You missed one of the best shows of the season, in my opinion. When Crystal and Lee did the duet from the movie "Once" - "Falling Slowly", it proved that those two are the ones to beat.
Don't really care who goes home tonight, it will be Casey or Michael.
One of the guests on the results show tonight is Chris Daughtry, that will be worth the price of admission alone.
And then there will be three..............

You couldn't pay me to see Chris Daughtry. Nickelback clone.
Anyways I watched the show on a time-shifting network last night and I want my hour back Lee and Mike both murdered their songs. Casey played to his target audience. Crystal was good. The duets were both sleep inducing. I didn't even like Kris singing Falling Slowly last year, but it was better than Lee and Crystal's imbalanced duet. Casey and Mike were no better.
Mike should go home. MJ is rolling in his grave.

Don't understand all this love for Casey James all of a sudden. It was Mike's turn to go home, and he accepted it well. I know that the judges would like to have seen Casey get the boot, but what it is is what it is.
Now the Top Three, Casey, Crystal and Lee will get to go home for their special days and get assigned a song by the judges, and then get to pick one of their own. This is usually a fun week, so I am looking forward to it.
Casey will get the boot next week, and we will have Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox in the finals for the American Idol Crown 2010.
The results show was filled with a lot of good music. Fantasia lead it off, and then Daughtry burned up the stage with his song "September". When Bon Jovi took the stage it was electric and he showed why they are so popular after all these years. All in all a great results show, even if Casey didn't get the boot. His turn is coming.

I was ecstatic that Mike left. Like he said, he deserved to go several weeks ago (curse that Judges' Save--
--I was glad they save Giraud last year even though they knew he wouldn't win, but I really wanted Mike to go). Casey's not very good either, but I still like him more than Mike. I'm especially glad I don't have to hear two songs from Mike next week.
You know, I never would've pegged Lee as top two...but the whole season seemed to be scrambling to see who could possibly fill that slot (since Crystal was the only worthy contestant this year). I was worried it would be Siobhan--since I hated her (singing)--and actually hoped it would be Aaron, but Lee's okay though a bit bland. This show just hasn't been that good since season 7, when there were like 7 Crystal's. That's also the season where the judges got spoiled and started expecting everyone to sing different/create different arrangements of popular songs, instead of just sounding good.

For the past few weeks, David Letterman has been having the recently voted off contestants on his Monday night show, and last night was a real good one.
Anyone catch Michael Lynche last night on David Letterman? He sang "Woman's Work", and rocked the theater with his performance. He looked really good and sounded even better. Can't wait to see the "Idol" tour this summer. Should be a really good show.
Tonight's the night, the Top Three got to go home this week, and also received their 'mailgram' from the judges picking one song for them to sing, and then they get to choose their second performance from one that they did this year.
Casey James turn to go home for real, after tonight's show. Our Finals will feature Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox.

Lookout everyone, Lee DeWyze came to win tonight on American Idol. And the worst performance of the night belonged to Casey James.
Crystal Bowersox proved that the title is hers to lose, which after tonight I think we are going to have one of the most closely contested Finals in a long time.
Gonna record the results show, so I can skip through the Justin Bieber crap and whatever else they have scheduled. I just want to see them give Casey James the heave-ho, and the year will be complete.
Lee DeWyze's version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" was very moving and anyone who thinks they have heard better, is totally wrong. This was the best presentation of this song in the past five years.

Why would I want to watch Lynche again now that he's finally off the show?
Lee ~ His first performance was boring/forgettable (agreed with Simon). But the second amazed me. Mostly because I had read that Lee got "Halellujah" from Simon and I was completely disappointed. I was like--Simon! You're the only judge who ever picks good songs, how could you! (I also learned that Simon owns the rights to that song...which I didn't know...) But then Lee did so well. This is the same way I felt a few years ago when Simon gave Katherine McPhee "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (another exhausted song) and she blew it away. I remember that Lee was a favorite of Simon's from early in the season, and Simon helped him a lot with this.
Crystal ~ First song was a little screechy. Melissa Etheridge has more of a power voice, and that's not exactly Crystal. The second was very well-done (Ellen's a lot better at this than Kara), though the lyrics confused me. I just ignored it and enjoyed how good she did the song. But there were a few 'screechy' moments--surprised me--which is why I think Lee won the night.
Casey ~ I was most looking forward to "Daughters" (not a John Mayer fan, but I kind of liked that song), but it was the most boring song on the show. And Kara can't admit how bad of a judge she is, and how she doesn't help the contestants with her song choice. Simon criticizing Kara = worth the whole show. Casey's first performance was better. It was the first up-beat song that I've liked (thankfully because it wasn't a band song).
We all know Casey's going home. I just feel sorry that he was stapled to Kara for his run on the show (noone likes her, Idol, get rid of her if you want the show to survive next season).

I was like, not again, not that overused song that always gets overpraised no matter what contestant sings it but boy was I surprised. I never expected him to mix it up to sound like one of Elvis's gospel songs. Bravo Lee!

What was there about that song that you didn't understand. It is one of Paul McCartney's biggest hits, and she did it the 'Bowersox way', and I didn't notice any screeching in it. You must be trying to compare her to some no-talent like Selena Gomez (Miss Screecher) or Demi Lovato (Miss No-Talent).The second was very well-done (Ellen's a lot better at this than Kara), though the lyrics confused me. I know how much you like your cookie-cutter ideas of who people are and what they like, but, suprisingly, I don't listen to Selena Gomez or Demi Levato.dvdjunkie wrote: What was there about that song that you didn't understand. What I was referring to by being "confused" was the fact that she kept singing, "I'm a man, I'm a man, I'm a man...and maybe you're the only woman...etc." Didn't know I was discussing anthropology here. As for screeching, all I can say is that, if you didn't hear it, you must not have ears.

I GOT ONE RIGHT!!!!!! It's taken the whole season, but I finally got one right, and Casey James is not in the running for American Idol title in 2010.
Now it is down to just two - and the judges and the American public who voted got it right - Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox will compete on the Nokia Theater LA Live Stage for the American Idol crown. It should be a great show.
Lots of tearjerking moments as we got to see each of the Top Three's visits to their home towns. One of the most moving was Casey James going to the hospital where he got to personally thank the doctors there for saving his arm and leg, and potentially his life. He gave them an autographed guitar.
Really good show and glad that I got to fast forward through the 'tweeny-boppers' screaming for Justin Bieber and some other loser that someone thought had talent. Was not impressed with either performance.
I really don't care at this point who wins, but I am pulling for Crystal Bowersox. I would not be disappointed if the title went to Lee DeWyze, but we'll see next week.

It is the Season Finale tonight for "American Idol 9" and Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox will try their best to win your votes for the title.
Who do you like?
Right now, I saw Crystal will win, but there is always an upset in the making if Lee comes out swinging like last week.

What a great night on Idol. Crystal Bowersox brought her A-game and I truly think that she will be crowned the new American Idol tomorrow night.
Lee DeWyze insisted on doing "The Boxer" as he favorite performance of the season, while Bowersox countered with "Me and Bobby McGee" was pronounced "in to win it" by Randy Jackson.
Personally I think that DeWyze's nerves got the best of him and he could never get a hold of the stage, while Crystal's experience showed why she is the top candidate for the American Idol Season Nine crown.
Tomorrow night's two-hour Finale promises some very special tributes to the past nine seasons and Simon Cowell, since he is leaving the show after the season to bring his "X Factor" show onto US shores next season.
I'll be watching - will you?

Nope. Lost interest in this season about three weeks ago. Going to the beach with my friends is far more interesting than watching this snoozefest anymore.
I think my tenure with Idol (much like Simon's) is over.
Though I heard Will Young performed tonight, could that mean they are finally going to try to launch him in North America? I've been a fan for years since "The Hit List" (a music television show aimed at pre-teen audiences) did a "British Invasion" episode shortly after the first season of "Pop Idol" wraped in the UK and showed his first music video.
That would make this season worth it to me.

Wow--the worst AI finale ever. To the worst AI season ever. Even Crystal was pretty bad. She's grown a habit of screeching, and it never showed more than in "Black Velvet." Still, her "Up to the Mountain" was the only good thing about tonight--though not as good as Kelly Clarkson's version of the song on Idol Gives Back two years ago. And "Me and Bobby McGee" was well-done, though I'm not crazy about that song.
Lee was so blah tonight--which kind of sums up his average performance for the whole season. He might've stood out a couple of times ("You're Still the One" Shania week, "That's Life" Sinatra week, and "Hallellujah"), but he's been pretty boring the whole time. "Everybody Hurts" was just horrible--and very dull. "Beautiful Day" (by U2) was also pretty bland and forgettable.
If Crystal doesn't win, that would be the final topping on an extra crappy season. If Idol thinks they'll at least get some money out of Lee, I would just cut my losses and go with Crystal (and have someone in that genre of music they tried so desperately to get a cut in by having 10 girls who sound the same).

Since you and I are the only ones it seems who have paid attention to the competition this year, I will have to disagree with you on a couple of points.
I think you confuse screeching with singing, and you have used that term very often, and I think it is unfounded. What you might call 'screeching' is someone feeling the song, and not once this season did I hear Crystal Bowersox 'screech'. I heard her lose her way in a melody a couple of times, but I have never heard her "screech".
And how was this season the 'worst'? I haven't quite figured that out. I thought they had some very "pretty boys" with no talent, who at least made an effort (like Tim Urban, who should have been cut the first week). I will agree that for the most part, the girls weren't as good as past seasons, but some were making lousy choices of material.
I think some of the mentors could have been better choices. It looked like they were trying to save money this year, and went with what they could get with what they had to offer. I enjoyed Shania Twain and Chris Rock as a mentor, but Miley Cyrus was a very bad choice, I didn't think she could offer anything credible to anyone.
Without differences of opinion there would be no contest, and while I agree that Kara added nothing to the judges table, I really thought that Ellen DeGeneres was a solid addition to team. While rumors are floating about as to who is replacing Simon Cowell, I think that American Idol will survive to give us another season of 'talent' next year.
