Oh my, Hell must be freezing over, I agree with Widdi about Tueday's judges. Katy Perry was a breath of fresh air and I am glad that Wednesday's show didn't waste to much time with Joe Jonas, although I was impressed with "Doogie Howser" as a judge, and his insightful criticism was a welcome breath of fresh air, especially when he stood his ground against Simon Cowell.

The Tuesday show was some of the worst talent I have seen, and I don't think we will be seeing any of those that got the golden ticket in the final 12. While Wednesday's show started off with a brilliant vocalist and ended on the same note. Dallas turned out to be a pool of talent that I think they just scratched the surface of.

Only one more week of shows before we start the Hollywood eliminations.

The mile-high city produced only 26 gold ticket holders, but they are all pretty good, the ones that they showed any way.

Wednesday they are back in Los Angeles for last of the audition shows and then next week we start with the Hollywood eliminations.

I still don't think we seen or heard this year's American Idol, unless some miracle happens and one is molded into a star by all of their coachings and practices. We'll see. For now the season 9 is pretty bland.

The Wednesday show was basically a best of the best of the seven cities they held tryouts in, and we got to see some really good talent. It gives me hope that this could be a very good season.

Next Tuesday it is the first round of the Hollywood Eliminations and the debut of new judge Ellen Degenerate. I hope she doesn't bring the show down by trying to be THE judge for American Idol. Hopefully they (the producers and Simon Cowell) have made the right choice. Time will tell.

Well, it must be a cold day in Hell, because I am taking everything back that I have said about Ellen 'Degenerate'.

I will now refer to her by her real name Ellen Degeneres and tell you that I think we have one of the best judges they could have ever picked. She was very sharp in her criticsms and didn't let Simon Cowell sway her in any of her decisions. She called it like she saw it, and I especially liked the fact that she referred to the Hollywood Audition as 'making your space on the stage your own'. She was bright, funny, and I could become one of her biggest fans if this continues.

I cannot stand her television show, but if she continues her judging ways on American Idol, I can honestly see her as the replacement for Simon Cowell next year.

Can't believe that no one has been commenting on the Hollywood week things. Tonight we get down to the Final 24 and next week starts the "talent show" that is American Idol.

So far I am agreeing with everything that the judges are saying about who stays and who goes. Ellen is just fantastic, and her way of keeping us on the edge of our seats is very original and very funny.

Truly think that this is going to be the best season ever. The young man who appeared in "The Color Purple" with Fantasia got through with a simple "yes" from Kara. The look on his face was worth a thousand words.

Can't wait to see how this all plays out, and unlike some others here I don't go searching around the internet for information. I just watch the show each week, vote for my favorites, and wait for the results. Don't pay any attention to the garbage that is posted on other websites about "Idol" because they are just basically jealous because they didn't think of this before Simon Cowell did, and they are broke, and he is a billionaire.

The Top 24 have been picked!!! Now it is game on beginning Tuesday and Wednesday with the Girls on Tuesday and the Guys on Wednesday and the results show on Thursday.

Looks like a really good variety of vocal styles, and should be an interesting season.

And I hope that Ellen stays on top of her game like she has been for the Hollywood Week. I am beginning to really like her for her judging skills.

Where are all the critics, or so-called critics of this show. Widdi hasn't posted for some time, and the others have just vanished into thin air. If you aren't watching this season of American Idol, then you are truly missing some very good talent.

In previous seasons, the standouts were obvious, but this year, it is going to come down to the Top Ten before we should be able to see a possible new Idol.

Also what is the all the rumors about Howard Stern coming to replace Simon Cowell? I don't know anyone who likes this crude SOB!!! I hope no one around here supports this idea of Howard Stern coming to American Idol.

I stopped watching the show a few weeks back, but plan to begin watching again on Tuesday. Having the Top 24 spoiled made watching the Hollywood week shows very boring. I'll be back with opinions you disagree with Tuesday night.

I'll start watching this coming week, when the show actually starts. All this filler "I'm doing this for my family; my brothers are mentally retarded; my wife's having a baby" is really uninteresting to me.

Anyway, I don't plan to stay with the show after Simon leaves. Don't like Kara and I've never cared for Randy. And Howard Stern would only make sure I'd never watch again.

I've actually heard Simon suggest Perez Hilton as his replacement? I wonder if he's subtly trying to sabotage the show so his X Factor can take the reigns (which it just might anyway). :P

The strongest rumor that I heard about Simon's replacement is that Pers Morgan would come over from "America's Got Talent" and take Simon's seat next year. I personally would like to see that.

He and Ellen would make a match that would be worth watching each week for that alone.

If the girls have all the talent this year…wow. The guys must suck right into the ground. (I don’t honestly believe that—I think they just want a girl winner after 2 guys)

The only girl that stood out to me (in a good way) at all was Haeley Vaugn. I completely disagreed with what they said about her (except the smiling thing; though I don’t know if she can help that, she seems to have a bit of a speech impediment). Her high notes were beautiful. She was the person I had the least expectations from, having unfavorable memories of her from the few auditions I saw, and yet she surprised me the most.

I agreed with Simon that nearly all the girls sounded alike. They’re Megan's, and that’s something I don’t like at all. I think that, because Megan really didn’t fly last year even though they shoved her “uniqueness” down our throats, that they’re trying to make sure someone with that style gets through. They clearly want someone of that niche to make money off of.

Here’s hoping tomorrow’s good, otherwise this will be a boring season.

I only saw half of the show last night (the first half) and boy-howdy if the girls have the talent this year then I might as well stop watching now cause there ain't no superstar among them.

Because I didn't see them all I won't rank them.

Haeley Vaughn is the first VFTW (vote for the worst) pick of the season, which didn't surprise me at all, it was like the "Across the Universe" version of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" injected with Prozacc. A smashing train wreck. Let's hope she survives.

Well, the guys definitely dominate this year for me, again. Unless some of the girls really change, that’s the way I see it.

My favorites of the 24, for the moment, are Casey James and Joe Munez (love love love this guy). Andrew Garcia and Lee DeWyze also both have great voices and talent. And I like Tyler Grady, too, but he did horrible tonight and I hope he makes it through to improve.

The only person I’m certain should go is John Park. The Shania stuff was funny, but he sounded horrible. As for others: Alex Lambert just might be the antithesis of Adam Lambert, considering he has a complete lack of stage presence and a gratiating voice; Jermaine Sellers was horribly screechy; and Tim Urban made a horrible song choice. Everyone must be really stupid this year though, because they’re all picking the wrong songs.

Regardless, it’s a relief that there is going to be some good voices this season.

Wow... Apparently after 8 years America is fresh out of undiscovered talent. Sure a couple of the guys had decent performances, but could you really call any of them "amazing"? No you could not.

Anyways since I did endure this hour (I also watched the other half of the girls show, which was incredibly bad, but also incredibly entertaining... something you can't really say about the boys) I will rank the twelve of them:

1. Todrick Hall. I didn't understand why the judges hated it so much, they are always saying "make the song your own (dawg)" and when somebody does they get railroaded for it. It's not like "Since U Been Gone" is an effin musical masterpiece that should never be tampered with... hell it's not even one of Kelly Clarkson's best songs, but the way they were bitching about it you think he'd turned "Hey Jude" into a gangsta rap. He had good stage presence and was easily the most memorable of the night, and considering he went first that's saying a lot.

2. Casey James. Technically pretty good, but oh so boring... and the Kara shtick is getting old fast...

3. Aaron Kelly. As someone who absolutely hates Rascal Flatts, the song was pretty good... I have a hard time watching him sing though cause he reminds me of a young Chandler Bing with more gay-face. I really thought he was going to be a complete disaster tonight, but it was actually a nice, although slightly forgettable performance.

4. Joe Munoz. Good but forgettable.

5. Michael Lynche. Wasn't as good as he has been, but I was glad to see the disqualification rumors were wrong since I want to like him.

6. Lee Dewyze. Very middle of the road. I agree with Simon's opinions more than the other judges.

7. Andrew Garcia. Terrible, but less so than 8-12.

8. Tyler Grady. Was that even singing?

9. Tim Urban. Laughably bad. He got the VFTW endorsement this week.

10. John Park. Yeah... No...

11. Jermaine Sellers. Had a date with my mute button.

12. Alex Lambet. The most awkward performance ever! Even if he had of been good the Sparkle-Cows (aka Adam Lambert super fans who still claim he's straight) would make sure he goes home so that another A. Lambert doesn't succeed on Idol. Also lose the starter mullet it makes you look like a stereotypical lesbian.

Going Home: Alex and Jermaine.

Predictions for Top 6 guys:
Andrew, Casey, Lee, Joe, Michael, Aaron

Predictions for Top 6 Girls:
Janell, Katie, Crystal, Haeley, Lilly, Lacey

Also Girls Going Home: Katelyn and Michelle

I agree about Todrick Hall. Even though I wasn't super-crazy about his version of the song, my reaction was: "Damn. He just bested all the girls in one go."

All of this and no love for Ellen Degeneres. She is absolutely honest to the point of being hurtful to some of the girls and some of the guys. She is a lot better than I ever though she would be. Can't stand her show, but as a judge she has my vote for the rest of the year When she says she likes someone, I am definitely paying attention.

I think Ellen injected something that the show really needed and that is a Fan Judge. She speaks not from a music executive point of view but as a member of the music buying public, she knows what people want to hear and not what "they" (being the music industry) thinks we want.

And I think she's been hitting the books about musical technical aspects too, which is probably a good thing since she can't really provide constructive criticism about singing without a musical background.

I'm very happy that someone (Ellen) finally pointed out that what the judges hear on stage and what we hear at home isn't the same thing. It explains things like Chris Richardson a lot.

Also glad they are finally admitting that when they are up on the stage it isn't the first time the judges hear them sing that song.

Seems like they are cleaning up a little of the shady business that goes on behind the scenes.

I agree, I am absolutely loving Ellen's judging style. And she fits right in, too, it doesn't seem weird since she's new and all.

And way to go, DVDjunkie, you finally learned to spell her name correctly! :)
