Disney BOGOF!

Post by yamiiguy »

It's time again for the biannual (?) Disney DVD & Blu-Ray BOGOF. Kudos to you lucky folks who managed to get in when it was 2 for £10 (DVD) or 2 for £12 (Blu-Ray) at Amazon. Us who take a long time deliberating will have to settle for the current best deal 2 for £13.99 or £16.99 at play.com. Titles include:

Dumbo
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Jungle Book
Bolt
Tinkerbell
Wizards of Waverly Place
Aladdin
Pinocchio
Sleeping Beauty
G-Force
Wall-E
Aristocats
101 Dalmatians
Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure
Mary Poppins
Sword in the Stone
Robin Hood
Fox and the Hound
Mulan
Pocahontas
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Pete's Dragon
Bedknobs & Broomsticks
Jungle Book 2
Monsters Inc.
Cars
High School Musical(s)
Narnia(s)
Pirates of the Caribbean(s)

I'd probably get:

Dumbo
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Jungle Book
Aladdin
Pinocchio
Sleeping Beauty
Wall-E
Aristocats
101 Dalmatians
Mary Poppins
Sword in the Stone
Robin Hood
Fox and the Hound
Mulan
Pocahontas
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Pete's Dragon
Bedknobs & Broomsticks
Monsters Inc.
Cars
Pirates of the Caribbean(s)

I hate Wall-E though, I'd get it for completion's sake.

Can someone help me please, I've been catching up with my Disney DVD collection and ordered 5 DVDs from HMV UK (online), 4 of which were in the BOGOF offer - Ratatouille, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, WALL-E and Snow White (only one NOT included in offer). All of them have come now and are brand new & sealed which I'm really happy about but none of them came in their slipcases minus WALL-E. I've seen all these DVDs on Ebay with slipcases and I kinda wanted mine to have them too. Where can I get them? Can you order them from Disney, will it be free, will it be extra charge? If so could you please let me know or pass on a website where they do UK replacement slipcases? Thanks x

I'm pretty sure you can't, they're a limited time offer usually, your only hope is forums and the like.

Any clue as to when Disney may do this again ? I know they are promoting Disney DVD's from £3, but was just wondering if there was a rota of when the offer comes on throughout the year ?

I believe that they have a BOGOF offer around October. They wouldn't have one around now (or too soon after Christmas), as there have been general sales on anyway.

Thanks for responding, Wonderlicious :) I only ask as I want to start collecting Dinsey on Blu, in leiu of getting a bluray player. I may as well take advantage of thier combo packs now; I've just started with Princess and the Frog. Seeing as their '2 Disc DVD' editions for the Diamonds are falling far short of impressive, I may as well have the film on DVD, and have the anticipation of having a wonderful, full featured Blu waiting for me.

.....and I had no idea you were from the UK ! :)

Yeah, I used the BOGOF offer on Amazon from last October to get Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty on Blu-Ray, even though I probably still won't get a Blu-Ray player till God-knows-when. Doing it that way meant that I basically got them for around £8 each. HMV also do a lot of "Buy 2 for £25" offers (or something similar to that), and I've observed that Pixar films and live-action stuff feature frequently in the offer.
.....and I had no idea you were from the UK ! :)
Just out of curiosity, where did you think I was from?

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you; I know for sure I will get one, but who knows when ? You can pick them up quite cheap on amazon.co.uk, for £65 or so, so will probably end up doing that. I did get an HD TV for my 21st birthday, so by rights, I NEED a Bluray player to do the TV justice

I thought you were from the US ! So glad you are a fellow Britain ! :)

I'm not sure if I want to get anything anymore.

Used to be I would wait for this but then I got the SteelBooks of Wall-E, Monsters Inc, Ratatouille (owned Blu already) and A Bug's Life...

As for Disney titles, I have Snow White (last year's BOGO) and Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio in SteelBook.

I wouldn't mind slipless Blus but with the ugly Double Play banner I might as well order them all from the States.
