pinpoint if WB is using Don Messick's recordings (for Boo Boo) or if Justin Timberlake is actualy performing the voice, during the preview there's 2 lines that sounds like Justin (I think)

I met Dan Aykroyd last week. He was signing autographs as part of his Crystal Head Vodka promo tour. I should have asked him what prompted him to do this movie. I got him to sign my bottle of Crystal Head, my Ghostbusters DVD, Arrow DVD, and my SNL Twenty Years commemorative book.

Great guy!

I can see him doing a similar scene like Bill Murray did in Zombieland in a future movie. They'll ask him what he regrets and he'll say Yogi.

Honestly, there's no reason not to like this trailer unless you are just prejudice against live-action versions of cartoons or cartoons in general. It actually looks very loyal to the cartoon and surprisingly well done. I thought they might botch this too, but the trailer looks great. I hope the film is as good. Sad how people can become so jaded. Of course, if you don't like Yogi or cartoons, this isn't for you. That doesn't truly mean it sucks. And Yogi fans who already don't like it based on the trailer, seriously, why not? Yeah, it still COULD be bad, but the trailer doesn't indicate that.

Edit: Incidentally, I was talking about the other trailer (the one UD just posted on Facebook, which was the first trailer of the film I saw), which didn't have Anna Faris (obviously inserted love interest), nor the dancing scene, but honestly, those don't instantly make it a bad movie either, and Faris is just there to add some plot beyond stealing picnic baskets.

This had better have Cindy Bear in it though.

I personally have issues with the CG Yogi and Boo Boo. I tolerated it with the Scooby films and the Alvin movies because the characters weren't direct designs of the classic characters. They were re-designed so they fit better with the live action universe. Yogi and Boo Boo, however, look like one of those creepy realistic CG interpretations you see online. I admit I've gotten used to the design, but it's still jarring.

But I agree, I rather wait till I see the movie. I thought I was going to hate the first Scooby Doo movie, but I ended up loving it, jaded movie fans and cynical critics BE DAMNED.

I don't judge films from trailers (I'm surprised any Disney film still does after the Tangled trailer controversy), but the main reason I'm sceptical about this is how they can possibly stretch a cartoon that consisted mainly of Yogi trying to steal picnic baskets into a full-length feature. Not to mention, the plot of them trying to save Jellystone Park from developers sounds very generic.

Though, keep in mind, I haven't seen the Yogi Bear feature Hanna-Barbera made in the '60s.

Also keep in mind that they HAVE done it before, just not in live-action. Creating a plot for the characters shouldn't be a problem, though, yes, it might be and probably is somewhat generic. When you get down to it though, most movie plots are. It's the characters that make them worth watching.

Anyway, what's this "Tangled" trailer controversy you mentioned?

As for folks saying Yogi looks scary, I totally don't get that.

The fact that they're advertising it as your typical animated comedy with Flynn in the lead and not a fairy tale musical starring Rapunzel.

Speaking of Yogi Bear movies, I remember both "Hey It's Yogi Bear" and "Yogi vs. The Space Bears". The first movie was pretty much a road trip movie, with Yogi having to find Cindy after she is taken away. I remember liking the animation and the music the last time I saw it, and I remember liking it.

"The Space Bears" was part of the Superstars 10 series of movies and I loved it as a kid. Sure it was cheesy, campy and VERY un-Yogi. But I still enjoy it for those same reasons. Boo Boo even got a girlfriend...although briefly...and she was an alien...

Is it known for sure then that it is NOT mostly a comedy and is actually more like a standard Disney Fairytale musical? I do seem to remember that they were going to go the Shrek route with it a long time back, then it seemed they decided to stick with the traditional Disney princess thing, but now it seems they are back to wanting it to seem like a Shrek film (including by changing the name to Tangled). Frankly, I would prefer a Disney princess film, but since they didn't call it Rapunzel, I don't really expect one and expect something more like the promos have been pushing...
